"Movies you regret forcing your parents to take you to"

Let's talk about it.

Terrible, horrible-awful kiddie (or not so kiddie) pics that you begged and pleaded your parents to take you to see, that now looking back, you almost want to write home like "I'm sorry, Dad."

I've a list. Most of them are TV cartoon shows adapted to features:

The Secret of the Sword (1985)
The Care Bears Movie (1985)
Care Bears Movie II: A New Generation (1986)
The Care Bears Adventure in Wonderland (1987)
GoBots: Battle of the Rock Lords (1986)
Masters of the Universe (1987)
The Nutcracker Prince (1990 - I thought this one was awful even back then

Especially when you come from a household where the only family sanctioned theater trips were for shit like My Left Foot. Maybe if Mom even had a TV anymore, she could catch Gremlins 2 on cable and finally wrap her head around what makes for truly endearing art.

She barely speaks any English I remember leaving the theater and she was wondering WTF she just saw.

Moms took me to the theater one day to see Street Fighter, that was the last time she took to me the movies.

When i was in elementary school i really liked Van Damme flicks, made my dad take me to watch Sudden Death. I loved it (still do), he hated it.

Jesus Christ was a fucking terrible movie. The only redeeming quality was that Forest Whitaker didn't die. I mean sure as a 7 year old it was cool to see a naked woman, but it didn't help that she immediately ate the muthafucker after she got done giving him a blow job. Talk about nightmares.

I don't know what the fuck my parents were thinking.

Also, I wasn't there for this, but my brother experienced my nephew's last kid movie. The boy begged him to go see the third Alvin and the Chimpmunks movie, and then my brother watched the boy slowly figure out the deviousness of Hollywood marketing schemes.

And all the men and women merely players:
They have their exits and their entrances;
And one man in his time plays many parts..." -The Bard

I didn't do that to my parents too much but had an older brother I got to take me instead

I recall my mom taking me to Superman III and she was not impressed. I thought it was awesome at the time, now tend to agree with her aside from junkyard scene which is still awesome

Mega Force maybe the worst movie I saw in the theater, with my bro. I don't remember it at all really, just thinking the vehicles looked cool at the time and I was into Knight Rider and stuff like that

On another note, I took my son to Green Lantern and I regret that completely lol

Great enough that he had it on VHS and used to have us watch that and the Star Wars Trilogy when we were kids.

I think it suffered because of Star Wars.

I hope we're talking about the same film and not Kevin Sorbo's Kull, that movie was garbage.
