He already has changed black music. He did that with Brown Sugar. After Brown Sugar people like Maxwell, Erykah, Rashan Patterson, etc. came on the scene. The success of Brown Sugar made record companies clamor for other artists that made real soul music. With Voodoo he evolved to a whole other level; a level that must people can't understand. Let's face it, if you didn't grow up with that kind of music (70's era) then it would be hard to identify with it. But, to say that D' hasn't made any changes in Black music is crazy. He has contributed 2 musical and lyrical masterpieces to the "genre" known as R&B--a genre that has been filled with over synthesized music, sampling, and empty typical lyrics. It is quite evident that D' has changed the game.
