LA is the home of meeting to discuss ideas that might not pan out, it's all about maintaining relationships though
I've been doing A&R work for an artist whose music I enjoy because he needs the help and I was looking to gain experience
in my real life Im super in touch with my emotions, learning how to exist outside of them and stay balanced as a man is a daily challenge whether it's at work or in my marriage
I can't wait for these first few months to pass so we can get some sleep.
My wife had a parent bust up in her class acting a fool and my wife bucked up on her. No hands but she lost her composure. So I went up there to make sure she was good and while I was out front a parent was screaming "SHE IS A TERRIBLE TEACHER" which prompted me to ask her if she was talking about my wife.
She wasn't.
I felt bad.
Ole girl was shook.
I apologized.

I be testifying but I swear no one listening...
while at my granddaughter's graduation and looking around the room at some of the other children, I realized how fortunate we are. Her condition isn't half as bad as the other children. She was one of the few that was able to move on. she got caught behind the pelvic bone so, they had to yank her out. It messed up the left side...she doesn't speak in full sentences...(she can say gi -gi tho,lol) and they didn't expect her to live. by the grace of God...she living and the seizures under control! Bad as shit tho lol
I'm ubering home today for the first time and I'm a little scared.

Then, once I thought about it, things made a bit more sense. some of these kids won't graduate from anything else. So, they treat a high school graduation like it's graduation/wedding/baby shower all at the same time.

My kids would have been clowned mercilessly if either of them had gone through anything like that.
Again, that's the kinda stuff people do when they have no expectations of doing anything else or the desire to go further.
Funny to me.
When I went to the prom in '89, my parents weren't even home. I'd stacked my own dough, borrowed a white dinner coat from my boy's mom who managed a tux rental store, and gotten a coworker to rent me a car. I went and picked my date up to go out to eat with my boys and their dates.
Wasn't any parent(s) in sight when any of us left our homes that evening. And there damned sure wasn't these "Departure Parties".

Hard to call them 'parties' tho. It was mostly family and folks on the block with the house decorated to send off the kids and take photos. The basic send-off still rocks here in Philly.
Social media done changed the game tho. Now these kids (and parents) are competing with the whole US, instead of just showing off their kid for the fam and neighborhood.

I've been suicidal before and this isn't it. But I am definitely down in the muck.

You have a psychiatrist, I'm guessing, who prescribed that. But what about a psychologist?
Don't hesitate to let your doctors know what's going on with you and your medication. Sometimes it takes several tries to find the right one and the right dosage.
and lightweight jaded.. and I can hold a grudge about shit that really doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things. I'm also somewhat of a hater. With all that said, my instagram suggestions keep populating pics/posts from someone doing something that they unabashedly rode hard AGAINST ever doing in their lifetime....and I feel some kinda way about it. Lightweight want to call them out in the comments....but i'ma chill doe.... I don't like this part of me.

I don't trust many people, don't get too close to many people either. I may like a few folks, but I really really don't get too close to people. The last few months I started to feel bad about not really responding when she would say "love yall" to us or to me. Love is not an easy emotion to me and even less something I would say.
But more and more I've come to accept that she genuinely cares about us/me, that she may not be my Family, but that she's become family, and I ride tough for family. I'm one of the toughest friends you can have if I consider you family.
