>gronk DOES have a fucking track record of disgusting >behavior, he just never has to own it. it's always spun >immediately as innocence on his part, and if there's a >problem, it's society's fault for not excusing his boyish >behavior.
For the record, I am with you that there is a racial component here, and with any situation like this. So I'm not in the camp that naively believes that race doesn't play a part in how players are treated in the media and by the league in these types of situations.
With that said, I'm still curious what Gronk does/has done that, in your mind, is so disgusting ? I think Gronk gets preferable treatment by the media, like I said ... his hard-partying ways are treated a lot differently than the same type of activities are treated when the subject is a black player. There's no arguing that at all if you have a brain in your head.
But I don't think, beyond his admittedly atrocious, egregious display this past weekend, that he is a particularly "disgusting" or dirty person or player. He parties off the field and he plays hard on it. This is the first time I'd characterize his behavior as "disgusting." I may be forgetting another instance or two but I wouldn't characterize him, in general, as a dirty player or a truly *bad* person. So I'm curious what makes you characterize him as such, beyond just this one instance ? ----------------------------------------
