basically that good feeling when you see Shaka Zulu on TV or you see a picture of Harriet Tubman or a little black girl with beads and plaits in her hair... hearing "black" activates that part of my brain first.
It makes my heart swell. I think it always will.
But in our current climate especially, it's followed by a somber remembering of my anger and a fierce feeling of protectiveness.
