"Prince Po got the shaft in OK cuz he wasnt flamboyant like PM" Thu Mar-29-12 02:56 PM by ABROCK33
Ive heard the arguments said time and time that Pharoe had the the more electric and memorable verses, his stuff stood out more, etc but I counter that Po was more consistent and steady
without Pos balance a solo from PM wouldve been all over the place. He woulda been like forgotten 90's abstract hip hop group the Kemelions-http: //www.amazon.com/Basement-Arrangements-KameLions/dp/B000008H9D (Liquid dots of chaos was the shizzle!) dope but no real meat to what they were doing
the proof is in their solo careers
most of u have heard PM solos but have u even heard Po's stuff?
Pharoe is a great MC by all accounts but for some reason I just cant put my finger on he doesnt make great lps
Prince Po on the other hand has a better albeit underpromoted solo career
his first lp "The Slickness" was a more balanced debut than "Internal Affairs" but it didnt contain a blockbuster like "Simon says"
His 2nd lp "Pretty black" was great
his 3rd Simian Samouri is the weakest of the bunch but its still good.
For some reason I can listen to him and appreciate him more than Phaores solo lps where he trys to be too eclectic
is he tryin to be Maxwell Wonder Monch?
