"Prince Madness Tournament: What is the BEST Prince Single of All Time?"
I made an online tournament bracket of U.S. released Prince singles. I thought it would be a fun exercise. It was tough seeding the songs because there are two dozen that could have been #1 seeds. Caveat: This bracket only consists of released singles. So no album cuts or B-Sides. And not every single is included. I had to limit the number to 64. Anyway, please check out the links below and vote. Round 1 is open to voting until March 18th. So far, there are some surprising results.
Prince Madness Tournament. 4 Regions. 64 Songs. 1st Round open for voting until March 18th.

Midwest #1 Kiss
West #4 1999
South #6 Controversy
East #1 When Doves Cry
Also within the frame of the works themselves, as just songs, my picks would've been different. But I based them off how they worked as released singles.

Thanks for that. My intention was for people to use their own criteria for picking songs. Whether they thought it was a better song. Or a better "single". Or if they had more of an emotional attachment to a particular song. Whatever criteria a voter chose is the right criteria.
I just seeded songs based on my personal preference. So I was actually surprised to see certain songs that I liked, fall in the early rounds. Like Anotherloverholeinyohead. I didn't realize how much people liked Controversy more.

It's just too hard...I do like a lot of the older songs and his newer stuff also and all I can probably say is that I loved his earlier work best, but there is always some newer ones that I want to hear. Since he passed away, I have had a chance to a lot of Prince music that I had never heard before, like his jazz and blues music.
With Prince, it depends on my mood, I don't ever listen to his music when I need some easy listening stuff. I most likely won't be listen to any Prince at bedtime, but I really love his music and I miss him!!!
But right about now, I have:
-Partyman -Uptown -Get Off -The Most Beautiful Girl In The World
These 4 songs are resting in my head right now !!!
