>Fight Club - Good movie. No strong feelings on it, though. >Donnie Darko - Liked it. It's actually a pretty funny film. I think people were upset because they read too much into the mystery of the movie, when it was in fact a fairly straight-forward scifi movie that just obscured the plot enough to suggest something deeper was at work. It probably would seem like a better movie if you watched it stoned. >Pulp Fiction - Fantastic film. Deserves all the love it gets. >Star Wars episodes I - III - Yes. I'm a fan. Are they better than the original trilogy? Of course not. Did Lucas drop the ball in how he executed them? Probably, at times. But, I still can't get enough of the Star Wars universe - I'm just a geek for it. No need to argue about whether anyone else should agree with me - its pretty much in my blood to like Star Wars. I enjoy it almost unconditionally. And I'm actually glad that a new generation of Star Wars geeks is coming along now who have grown up on these prequels. No matter what Lucas says, this series is NOT over. For better or worse, the franchise will be around for a long time to come. >Crash - No interest in it. >War of the Worlds - Looked like crap. No plans to see it. >Napoleon Dynamite - I expected it to suck, but found it highly amusing. I really like this movie. >Lord of the Rings trilogy - Brilliant. Couldn't imagine a better adaptation of the books (which I loved). >Sin City - No. I liked parts of it, and enjoyed the style, but ultimately wasn't that impressed. Pretty vacant stuff. >Matrix series - Great film, Decent film, Terrible film. The sequels were basically a very bad idea. >Memento - I think it was a great little movie. The gimmick works well with the subject matter, so it succeeds. >City of God - Absolutely. I'm about to watch it again. >Lost in Translation - Liked it quite a bit, but I doubt it would stand up if I saw it multiple times. Good movie, though. >Scarface - I don't remember, saw it a long time ago. >Training Day - Nothing special. Not an Oscar-worthy film or performance (whatever that means). It was okay for what it tried to do. > >Family Guy - Not my cup of tea, though it has grown on me some. Reminds me a lot of The Critic. Lots of jokes, mainly non-sequitor humor, willing to go anywhere with a gag. I don't hate it though. >Simpsons - I still watch it, though the laughs are considerably less frequent these days. But after being a huge fan for this long, I can't bring myself to really dislike the show. In its prime it was one of the greatest TV shows ever. >Aqua Teen Hunger Force - Don't like it. How can Adult Swim cancel Home Movies and keep crap like this on the air? >Arrested Development - Great show. This season has been uneven (Charlize Theron's character was a lame idea), but I'm pissed that they're about to cancel it. >Lost - So far, I like it. I'm watching Season 1 right now, and I'm in "spoiler-avoidance" mode. But, I'll reserve judgement, but it seems like something I'll enjoy. >The Office, American and British - Plan on watching the British version. The NBC one is very funny, and I plan on starting to watch it. >CSI (original and spinoffs) - I have no interest in TV cop shows like this. >Sopranos - Haven't seen a full episode in my life. Someday I may watch the series to find out if it deserves the hype. >Wonderfalls - No idea. I might check it out eventually. >Freaks and Geeks - Brilliant TV show. Why didn't I watch it when it was on?! This DVD set is a prize possession in my collection. >Undeclared - Another great series. I watched it religiously when it was on FOX, and I was sorry to see it cancelled. The DVD set is nice, but made me realize how uneven the show was episode to episode. > >Marvel vs DC - Don't read comics anymore, but I used to be a DC head. >Batman and prep time - Prep time is vastly overrated. > >Harry Potter (books and/or movies) - I tried to avoid the books on the basis that I'm an adult, but eventually I read them and discovered they're pretty damn good. I wish they'd been around when I was a kid. Of the first three movies, only the third was actually any good. > >George W. Bush (just curious) - HATE. I hate the guy. I hate his policies. I hate his corruption. I hate that he's supposed to represent me to the rest of the world. He is unredeemable. Nothing good about W.
