I spent my formative years near or on college campuses. Lots of time in bubbles - especially in student family housing at Berkeley. It was a socialist utopia. Lol. I never developed a sense of 'the others' when it came to race. My parents didn't talk like that and at school and in my neighborhoods I knew ppl of every race (and their parents). And I had a big ol Black family and went to a Black church so I knew and was comfortable with Black folks, of course.
