But politics (especially local) was part of the job.
At the current job (medical device company), I only talk politics when someone else initiates the convo. Like my boss occasionally likes to talk about it, and we'll chop it up. But his politics are similar to mine. In the past, when someone who disagrees with my politics initiates the convo (about six-seven years ago a contractor started complaining about Obamacare out of nowhere), I just nodded and didn't argue.
