For the record, I am with you that there is a racial component here, and with any situation like this. So I'm not in the camp that naively believes that race doesn't play a part in how players are treated in the media and by the league in these types of situations.

With that said, I'm still curious what Gronk does/has done that, in your mind, is so disgusting ? I think Gronk gets preferable treatment by the media, like I said ... his hard-partying ways are treated a lot differently than the same type of activities are treated when the subject is a black player. There's no arguing that at all if you have a brain in your head.

But I don't think, beyond his admittedly atrocious, egregious display this past weekend, that he is a particularly "disgusting" or dirty person or player. He parties off the field and he plays hard on it. This is the first time I'd characterize his behavior as "disgusting." I may be forgetting another instance or two but I wouldn't characterize him, in general, as a dirty player or a truly *bad* person. So I'm curious what makes you characterize him as such, beyond just this one instance ?

Pats fan or not. I'm looking at it objectively. If anyone can provide me with more than this one example of Gronk being a "disgusting" person or player I'll humbly stand down. I just don't think it's there so I think that characterization of him in general is unfair.

Lotta people think that ODB hit was just as bad. I'm not one of them but if we are talking about consistency, these are the most similar instances.

The difference is we all watched Norman and ODB take cheap shots at each other.

ODB’s hit was terrrible tho. I’m all for 4 game suspensions that get reduced to 2. At least it would give the impression the NFL cares.

Putting H2H football plays on the same level as Gronk and ODB sets a bad precident

For better or worse it is stated policy in the NHL that repeat offenders get stronger punishments.

However, shit like the Gronk hit shouldn’t be treated as a first offense. I think his hit was so dirty you need to send a message to make sure it doesn’t happen again
