14. "Anybody catch that Making of South Park special last night?" In response to In response to 0
I thought it was great, makes me really appreciate how good this show is even though episodes are created in less than a week, usually barely making the cut and on the fly the entire time.
As happy as I am as a fan of South Park during the 7 weeks in both spring and fall when new episodes are airing, it must be the most completely miserable time for all of the people involved in making the show, Trey especially. Honestly, when it finally comes time to hang it up, I won't be mad at Trey and Matt at all.
It almost makes me wonder why they don't just turn production into like 10-14 weeks to make the 7 episodes. Especially because it seems like Trey is always upset over the finished product because of how much needed to be cut and because he definitely feels that it was rushed.
Being in the writing room while they bounce ideas around on day 1-2 must be a crazy time, but I do feel bad for all of the animators who basically are at the mercy of Trey towards the end of the week not knowing when they'll actually be able to DO their actual job and needing to wait around, sleep in the office and be ready to get working AS SOON as that script is ready.
They no doubt are having a great time (Trey and Matt), at least during the recording of the episodes. So that gives me hope that they'll at least keep this going for a few more years.
Also, LMAO at them describing their time at the Oscars on acid.
