this is incorrect generally, my work laptop is a mba with 8gb of ram and it holds up.
my personal laptop is an xps with 16gb and it's not a memory issue
the main problem is that trying to review a laptop using a method other than the way you typically use a laptop is simply a bad idea. and no one is saying their process is your process, all they can do is tell you what they did so you can understand what they're talking about.
you don't write professionally *for a public audience
when you write at work, the people who are reading it, it's their job to read it.
for people who write reviews, etc. they are writing for people who can choose to read someone else, or do something else entirely, which changes the math and the mental load immensely
