"Above The Law Appreciation Thread"

These cats are easily the most underrated group in all of Hip Hop. These cats went from being down with Eazy-E and Ruthless Records to Tommy Boy Records and all the while they were consistently putting out great albums. As a group they've had one of the best runs in all of Hip Hop too. Oh yeah, Cold 187um is the most underrated Hip Hop producer in all of Hip Hop too. Aside from Dr. Dre, Cold 187um is the coldest motherfucker to ever do G- Funk. His beats and production were straight up nasty and funky as fuck.

What are your favorite Above The Law albums, songs, singles.... etc etc?

as a kid, felt like they were just following in that NWA lane a little too hard, right down to the record company & having Dre Executive-Producer & do tracks for.

But when I moved out here in '04 I really got into the later stuff with Julio G bumping them during his return to KDAY before it became full-on rap oldies station over there.

That Uncle Sam's Curse album is a beast. That is a pure-mid-90's-Westcoast-gangster-rap classic.

It even just sounds better out here.

I'd give em 5. Those tommy boy albums had killer stuff as well. 100 Spokes, Endonesia, Evil That Men Do, Deep Az the Root, etc. Big Hutch first solo was pretty decent but after that they were pretty meh.

It's sad that many people will never fully appreciate this album

The G In Me is top 10 hardest track of the 90s. And I love Kokane so his contributions to Uncle Sam's Curse are incredible

Vocally Pimpin - Underrated EP

Black Mafia Life - VSOP!

Uncle Sams Curse - this album should have went multi platinum. Their best album.

Favorite album is still "Livin' Like Hustlers" where every single song bangs. One of the few artists that had success after working Dre doing stuff on their own. Black Mafia Life was a great follow up and the album has aged pretty well in my opinion.
