75. "Same here..."emergency" c-section...which I still think was B.S." In response to In response to 72
but that's AFTER the fact of us doing more research and hearing stories from others...man...don't even get me started on that....I don't want that weight on MEAT's head...brotha needs good vibes...
>Emergency C section so we struggled with breastfeeding for >the first one because she was separated from us for a day >while my wife recovered.
Yup, they took her away "for the safety of the mother and child"...but in retrospect they could have just as easily provided a nurse or assistant to support the child for safety while the numbing medications from the C-Section wore off...but money, time and resources prevented that.... I had taken some short video clips and noticed in all of them that our daughter was basically suckling air in attempt to feed...but the nurses were insistent that she take a bottle of formula instead while my wife rested... On top of that, they always took her AWAY to run tests and shit when they could have just as easily done what they needed right there in the room.
>Second baby was almost separated from us due to her struggling >to breathe but right before they were getting ready to til her >out she was fought thru it and it's been smooth sailing.
2nd baby we knew the game and stopped it before they started. Still had to do a C-Section because of other complications....but we didn't let them disappear with the baby like the first go around. She latched on within minutes and the breast feeding went pretty smooth for the most part. She ended up throwing in the towel on it this summer though for various reasons....mainly production couldn't keep up with how much the baby needed/wanted to consume in a day. Baby number 2 is 11 months old now though...counting down the days to not having to come up with this formula money...lol.. She's eating solids already so we really could probably stop now, but they say wait till they're a year old so....
