This one, in particular, leaned on the design of the hotel, the heiress' home, the museum, landscape etc. to define the psuedo time-period and location of the film. Previously, there seemed to always just dismissal of his art as just indulgence on his part (although how the production quality of Darjleeing or Mr. Fox was overlooked is criminal).
BTW, highly recommend The Wes Anderson Collection from Matt Zoller Seitz; if anything, if you can find it at a good price, it makes a great coffee table book.
