Derrick Rose missed the morning shootaround and is a game-time decision for Thursday's Knicks game.
This news would be relatively benign other than the fact that coach Tom Thibodeau indicated that Rose missed the shootaround due to his "body" rather than his knee. That cryptic distinction could very well mean that Rose needs some rest after not playing all the entire 2012-13 season, but this is a situation we'll be monitoring very closely in case there is anything more serious at play.

Knicks on a 2nd night of a back to back. At the United Center. Rose's first regular season game at home. Plus Bulls have a very high win percentage after losses.

Since the money was already spent the salary Bargs is making is not as important a the production you get for it, and the expiration date of the contract.
Novak at his best is one dimensional, we know what he is is and everyone knows/knew how to neutralize him.
Bitch Height Bargs at his best is a match up problem that can create his own shot and put the ball on the floor. At least he's gonna shoot, Novak would pass up shot and couldn't think about creating his own shot.
The Knicks took a chance to get more production for the money. If it works it works, great...if it doesn't it expires when everyone else does anyway.

I think what is important is that he does it writhing the framework of the team chemistry from last year. Boozer Deng and Butler all get looks and chances to produce so as long as he keeps them flowing efficiently, he can work his beadtmode into the flow.
Midseason he will be able to turn it on and off and be a better facilitator.
Watching Jordan all of those years, part of what made him great was the ability to go bananas at the flip of a switch. Jordan would start out strong, and if the Bulls had a lead, work the offense and God forbid the came was close or we were down in the 4th....it would be a wrap and he would go Jordan.
That being said, as long as he comes through in the clutch and get us out to decent lead, quarters 2-3 can be all Deng Boozer and Butler getting money.

Yeah, I think he's getting them the ball, but they seem to all be jumpers. And outside of Boozer, they haven't been hitting them. Which forces Rose to, dare I say it, turn the Bulls into the Knicks...ha.

I can't really get too angry about losing on a shot like that. I thought Felton and Tyson had it defended well. Rose is just Rose, though.
It'd be nice if the Knicks would run actual plays late in close games. Maybe someday.
On a positive note, Tyson looks healthy and has been really solid so far. That Tyson-Melo-Shumpert-Felton-Hardaway Jr. lineup late in the game looked real good, too.

He allowed Steph to work off the ball for easy looks, Klay didn't have to handle the ball or play off the dribble (two things he is mediocre at), and Toney Douglas is an inconsistent decision maker.
If you have the personnel to really crowd and haggle Steph for 48 mins, you can force turnovers out of him and the other ball-handlers.

They should probably stagger Iggy and Steph's minutes a bit, I understand getting Steph off the ball to get better looks, but he really is a guy who shoots just as good off the dribble too. Meanwhile the Warriors 2nd unit doesn't have that same punch without Jack and Carl Landry. Warriors are gonna be real dangerous but it's hard to take them as a serious title contender until they get some source of inside scoring.

Having primary ball handling duties while getting hounded is a tiring exercise plus Coach Jackson expects full effort on the defensive end....JJ allowed Steph to get easy looks without having to do much work which conserves his stamina and thus makes the rest of his game better. Some of these turnovers tonight by Steph are tired turnovers and I can't even blame him because there are no other primary ball-handlers on the court and CP3/Collison have been applying a lot of ball pressure.
