I'm in the city, but there's a wooded area near me. At night we get raccons, possums, and the occasional rabbit too. Every now and then coyotes make their way into the city too ( those smart mofos walk along the train tracks.)

Dropping food like that ain't really an issue for me. It's when folks drop stuff that gets blown from one yard to the next and that never decomposes.

...like the whole styrofoam container of General Tsos just laying on the sidewalk, rice and sauce everywhere. Then it rains and shit gets all mushy. It's a pain to clean up, too.

I think the worst I was were these young women from around the way w/ their kids at the park (not a neighborhood park, either. One you gotta drive through). After changing the baby's diaper in the minivan, I watched this broad turn and throw the bag w/ dirty diaper into the park that she *just* came out of and was playing in with her children.

There was a trashcan about 50' away too.

As long as I'm not tossing that stuff all willy nilly into other people's yards, I don't see the issue. It's gonna be food for some animal or insects as far as I'm concerned. I live in the suburbs and I got a lot of trees and bushes in my backyard. If I'm out there, I damn sure will toss an apple core there.

If I'm somewhere like a park or whatever that has a lot of brush, tree lines, etc., then I have no problem tossing a banana peel there if there aren't any trash cans nearby. I won't toss bags, junk, or what have you in those areas but small amounts of food, no problem.
