13465698, already tired of hearing about giving people their flowers
Posted by legsdiamond, Wed Aug-03-22 07:46 AM
give it 3 more months before its weaponized by Fox News

Wife said a worker at Trader Joes thought my daughter said her kittens name was WOKE.. smh. My wife was like “no she didn’t.. stop it”

wife may not go back to work, we can make it work but ummm, all that talk about covered decks and shit is dead, lol. That shit cost money and now we are on a tighter budget.

work is work.. new assistant is cool but she is a little too Amelie since she moved to a France for a few years. Claims she has people after her due to a cyber attack (We work in cyber). Its like ole girl in Atlanta.. just a bit too dramatic and it doesn’t sound real. She is working out well tho at the gig, but it all feels a bit off since she keeps saying “you don’t want to know.. it was so bad”

I do want to know.. lol. Is she a former spy? wtf
13465706, I'm feeling extremely good about this job I've been interviewing for
Posted by double negative, Wed Aug-03-22 08:43 AM
im in the middle of the third round. it's been a fucking gauntlet.
Yesterday was 6 hours of sessions. Today is another 2 hours and then I'll get the final word in a few days.

It's going to be a challenging role, but its the kick in the pants I need, I've been cruising but it's time to get back into the dojo and shape up.

13465707, I like Pizza Hut more than 99% of NYC or artisanal pizza
Posted by handle, Wed Aug-03-22 08:49 AM
Over the last 2 months I've been trying local pizza shops that have great ratings on Yelp and other local review sites. Local shops run by small business people. And I didn't love any of them.

Rosati's Chicago style was salty and the sauce was not good. Their non-Chicago style was also bland.

The Pizza Standard's tomato based slices don't hold sauce well - and their non-tomato based ones are better - except the crust always has a faintly burnt taste.

A Brooklyn Pizzera also has sauce problems.

Roger's Pizzerolo crust was "fine" but the cheese was not up to far.

Filippi's crust isn't my style - but it's always the pizza that people say they love the most in San Diego.

Pizza Hutt deep dish turns out to be my favorite.

I'm basic.
13465710, As a midwesterner I love Pizza Hut!

13465716, Pizza hut is good.
Posted by spades, Wed Aug-03-22 09:38 AM
13465719, I fuck with Pizza Hut too
Posted by Ashy Achilles, Wed Aug-03-22 09:42 AM
13465721, pizza hut is terrible, BUT the personal pan pizzas are crack
Posted by shygurl, Wed Aug-03-22 10:04 AM
That's the only good thing they sell, everything else they have is horrible.

Edit - Have you tried Jet's? Detroit style pizza is pretty good with a thick crust.
13465723, Detroit style is good
Posted by mista k5, Wed Aug-03-22 10:28 AM
13465726, man.. those personal pans were my shit back in the day
Posted by legsdiamond, Wed Aug-03-22 10:34 AM
but last few times I tried Pizza Hut it was awful.

I actually like Domino’s over Pizza Hut which is crazy.

Never tried Jets but everyone swears its good.

I been stunting and getting Ny style from a place called Portifino’s in Charlotte. Expensive but good as hell.

13465764, Pizza Hut, Dominos...
Posted by Dstl1, Wed Aug-03-22 05:11 PM
Marcos (regional) are on my list of chain joints that I won't even consider, anymore. Been that way for SOME YEARS, too. There's just too many other places to get good shit from, to even waste my time with them. There's some local joints that bang.
13465736, You wylin'
Posted by spades, Wed Aug-03-22 11:13 AM
That liquid cholesterol that drench their crusts in ALONE is worth the price.
13465722, its my go to delivery but i like plenty others more
Posted by mista k5, Wed Aug-03-22 10:27 AM
its just convenient to order from pizza hut for me. do you mean their pan pizza or do they have a deep dish over there?

their pan pizza tastes good but i try to limit how much bread i eat so i dont go for it often.
13465725, I did mean "pan pizza" and not deep dish
Posted by handle, Wed Aug-03-22 10:34 AM
IT guess it's just the sheer amount of fat and carbs, the texture and how well it holds cheese and sauce.

13465768, I really want to try cuts and slices but can't seem to make time...
Posted by sosumi, Wed Aug-03-22 07:43 PM

13465712, I put bourbon in my tea this morning 🙁
Posted by SuiteLady, Wed Aug-03-22 09:07 AM
probably wasn’t the best decision but I woke up feeling kinda blah. So I worked out for a short time, drank a full glass of water, showered, and then fixed me a bourbon peach tea. Now I am sitting at my desk wondering what I am going to eat today. Pizza Hut sounds nice.
13465715, I DESPERATELY wanted to put some ANYTHING in my cup this morning.
Posted by spades, Wed Aug-03-22 09:38 AM
lol

Blah over here too, and today is my one weekday I don't hit the gym, alas, my ass was too slow getting out the shower this morning and ultimately I just didn't have the time to stop and get anything.

Prolly for the best, but....

Catch me at luch.

lol

13465718, I got a bad feeling about one of my new hires...
Posted by spades, Wed Aug-03-22 09:39 AM
She hasn't done anything wrong yet, but something about her gives me a bad vibe.

She prolly got a maga hat or something in her closet.

ugh....
13465724, so many people seem to be maga
Posted by mista k5, Wed Aug-03-22 10:32 AM
i pretty much assume everyone at my job is maga. the ex-ceo was an ex-marine so he might have had a nose for them. i somehow got past him lol

some people put up a really good front for interviews. i know a couple reports i hired surprised me on their first day. not just appearance, their personality was a lot different. they still worked out well. i think there was one i interviewed and considered but ended up passing on. they eventually did bring him on for a different position and he didnt work out at all lol they didnt even consult me when they hired him just surprised me with hey look who we hired.
13465729, seeing an interviewee you rejected get hired just to flame out 😃
Posted by shygurl, Wed Aug-03-22 10:42 AM
It's petty, but you just looking at the hiring manager like "I told y'all bitches smh" lol
13465737, It may be petty, but damn is it satisfying!

13465727, If she is white, chances are 70/30 she is maga
Posted by legsdiamond, Wed Aug-03-22 10:38 AM
We have 2 at our office.

One is marrying a vet and the other is just New England abrasive so its obvious

The younger one got a phatty but every now and then she says some dumb regurgitated nonsense.

Like I bet she listens to country music
Like I bet she drinks bud-light on purpose
Like I bet she got a confederate flag bikini

Then again, I just met this girl face to face Monday, so it's entirely possible she is an upstanding citizen, and a credit to her race and I'm just in here being suspicious and slanderous.

We'll see....
13465763, the confederate flag bikini just took me OUT....well done, sir

13465752, I ain't even gon try.
Posted by spades, Wed Aug-03-22 02:37 PM
I SERIOUSLY worry about the future. These fucking sociopaths are set to str8 ruin the country for anyone that isn't priviledged and white.
13465755, it's so hard to try and feel any type of optimism
Posted by shygurl, Wed Aug-03-22 03:19 PM
It's always one step forward, twelve steps back. How do you fight against a system where hatred of the very essence of who you are is built into the fabric of every institution that governs your life? It's so demoralizing.
13465766, word
Posted by spades, Wed Aug-03-22 05:20 PM
I honestly, think about moving frequently. With remote work this shit ain't a pipe dream anymore. I'd rather sit on a beach in Belize, y'all can have this godforsaken place.
13465757, I won my two fights against angled parking
Posted by MEAT, Wed Aug-03-22 03:25 PM
And now they're replicating my design in two sites in CA
LFG
The two other sites located in (European Country) and (Asian Country) get all the credit for innovation and design
But the scrappy, nappy dude from nowhere, Texas is putting his name up there
13465759, Nice, except for the credit
Posted by mista k5, Wed Aug-03-22 04:01 PM
Must feel good still.

13465771, Dope! ... but I need you to break down the trailer thing for us...
Posted by FLUIDJ, Thu Aug-04-22 05:15 AM
I've never driven a tractor trailer....only towed a car on trailer once...but I remember driving around looking for a parking space that was parallel to the curb so that I could simply siddle up against the curb to park and pull out when it was time to leave... I know that's not efficient at ALL for capacity...but i'm certain I woulda jackknifed the hell outta that trailer if I'd have had to back out of a 90degree spot.
A double open ended 90degree spot would have been perfect though...pull in, drive out. Is that what you ended up with? A double open ended 90degree?
13465773, Trailers back up to docks every day (c) Construction Killmonger
Posted by MEAT, Thu Aug-04-22 05:57 AM
Thats where I walk people to. You tell me that you’re making folks lives easier by implementing all of these changes, but they’re gonna leave here and pull right up to a dock at 90 degrees
13465774, Ahhh that's right!!! So simple. damn.

Posted by legsdiamond, Thu Aug-04-22 05:39 AM
I wonder why?
13465785, Did anyone here get laid off in that Bush to Obama financial collapse?
Posted by MEAT, Thu Aug-04-22 09:06 AM
I've met so many people over the course of my career and 1 part is having been in the Postal Service, I mainly met other postal workers, but I'm struggling to think of having met anyone else that dealt with that time, even though the economy was shedding a quarter million jobs a month or something like that.
13465786, I was
Posted by handle, Thu Aug-04-22 10:45 AM
Laid off in very late 2008 - after Obama was elected but before he took office.
13465796, How did/are you cope?
Posted by MEAT, Thu Aug-04-22 11:30 AM
I was unemployed from October 2008 to September 2009
Then underemployed. Then double employed. Then unemployed for 5 months until I got on with the Postal Service in May of 2012.

Those years were hell. Pure hell.
13465838, I got very lucky and a previous employer reached out
Posted by handle, Thu Aug-04-22 03:58 PM
A previous employer, out of the blue, reached out and asked me to rejoin the company based on the work I had done for them previously.

I was only unemployed for a few months.

In 2006 I hit a year of unemployment where I simply could not get hired, I exhausted my unemployment benefits and went deeply into to debt by paying bills with my credit cards.

I eventually had to declare bankruptcy to recover from that period - it was incredibly stressful.

I got a job in spring of 2007, and that job was where I was laid off between Bush and Obama.

The sad thing in this country is there's not really a lot of help.
13465834, I was close...but fortunately made a smooth transition into fed....
Posted by FLUIDJ, Thu Aug-04-22 03:38 PM
but I woulda been gone because the owner of the company I worked for was batshit crazy and thought all 8 of his employees were out to ruin him despite all of our livilihoods being reliant on his well being .....
