on one hand "power" can be described as access to resources (even maintaining exclusivity to those resources through threat of physical force)
"Power" can also be described as knowing how to use one's knowledge...
A more interesting question, imo, would be why do certain people (racially, gender) appear to desire "power" more than others? How is the pursuit of "power" perceived culturally? What are the (social, cultural) barriers of attaining and redefining "power"? What is the future of "power"?
This is what is of real interest to me.
