you have trouble believing a married couple has hard days?

why would you not believe that or think you would be able to overcome life once you were married?

shit happens... you deal with it.

when I hear people say marriage is hardwork
I don't understand what it means.

like, the guy I was talking to gave the example of, "what if the spouse were a drunk". I won't deny that hardship; however, I'm thinking its an issue that existed beforehand. do people become drunks after they enter marriage? If so, why is that...

I guess for me, I can't imagine marrying someone whom I wasn't totally in love with. Where the thought of our commitment being "hard" would never crosses my mind. I'm dedicated to you, flaws and all...

my reality isn't everyone's

it sounds good tho

but once your husband shows his flaws and fucks up the money, cheats, lies, doesn't come home for 2 days or comes home drunk and breaking tables cause he lost all the money gambling..

keeping it cool/calm/collected is HARD WORK.

now you can definitely replace hard work with love, dedication, understanding, etc...

but it's the same damn thing...

you are just using different words to describe it.

didn't you just have an old flame thru? The feelings and emotion that you felt and how you handled it... that's HARD WORK!!!

now, the first time I got angry but realized i was in my feelings, apologized and promised to do better.

a week later she hit me with the snarky "and clean up, i had to blah, blah, blah..is it really too hard to grab a broom"

i gave her a stfu look... i cleaned up 6 straight days and forgot once cause the baby was wildin and it slipped my mind once i changed her and got her ready for bed.

3 or 4 times a week she doesnt have time to clean up cause shit happens...

does a nigga remind her, point it out, get mad and tell her to use a gotdamn broom? nah... i just clean the shit up and KIM.

but since she is home during the day and i give her the last feeding after I get home from work I'm supposed to be on it every time.

and another thing... lol, she gets mad when i ask her where shit is but she is always rearranging shit. I aint got time to look all over the house when i can ask, she can answer and thats it.

Who isn't a different as a 50 year old than they were 25 year old?

Successful marriage is largely about managing and accepting those changes. If you naturally make all the same changes at the same time as your partner then it might be easy, but it's a constant process and for many it requires work. Two people entirely in love in their 20s might find they have little in common in their 40s.

Assuming your partner will never change for the rest of their natural life is a *really* good way to end up hiring a divorce lawyer.

In response to Reply # 0

Combine lack of sidewalks, with lack of public lighting, weak urban density, and an overwhelming car culture and you're taking your life into your hands trying to walk in most jurisdictions. People have no sense of "pedestrians have the right of way" down here. I've almost got into fights and knocked off mirrors of people making turns against the light while I'm in the crosswalk.

Hell, in parts of the Atlanta metro, you can walk for a least a half a mile before you get to some semblance of a cross walk and even then, the lights aren't timed for people to get across the street safely with traffic converging in about 8 different directions.

Streets won't let me chill.

Gantt https://www.ganttcenter.org/

if you have kids, Discovery Place: www.discoveryplace.org/

Hit up the Epicenter and Music Factory for bars, they also have a Comedy Zone and you might catch a good comedian sliding through.
epicentrenc.com
avidxchangemusicfactory.com/
https://www.cltcomedyzone.com/

Food, hit up Floyds for that real soul food.. it's kitchen style, not sexy at all but the portions are off the chain.
www.floydssoulfood.net/

If you like beer check out any of the 50 million breweries in Charlotte.

Hit up Sports Bar One
http://sportsoneclt.com/

Sydneys Martini Bar has live jazz most nights
http://sydneysmartiniandwinebar.com/

Uptown is small, walkable and pretty easy to navigate on foot.

If you are driving try to get to University area around the little lake, always a nice amount of people walking around and there are bars and restaurants around it.

Noda is small but that have a nice taco spot Cabo Taco and there are bars in that area as well.

If you like desserts and coffee you have to hit up Amelies
http://www.ameliesfrenchbakery.com/charlotte-noda

its open 24/7.. there is a hookah bar in the complex as well. It's right next to Noda.

If it’s a bunch of inconsiderate assholes walking through traffic with that “you ain’t gonna do shit about it either” attitude, well, sucks for them.

Maybe don’t be an asshole in the street with their little challenge and maybe they don’t get run over because sometimes they’ll come across an asshole with the benefit of a two ton death machine at their command and they kind of have the advantage there.

If it’s kids and old ladies and people in crosswalks, that’s horrible.

At any rate you can use this to your advantage. If your tomatoes aren’t growing, maybe you can fertilize the soil with the carcass of one of the dipshit Darwin awardees. Charlotte gets one less selfish asshole gumming up traffic, they get to be an organ donor many times over and you get delicious tomatoes!

Everyone wins!

I don’t feel sorry for inconsiderate people who walk through traffic. They only do it because they know most people aren’t willing to catch a case over it. Pedestrians rightly have the right of way but as with any right, abusing it might not work out so well.

Problem is… sometimes they’ll do that shit to someone who is just as much or more of an asshole and they’re not going to win a fight with the asshole with a car.

I really don’t see why you guys are so incredulous about that. If the scrawny runt in high school picks on some overgrown corn fed fucker named Moose and Moose whoops his ass, well… maybe don’t pick a fight with Moose.

I don't understand the problem with that.

If it's the bit about tomatoes, I don't see how anyone can see it as anything other than an obvious joke.

Where’s the reveling?

>this is akin to street harassers getting castrated and me
>exclaiming how awesome that place is...except even more tone
>deaf and ridiculous

Uh… NO. That’s a terribly inaccurate analogy. For one, castration isn’t an obvious and direct consequence to street harassment. There’s no basic cause and effect there.

It’s more like a woman hitting a man because she knows social taboos prevent him from hitting her back… and you/me not really giving a fuck if she gets hit back.

That’s a quantum fucking leap from YEAH THAT’S AWESOME FUCK HER UP MAN!

It says so much about you that you actively choose to grossly overinflate my words to make your point.

You’ve repeatedly made the leap from “sucks for them” to “awesome! Celebrate, good times, COME ON!”

>the fact that this is how you rationalize this is incredible

What am I “rationalizing” by pointing out very basic cause and effect?

>i have no patience for inconsiderate people nor morons

“sucks for them” is extra as fuck?
“I’m not losing sleep over an obvious consequence” is extra as fuck?

Do you just really need a good dose of outrage today?

>unfunny joke combined with an unhinged-sounding

“sucks for them” is an unhinged view?
“not losing sleep over it” is an unhinged view?

Jeebus, the criteria for “unhinged” is becoming a minefield. When did“sucks for them” become “awesome! let’s fucking party!”

>pedestrians (which are as common as inconsiderate drivers btw)
>is so far beyond my own general disdain for the average person

To be fair you don’t even seem to know wha you’re so outraged about because you had to pull a madlib on my actual words to reach that wild ass conclusion.

you point out a flaw in my analogy using obvious hyperbole and introduce one even worse and then have the nerve to accuse me of "overinflating"

intellectually dishonest as fuck

see how i can give you credit for finding a flaw in my analogy, still insult you, and still be intellectually honest about how your analogy was even shittier...

castration was a better consequence bc it displayed how dire the consequences are to benign yet problematic behavior

but you do have a point...being an inconsiderate asshole has dire consequences when you are a pedestrian but cheerleading those consequences even jokingly as "Sounds like my kind of city" is disgusting

a better analogy would be if the male feminists beat the street harasser to death or severe injury i guess though still a bit of a stretch of the causal relationship (that causal relationship isn't major point of the analogy...it's the severity of the consequences)

>you point out a flaw in my analogy using obvious hyperbole and
>introduce one even worse and then have the nerve to accuse me
>of "overinflating"

Your analogy didn't have *a* flaw. It WAS a flaw. All of it. Every word of it. It was nowhere close. Mine was much more in line with what I'm saying.

Getting hit by a car while walking slowly in the street is a direct and realistic consequence.

A weaker person hitting a stronger person and getting hit back is a direct and realistic consequence.

Hitting *on* someone and getting castrated is not a direct or realistic consequence.

>intellectually dishonest as fuck

LOL you equated this to castrating a man for hollering. That's not intellectually dishonest, it's just flat out fucking stupid. Your creepy need to be outraged seems to be blinding you to basic logic and reason. It was just plain fucking stupid. It's intellectually inept.

You're willing to accept that abject failure in logic because you need to sniff some outrage lines today.

>see how i can give you credit for finding a flaw in my
>analogy, still insult you, and still be intellectually honest
>about how your analogy was even shittier...

Well, no. You just said it was shittier. You still haven't articulated how it worse, while I articulated precisely why mine was appropriate and yours was way outside the realm of realism.

>castration was a better consequence bc it displayed how dire
>the consequences are to benign yet problematic behavior

LOL. no. It's not a *realistic* or even *reasonable* consequence for the *act*. You can be an asshole wandering the street on some WHAT? and get hit by a worse asshole *or* someone just not paying attention.

PLEASE explain how getting castrated is a remotely realistic consequence for hollering. When does that happen? How is that a natural consequence?

See, you're too intellectually fucking stupid to see how wildly off base that was. It doesn't play logically. It only works in your head because you're having an outsized emotional response. Rather than accept that your emotional reaction isn't supported AT ALL by anything I've said, you're doubling down.

Because you're addicted to outrage.

>but you do have a point...being an inconsiderate asshole has
>dire consequences when you are a pedestrian but cheerleading
>those consequences even jokingly as "Sounds like my kind of
>city" is disgusting

lol. So much fake, manufactured outrage. You really need that shit too. It's like food or something, caffeine, I dunno, maybe you're in recovery or some shit and needed a new fix. I don't really know why but it's fucking telling that you've focused exclusively on that header without considering EVERY OTHER WORD I'VE SAID that boils my stance down to "sucks for them, I'm not crying over it".

Because you're an outrage junkie.

>a better analogy would be if the male feminists beat the
>street harasser to death or severe injury i guess though still
>a bit of a stretch of the causal relationship (that causal
>relationship isn't major point of the analogy...it's the

>The fact that "Sounds like my kind of city" = "sucks for them"
>is absolutely rich for someone saying all the shit below

"sucks for them" comes after "sounds like my kind of city".... which puts "my kind of city" into context.

But hey, get your outrage fix for the day, junkie. You need it and I'm here to help.

shit, i think this keyboard is starting to have issues too...

please have the last word until i can properly spend time explaining that your analogy was in fact worse than mine bc my opinion is more important than yours and how "sucks for them" is more doubling down than contexutalizing "My type of city"...ARRGGHGHGHGG

>the world revolves around u...

Uh.. ok. That’s an interesting addition to the discussion, please expound.

Also… What does that have to do with the topic exactly?

>im an outrage addict despite showing for years i just hate
>idiocy and so against kneejerk bullshit...

In this post, yes. It’s a petty, sarcastic insult relevant to what we’re discussing.

>anyone who notices how much of a full of shit narcissist you
>are is stalking you and following u

Still lost on what this has to do with the subject.

At any rate, I’ve applied this to guys like legs who are, whether you or he wants to admit it or not, very consistent responders, far more than others.

I love how you like the part where other people “point out” what a “full of shit narcissist” I am, yet people very rarely respond when I break down the facts behind whatever their accusing me of. Like in this post: Legs completely refuses to engage on any of the nuances of the post. it’s just NOPE YOU SAID MY KIND OF CITY THE END ITS OVER!

He’s “this is the way it is because I said so! The end!”
I’m “this is the way it is and here are the reasons why based on what’s been said”.

He consistently likes to take things I say WAY out of context and NEVER acknowledge ANY fact that can downplay their position on me. This is illustrated perfectly in the way he- and you, here in this thread- play up “my kind of city” while you downplay “sucks for them”.

You have an agenda and an initial impression that you refuse to back down from regardless of the facts.

Still don’t what this has to do with your hilariously angry and wildly off base tirade.

>and since that's not
>something you seem prepared to label me with...i'm an outrage
>addict lol
>what's your reasoning for that again? oh, me calling you a
>shitty person who said something shitty...oh the rage...

I don’t label you with that because you don’t fit the bill. Legs does. There’s a difference.
And yes, you’re in here *to* be outraged. You actually WANT me to party over people getting mowed and , more to the point, you want me to want them mowed down, as opposed to the fucking TRUTH, which is that I just don’t’ give a fuck if and when they are.

So yeah, you’re heer to double down on your outrage. My reasoning is based on the fact that I said “my kind of city” and you trumpeted that as irrefutable proof that I’m partying over people getting run over. In the same post I said “sucks for them, it’s basic cause and effect” and that, well, that doesn’t matter to you because the first part caters to your outrage and validates your perception of me. Since “sucks to be them” doesn’t validate your outrage, you downplay it.

So yes, you’re actively choosing outrage when another reasonable option is clearly available.

Sounds like a junkie to me.

>He consistently likes to take things I say WAY out of context
>and NEVER acknowledge ANY fact that can downplay their
>position on me. This is illustrated perfectly in the way he-
>and you, here in this thread- play up “my kind of city”
>while you downplay “sucks for them”.

this is bullshit...the reason it seems like people are dodging it is bc there is no way to convince u that "sucks for them" is only slighly less fucked up than "My kind of city"

This is like Bill O'Reilly saying something incendiary...backpedaling and then blaming the so-called outrage brigade for being upset at his not only shitty initial statement but also the shitty and ineffective "follow-up"

are you unfamiliar with how "sucks for them" really just sounds like a slightly more apathetic version of "My type of city?"

do you really sit here and pretend that's the case? is that how language works in your head?

That's the "You're irredeemably unattractive..." subject line "but i'd still hit on a drought, i guess" body type of post...

you wanna blame the outrage on the people that received the message that you poorly delivered fine...go ahead and do that

but not even once called out on how shitty the initial statement was...you double down by not acknowledging that the rest of the message not only did a shitty job of contextualizing...it actually was more in line with your original shitty shock title

making shock titles and then sarcastically calling people who find it wild, offensive, unhinged..."outraged" is awesome though

"sucks for them"

you the only person i know who would think following up with that minimizes a shitty stance...#bluelivesmatter..."sucks for them"

lol, i'm dying...i'm glad you don't actually find it gratifying that pedestrians get hurt and killed over small inconveniences but amused that you don't see how nothing you said in the body of the post (or more amazingly, since...) really counters that but hey...u got it

"I don’t feel sorry for inconsiderate people who walk through traffic. They only do it because they know most people aren’t willing to catch a case over it. Pedestrians rightly have the right of way but as with any right, abusing it might not work out so well."

I like how you seem to know exactly why they do it...and don't acknowledge that hitting them is still almost always avoidable

have you ever jaywalked?
have you ever made an ill-advised street crossing?
what about kids?
The mentally ill?

the person with the power should likely deal with inconsiderate assholes without hitting them with said vehicles...now if you want to stick to just situations where responsible able-minded humans intentionally earn darwinism awards...we can do that and it seems that what you're trying to do (poorly)...but to tunnel vision on that scenario when many hit and runs likely won't fit into that narrative is odd as fuck

because that's what you do.

Shit even your new bff called it "apathy" which is definitively not "joy".

And that’s exactly what you’re doing now: cherry picking a moment out of context and presenting it as though it summarizes the whole story.

That’s pretty much every interaction you ever have with me.
I also knew you’d be one of the few people to respond to that post after I made it.

I didn’t know you’d pick that line because I’m exceedingly clever, but because it was obvious.

You’re just that predictable. I say some shit and YOU will come running more often and more consistently than anyone else. You can deflect that with your cheap seat Rockwell cracks but you and I both know that’s just a fact.

Well, no. I didn't predict it afterward, I just *told you* after. You really think you're not the most reliably clockwork troll around these parts but that's exactly what you are.

>Thats not how it works, thats not how any of this

>You have to predict it before or it makes you look like a

I CLEARLY give a fuck how you perceive me.

At any rate I don't announce that you'll be among the first and most fervent responders anytime I'm in GD, yet I absolutely know that to be a stone cold fact every time out. It's not a prediction so much as a long established given.

>CT: "Show me where I said XYZ"

more wild paraphrasing. it's as though the actual information available is insufficient to make your case. Here's another given:

Nearly every time I see a post where you spend any time writing more than one sentence, I know the bulk of it's going to be a fucking madlib. Again, I don't announce it but I know it's coming and I'm usually correct. I also point it out after the fact and every time you deny it. in this very post, you've responded more than anyone outside of your new make-out partner by a LOT. And that's usually the case no matter how much you deny it, Cupcake.

You don't want to believe you're a predictably persistent presence when I post, but you are exactly that.

If that were the case you people wouldn't have needed so much paraphrasing. When you have to change the verbiage to make your point, you don't have a point.

>This is like Bill O'Reilly saying something
>incendiary...backpedaling and then blaming the so-called
>outrage brigade for being upset at his not only shitty initial
>statement but also the shitty and ineffective "follow-up"

Lol yet another analogy. You rely on them so much it makes it seem like your argument is insufficient to stand on its own. Curious.

>are you unfamiliar with how "sucks for them" really just
>sounds like a slightly more apathetic version of "My type of
>city?"

If that were sufficient to make your point you and your newfound frenemy wouldn't have needed to upgrade it to phrases like "celebrating death". Of course it's apathetic. That's the entire fucking point.

What do you think "not losing sleep" means?

It means I don't care.
It means indifference.
A complete lack of concern.

It means...FUCKING APATHY.

>do you really sit here and pretend that's the case? is that
>how language works in your head?

Lol. You said exactly what I said several times and now you're asking this bullshit?

>you wanna blame the outrage on the people that received the
>message that you poorly delivered fine...go ahead and do that

Funny, Trinity got it just fine.
My position was plainly stated and consistent throughout.

You had an emo ass reaction and don't want to walk it back.

>but not even once called out on how shitty the initial
>statement was...you double down by not acknowledging that the
>rest of the message not only did a shitty job of
>contextualizing...it actually was more in line with your
>original shitty shock title

It perfectly contextualized it. Just like my analogy was more apt than your wildly off base and overly sensational castration nonsense.

>you the only person i know who would think following up with
>that minimizes a shitty stance...#bluelivesmatter..."sucks for
>them"

Another weird conclusion with no foundation in anything real. Just wild flailing.

>lol, i'm dying...i'm glad you don't actually find it
>gratifying that pedestrians get hurt and killed over small
>inconveniences but amused that you don't see how nothing you
>said in the body of the post (or more amazingly, since...)
>really counters that but hey...u got it

Lol this is just plain false, considering my initial post expressed indifference and not gratification. It's odd how Trinity got it but the agenda driven outrage junkies are mystified.

>"I don’t feel sorry for inconsiderate people who walk
>through traffic. They only do it because they know most people
>aren’t willing to catch a case over it. Pedestrians rightly
>have the right of way but as with any right, abusing it might
>not work out so well."

>I like how you seem to know exactly why they do it...and don't
>acknowledge that hitting them is still almost always
>avoidable

Actually i said several times that most people are sensible enough not to run them over. So...yeah. Wrong again. Further, my initial statement- that you just quoted- said "abusing it might not work out so well". I'm clearly looking at the exceptions and not the rule so it's odd that you think you're scoring a point because I didn't also point out the rule. Especially since I still did, more than once I believe.

>have you ever jaywalked?
>have you ever made an ill-advised street crossing?
>what about kids?
>The mentally ill?

None of these things fit the bill of what I'm talking about, which again, makes your outrage that much more misplaced.

>the person with the power should likely deal with
>inconsiderate assholes without hitting them with said
>vehicles...

I've said this more than once. Most people are sensible enough not to run them over. Not sure what you think you're explaining here. I covered this.

now if you want to stick to just situations where
>responsible able-minded humans intentionally earn darwinism
>awards...we can do that and it seems that what you're trying
>to do (poorly)...but to tunnel vision on that scenario when
>many hit and runs likely won't fit into that narrative is odd
>as fuck

LMAO this is your crowning glory.

My initial post was crystal fucking clear that it WAS tunnel vision on that scenario. THATS WHAT THE FUCKING POST WAS ABOUT. One particular scenario. And yet, here you are bitching and raging away over my general apathy toward the extreme exception.

Great fucking job, junkie.

"relying" on her?

No, see, I've explained and defended myself perfectly fine without mentioning her. Of course you'll pretend that I've turned her into a crutch but she's been mentioned minimally. Sorry, wrong... again.

>the initial statement or the need for such a shock-title
>undermines the sincerity of your apathy...period...we don't
>believe you...u need a few more Trinity's bruh bruh

lol what

it "undermines the sincerity of my apathy"?

Holy shit, talk about splitting hairs. Now you admit it's apathy but, it's just not sincere enough for you? Way to move the goal post after I shut that one down.

I mean, YOU even called it apathy. You asked if I was unable to see how one statement was less apathetic than the other. Of course that was long after I expressed indifference... in my initial post no less, but yeah, keep moving those goal posts and thinking you scored a touchdown, champ.

>you still haven't admitted that the initial wording was
>shitty...hmm, how odd and rely on someone who already thinks
>of you in a positive way would "get" u but not 1 stalker and 2
>seemingly otherwise neutral observers...hmmm

What's there to admit? It's plain and clear as day. I love how "shitty" is the best adjective you have.

And yes, it screams volumes that the one person who didn't have an agenda didn't filter my words through her bias. You do realize Trinity and I have disagreed plenty over the years, right? She didn't get ME. She got what the fuck I was saying.

Still, for argument's sake, if my initial wording was so awful but you still got it, that means that your earlier tantrum and all the subsequent arguing you've done is about nothing more than.... what?

You didn't find my phrasing articulate enough?

If you genuinely "got it", that's the only real argument you have left and you're just arguing about how articulate my initial wording was. If you "got it", everything else is just you being mad and petty and unwilling to backdown from your initial tantrum.

>but let's continue to talk about how your analogy is better
>and not focus on the nuance i brought up like how you can read
>the mind of pedestrians making poor walking decisions
>look who's dodging now?

lol WHAT. You dodged like half that last post.

At any rate, nothing to dodge. As you so astutely observed- it took you like 12 posts and even then you hilariously, ineptly tried to score a 'point' with it- my initial post was about a very narrow circumstance.

I also love how you say this after COMPLETELY sidestepping my last post about that Ezzential bullshit where I very clearly said the following:

"It's not as though we're discussing a specific pedestrian that we all know in a specific incident with plenty of information available to form a conclusion."

So again... I expressed a very general sentiment about a very narrow exception to the rule, and here you are spitting a bunch of irrelevant shit that I addressed before you thought you had a "gotcha!"

>so many nuanced thoughts...how can i ever parse them with all
>this outrage and personal animus in the way?

I love how you keep making jokes about this like you didn't show up aggressive as fuck in a way that wasn't justified by content of the post you responded to.

again...YOU failed to NARROW that down as much as you seem to think you did mainly bc of one faulty assumption on the intent of certain pedestrians...as much as they annoy me with their poor decisions and perceived inconsiderate nature...i'm empathetic enough to realize

a.) i don't know their motivations for their poor decisions or mistake...so it's a bit harsh to justify apathy or disdain on the assumption that they intentionally meant to...true apathy would be silence...not jokes, backpedalling, and other forms of bullshittery
b.) narrowing down into that scenario is in poor taste, completely misguided, and unproductive when discussing the Original post. it's as stupid as hell and undermines this narrative of you and your so-called apathy...you know what apathetic people do...not care...your responses (including the initial response) do not fall in line with that...doesn't matter when or how i figured out that was the narrative you were angling for in this trainwreck of a post bc i've largely only insulted you for your initial response and the stances taken since
c.) have you or yours ever jaywalked or not followed pedestrian guidelines (with or without being considerate of traffic)? would you also feel "apathy" in those instances?
d.) your narrow set of circumstances completely ignores the role of the person in the vehicle

i've got a healthy disdain about a ton of people...and sometimes i take shitty stances on things...i rarely try to pass them off as apathy but that's me...and maybe you really are just that apathetic...that's really not that much better bc the consequences really don't fit with the offense (other than the causal affect you seem to think i'm not acknowledging)

>i value your perceptions on who is bugging out

I didn’t ask and don’t care what you do or don’t value.

>then why bring her into it in the first place?

Doesn’t matter since I wasn’t “relying” on her as you incorrectly assumed.

>u sure shut me down...

You moved the goalpost from “don’t you see it’s just a lesser form of apathy” to “well it’s insincere anyways”.

So yeah, I did. Otherwise… no need to move the endzone.

>if you can say the subject line and then follow it up with
>"sucks for them" as if that's not a common phrase for people
>who really mean "im glad my disdain for this group of people
>results in their misfortune"

Interesting take.

I googled this just for kicks to see what this common phrase “Really means” and the very top answer was

“phrase uttered to allow the person receiving it that you don't give a shit about their problems.”

That’s exactly the way I used it. Soooooo….. yeeeeeeah. Sucks for you.

>that assumes i initially got it from your original post which
>would be yet another incorrect assumption on your
>part..."sucks for them" is not normally seen as genuinely
>apathetic and especially nowhere near empathetic

“phrase uttered to allow the person receiving it that you don't give a shit about their problems.”

One definition of apathy is a lack of concern.
In other words, I don’t give a shit.
In other words… sucks for you.

So yeah. You’ve moved the goalpost trying to emphasize your personal perception of a colloquial phrase over not only my use but, as I’ve already proven, that of many others. At the absolute best, this is a wash and an absolute moot point for you.

Also, I certainly never claimed to be empathetic on the subject so that’s not exactly something to call me on. I claimed to be apathetic, which you claim is “insincere” and stated “sucks for them” as my phrasing for apathy which, yet again, is a colloquial phrase that means… I don’t give a fuck. Which is a lack of concern. Which is apathy.

Yeah. Just, you know, take the L on that one.

>no, i also found it to be idiotic phrasing in general and
>displays more disdain than the apathy you seem to be trying so
>hard to convince us of but please continue being as much a
>scumbag as those unlucky asshole pedestrians

Cool. I just deaded that like three times.
Please continue to clutch your little pearls.

>what did i dodge? and let's stay focused on what you've dodged
>since jump which i'll get to in a sec

LMAO

The clear implication in that statement “Don’t focus on me, the other participant in this conversation. This is only about you.”

Which is fucking absurd. If you don’t want your words, or lack thereof, to be scrutinized, take your clutched pearls and go home.

>not my fault this is irrelevant...but i will take blame for
>bringing up other hypocrisy as a gotcha in this post but
>again...it wasn't worth responding to bc it showed little to
>no ability to even want to understand why i thought your
>initial phrase was fucked up...your statement was outrageous
>but i wasn't outraged

LOL you called it hypocrisy and I clearly articulated why it made no sense.
And you’re little “shitburger” or whatever idiotic word you used was absolutely a sign of outrage.

>again...YOU failed to NARROW that down as much as you seem to
>think you did mainly bc of one faulty assumption on the intent
>of certain pedestrians...as much as they annoy me with their
>poor decisions and perceived inconsiderate nature...i'm
>empathetic enough to realize

No. Again, it was plain, clear, and consistent. You wanted to add a bunch of ridiculous qualifiers. What about the kids! Mentally ill!

Again, you added extra shit to justify your emo tantrum.

>a.) i don't know their motivations for their poor decisions or
>mistake...so it's a bit harsh to justify apathy or disdain on
>the assumption that they intentionally meant to...true apathy
>would be silence...not jokes, backpedalling, and other forms
>of bullshittery

I don’t give a fuck what you think. I didn’t ask you for your thoughts. I don’t care about your stance.

More to the point, I don’t care about you.

And no, you don’t get to determine what “true” apathy is just to shoehorn your square pegged anger into this. You’re taking that ridiculously stupid tact of “well if you REALLY didn’t care you wouldn’t say ANYTHING AT ALL” even though the “anything” was me saying “I don’t care. It’s a ridiculously inept argument.

>c.) have you or yours ever jaywalked or not followed
>pedestrian guidelines (with or without being considerate of
>traffic)? would you also feel "apathy" in those instances?

Lol what. This is more of you trying to cram other scenarios into the mix. Also, I’ve already answered this.

>d.) your narrow set of circumstances completely ignores the
>role of the person in the vehicle

LOL That’s because I don’t care. You walk in the street like a tough guy because you know most people have the sense not to mow your ass down, sucks to be you when you come across another asshole like yourself.

>i've got a healthy disdain about a ton of people...and
>sometimes i take shitty stances on things...i rarely try to
>pass them off as apathy but that's me...and maybe you really
>are just that apathetic...that's really not that much better
>bc the consequences really don't fit with the offense (other
>than the causal affect you seem to think i'm not
>acknowledging)

Lmao thanks for the lecture but, again: don’t care.

That’s the thing: I’m defending my stance not because I somehow care what you think of my character, but because I’m not going to allow a worthless, agenda driven pile of shit like you to impugn my character. You’ll see that and take your usual reductionist tact of SEE IF YOU DIDN’T CARE YOU WOULDN’T RESPOND, but again: you’re a pile of shit driven to justify your baseless outrage and I’m just not going to allow that to go unchallenged.

>yes, making thoe mistakes can end fatally...but it's not like
>the vehicle is unmanned...there is a person who has a larger
>responsibility behind the wheel...and even if that person
>plays chicken with a car...it doesn't just "suck for
>them"...it sucks for everyone...period

Not everyone, just the dumbass trying to be a tough guy in the middle of traffic and the unfortunate driver who will likely catch a case and/or get sued into poverty.

And YES, abso-fucking-lutely, if they’re playing chicken with a car, it not only sucks for them, fuck them entirely.

At that point they do deserve whatever they get. That's a hard concept for many people to grasp: sometimes people actually do deserve the consequences they signed up for, even if they didn't think those consequences would actually arrive.

>wtf, yo is so aggressive and out of pocket...my bad fam

First, we’re not fam.

Second, you know good and well which post I was referring to.

I mean, if you want to wander in the middle of traffic all slow while eyeballing the drivers who have to stop because you're an inconsiderate asshole, have at it.

Just know that if someone decides not to put up with your dumb little act of defiance and mows your ass down, it's your fault.

Kids play in the streets up here on back blocks. Riding bikes, skateboards, scooter and those hoverboard things. People walk here, a lot. That means a lot of street crossings. There's a huge bike culture here. Delivery trucks everywhere. Buses. Trolleys. Plenty of things that force drivers to stop, pay attention and share the road. Most people here appear patient and don't have a problem with it. The main ones that I see complaining are suburban transplants that want the city street to be like their little subdivision where they can get an HOA to ban everything from being in the road (including parked cars... wtf?)

Living in a city that predates the automobile by over 200 years helps to see how streets really should be mixed-use public resources, not private tracks for automobile owners.

I mean, I listed one pretty specific scenario that doesn’t remotely approach the things you’re talking about. In fact… I specifically said that I wasn’t talking about the sort of things you listed.
It’s weird how you can completely ignore that part and then pretend that my disdain for people who intentionally stop traffic *because they can* is somehow also applicable to kids and bikes and people just going on with their day.

It’s not one sided. Motorists shouldn’t be the only ones with the responsibility to be respectful and considerate of everyone else. Pedestrians should be equally considerate and respectful of motorists.

If kids are playing in the street, motorists should *fucking obviously* be mindful and respectful of that and, you know, not run them over. Kids should still be mindful as well and… get out of the way so the motorist can pass. If you think that’s an unreasonable concept, I’m all ears. If you think the motorist should have to back up, turn around and find some other route so that those kids won’t have to move aside for five seconds, I’d love to hear your reasoning.

STILL... that is NOT THE SAME as what I was talking about. At all.

I happen to think a community should consist of people being respectful and considerate of other people. You seem to think that need for consideration and respect only applies to motorists. I’m open to clarification on that, but that seems to be your general slant.

So, much like legs, you took a very broad and reductionist perspective on my post in a way that is entirely inconsistent with the more specific nature of my post.

But hey, knock yourself out with your fake outrage.

This is a big city here. 11k/sq. mile population density. You think people don't run out into the street all the time? And guess what... the car drivers slow/stop, the people cross, and a few seconds later the car driver is moving again.

Our streets look like this:
https://www.google.com/maps/place/North+Philadelphia,+Philadelphia,+PA/@40.0163766,-75.1386312,3a,75y,184.67h,69.11t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1sE-IO6JDS7_qaYY977wUSVQ!2e0!6s%2F%2Fgeo0.ggpht.com%2Fcbk%3Fpanoid%3DE-IO6JDS7_qaYY977wUSVQ%26output%3Dthumbnail%26cb_client%3Dmaps_sv.tactile.gps%26thumb%3D2%26w%3D203%26h%3D100%26yaw%3D96.512344%26pitch%3D0!7i13312!8i6656!4m5!3m4!1s0x89c6b7b95126917b:0x2ec69c3bc918f42e!8m2!3d40.0067623!4d-75.1428632!6m1!1e1

Ain't no one walking to the crosswalk just to cross the street. There's a light or stop sign at the end of EVERY block.

And why do you even see this as a "challenge" anyway?

>Maybe don’t be an asshole in the street with their little challenge

How can a pedestrian "challenge" you when you're controlling a 2+ ton vehicle that's surrounded by a steel cage?

No reason to be so prickly, man.

just can't see how someone can take joy in someone being hit by a car because they "challenged" a car by not moving fast enough when crossing the street.

It's so telling that you need to twist things to such illogical extremes to make a point. If you had a valid argument or a reasonably nuanced perspective you wouldn't need a crutch like that so consistently.

the consequence is too severe to illicit anything more than a sick sense of shameworthy "that's what you get, dumbass" and that makes you the living and unhurt asshole

i can hold shitty pedestrians accountable without taking joy in them getting their "just desserts" and shit

Yes, one line pulled out of context of an entire statement can certainly construe things a certain way.

Good thing there's also a "body" to post more words so I could expound on that thought.

Of course, you predictably did what you always do plucked a sound bite and ignored everything that put it in proper context.

Because you repeatedly used far more inflammatory words than I used to make your point.

I knew exactly what I wrote in my header and knew that’s exactly what you would point to.

Before I asked you to point out one word, you were already adding additional spin that was never there to make your, uh, “point” and I had a feeling that, as always, you’d look at the header as proof while ignoring everything else in that post because the header, on it’s own, appears to say something significantly different than it does as part of the whole. If the words I used actually conveyed the things you seem to think they do, you wouldn’t have needed to use far more inflammatory words the way you did.

The point is that when you have to twist words, rephrase them, and pull them out of context to make your point… YOU DON’T HAVE A POINT.

So when I told you to point out one thing, I was baiting you into proving that point. It’s notably the only time in here that you actually quoted me and then you sat back with your little “now write some long ass post telling people it’s not there” or some shit, again, as though the header was all I said.

It says a lot about you that you view pointing out these facts as “crazy”.

Who is “reveling”?

Here are my exact words. No, really, it's an exact quote.

“it’s a bunch of inconsiderate assholes walking through traffic with that “you ain’t gonna do shit about it either” attitude, well, sucks for them.

Maybe don’t be an asshole in the street with their little challenge and maybe they don’t get run over because sometimes they’ll come across an asshole with the benefit of a two ton death machine at their command and they kind of have the advantage there.”

That’s nowhere close to “reveling”.

My stance is “well, sucks for them” and my reasoning is simple cause and effect: you do X, Y is a potential consequence.

So, again, NO, I’m not shedding tears or losing sleep over people who receive the most obvious possible consequence for their actions.

That’s a thousand miles way from “reveling” or “celebrating death” or any of the other grossly overinflated translations. You people are actively choosing to inflate a very basic sentiment of indifference into something far more malicious. You read “sucks for them” and somehow your brain determines that those words equal “celebrating death” and “taking joy”.

Apologies to your need to be outraged today but there is simply no way a reasonable person connects those dots.

But hey, I’d LOVE to hear an honest, reasonable, and logical explanation of how not losing sleep over something and partying to it are the same thing.

and yes...i think apathy towards those people is shitty despite understanding that people's actions have consequences...

but assuming their motivations for doing so based on our own perceptions is shitty...there's now way around that...

if a pedestrian makes a poor decision...not losing sleep over isn't the same as realizing that it's still avoidable as fuck and definitely not worth joking about since a simple poor decision or benign inconsiderate decision can be fatal

the truly apathetic wouldn't bother to make a shitty shock-title joke about the frequency of pedestrians deaths especially in a post about the frequency of pedestrian Hit and Runs...

that's fucked up...air your grievances about shitty, inconsiderate, assholish people in ways that don't flirt with sociopathic pathology

If so, I didn’t drive the car man.
I wasn’t there.
It wasn’t me.

You should talk to someone about this. Not me, of course, because I sincerely don't give a fuck, but someone.

Anyhow, since you haven’t railed enough on the subject please tell us more about how enraged you are that there are sometimes real consequences for people’s actions and that plenty of people aren’t losing sleep when those consequences come as a result of some idiot being an asshole because they were counting on a social taboo to protect them.

People do this in the middle of traffic. Reasonable, respectful, and considerate people don’t. They wait and time that shit for when the coast is clear.

>guess what... the car drivers slow/stop, the people cross, and
>a few seconds later the car driver is moving again.

Yeah, no shit. Obviously. Reasonable, respectful and considerate people do this and that’s not a point of contention. At all. Not sure what you think you’re explaining here.

>Ain't no one walking to the crosswalk just to cross the
>street.

Cool. Reasonable, respectful and considerate people time that shit out. They don’t just jump in the middle of traffic, taking their sweet ass time while ice grilling drivers who, again, are mostly reasonable, respectful and considerate enough to just put up with it… but you’re playing dumb for the sake of your fake ass pearl clutching.

>And why do you even see this as a "challenge" anyway?

You’re being obtuse. You’re pretending you don’t know EXACTLY what the fuck I’m talking about.

>How can a pedestrian "challenge" you when you're controlling a
>2+ ton vehicle that's surrounded by a steel cage?

So ridiculously obtuse. Again.

>No reason to be so prickly, man.

LOL no reason to keep playing dumb for the sake of this fake ass outrage.

Lol because that makes any sense at all. That's a fucking ridiculous conclusion.

Uh.... No. Not even close.

It's no wonder you tend to stick to empty comments that don't go beyond the header. When you do have a perspective it's almost always some bullshit low-common-denominator take like this.

Trinity understood the sentiment perfectly but somehow it's a struggle for you. I doubt you've had a single for nuanced thought in your life.

That's who it usually is around my way. I believe folks are used to a different relationship between pedestrians and cars back home and aren't expecting to get plowed into when they're sauntering across a 6 lane road, 100 yards from the intersection and crosswalk.

If it’s a bunch of inconsiderate assholes houses next to traffic with that “you ain’t gonna do shit about it either” concrete slab attitude well, sucks for them.

Maybe don’t be an asshole in the half acre plot with their little backsplash and granite countertops and maybe they don’t get run over because sometimes they’ll come across an asshole with the benefit of a two ton death machine at their command and they kind of have the advantage there.

If it’s A frames and old split levels by crosswalks, that’s horrible.

At any rate you can use this to your advantage. If your squash aren’t growing, maybe you can fertilize the soil with the carcass of one of the dipshit Rayn home Darwin awardees. Charlotte gets one less selfish asshole McMansion gumming up a half acre plot, they get to be atiny home donor many times over and you get delicious squash!

Every time I consider moving down south, I remember that I ride both bicycles and motorcycles and can't deal with that passive-aggressive road rage. People taking out their insecurities and failures in life on other road users because now they are behind the wheel of a big-ass SUV and feel fierce, lol.

All the walking and bike riding and what not, thats still fairly new to Charlotte.

Pedestrian traffic in downtown, thats still fairly new to Charlotte.

I've seen plenty of mofos get mowed down at the corner of MLK/2nd street and College. When the DMC was in town, there was about 3-4 pedestrians hit in a week.

Someone who described her mental health problems on many occasions that many OKP's couldn't fucking wait to attack like a pack of rabid dogs whenever she said something a little off?

The OKP that cares SO MUCH about people with mental illness yet routinely tells people- especially people like Ezzential, whose mental health issues were self-reported and widely known- how crazy they are?

LOL you're really trying to use my defense of her against me because I don't care if some random asshole in the street gets hit by a car if certain, specific conditions are met?

You're really me using my compassion for a fellow OKP- someone we know, to some extant, on a personal level, as a point of attack?

Trust me, that makes you a billion times more of a shitty human being than the guy who simply doesn't lose sleep over the asshole pedestrians getting hit by cars. A billion times. There's a solar system sized gap on that one.

The fact that you keep stooping to more and more personal shots like that says an awful lot about you. Trust me, you're the asshole in this equation. Pathetic.

There's nothing inconsistent about showing compassion for a member of this forum whowe mental health issues were well known to everyone who chose to pile on...

... and displaying a general lack of concern for asshole pedestrians getting ran over as a direct result of their as whole behavior.

It's not as though we're discussing a specific pedestrian that we all know in a specific incident with plenty of information available to form a conclusion.

The two situations couldn't be more different.

You can now flip out because I was able to articulate why you made a connection that didn't make a lick of sense instead of making an attempt at being a reasonable human being.
