Don't get me started on how many blacks you'll see at an anime/comic convention. So, black people liking non-stereotypically "black" things is pretty much the norm now.
But there is a difference between a black person going against the grain and trying to distance themselves from blackness AND assimilate. No one's going to clown you for liking Metaillca but they may feel a way if you're rocking a Make America Great cap OR seem uneasy around folks who look like you.
