>of which rhodes should've gotten the game MVP
Bears let Rhodes run all over them because they were playing an extreme version of their Tampa Two, with both safeties nowhere near the box. Chicago was determined not to give up any big vertical plays. see: Manning's first interception, when he tried to go over the top.
after that, Manning audibled to runs against a seven-man box and still completed some clutch throws on all their scoring drives. you think Chicago couldn't have stopped Rhodes and his 3.4 YPC if that was their focus? and a quarter of the team's 200 yards rushing came in the final 10 minutes of the game, up two scores and bleeding the clock.
by the literal sense, Manning was the MVP of that game.
