small amounts add up over time

i keep dropping in 5 per week in one app and I already got up to over 1k.
I got up to a few K in another thing by adding in 10 bucks per week all of last year (robinhood, i made some good plays, I am not one to play options so I know I'm leaving money on the table but I know options is not for the faint of heart)
I'm also running Acorns which is the absolute shit

finally eligible at the new gig, having a meeting about it next week. wish they 100% matched like my last job instead of 50%

I had a gig at a university and didn’t think I signed up for retirement and my wife and mother in law were like “by law you have one with the state” guck around and found out I had like 5K in it.

I legit had no idea I had one so I couldn’t fuck it up.

Some of them got that emergency stash in case it all goes south. Can't blame them for that but that money needs to be put back on the table at some point. You're worried ya'll might never retire while she's starting to talk about taking fancy trips, upgrading her car or taking a break from work.

On the other hand, they tend to use their stash to take care of everybody else while we'll stick to immediate family and our parents. She's lacing first and 2nd cousins up with graduation gifts on the low while you barely wanna send a card lol
