I think it's Mack, but there's definitely pressure to put Keelon in as the starter.

Mack is good and has been with Debeor and Grubb longer, but Keelon seems special. qb shouldn't be an issue with either one. I'm guessing whomever doesn't get the nod will leave.

next up, wide receiver. not worried about this group. I'm expecting big things from Coleman-Willimans and getting those drops fixed. got a new coach there, which should be helpful.

where we need improvements are the OL and running back. the OL has been trash for the past few years. they're basically starting over with different personnel and body types. smaller, more athletic seems to be the move to fit the coaching schemes. they've also changed the OL coach.

if we fix that, the backs are talented and diverse enough to get some real yards. and the qb shouldn't have to run for his life and have to be the savior like Ty was last year.

defense was decent last year and should be improved this time around. got mix of experience and talent.

talking about how osu should play TSC instead of sayin lol. not like anyone has actually seen the kid play. and sayin has a pretty good foundation to build on coming off his first season as a RS frosh.

he didn't light the world on fire against Indiana and the U but those were two exceptional defenses and the OL was getting destroyed. writing him off is pretty silly at this point.

schedule is absolutely crazy this year. undefeated regular season is always the goal but that's a tall order this year.

I've seen him throw zero passes of consequence but he at least looked competent last year while he did it. And he's a very legit athlete. Big mistake last year not using him at the goal line.

Looking forward to seeing what he can do in Brohm's system and a weak conference.

I would be fine if they'd gone with Mack, but Keelon would've probably left. they couldn't risk losing him and possibly sending a message to other qb recruits that they may have to wait longer to see the field. patience isn't a thing anymore.

as of a week ago we were dogs in all the lookahead lines for those

those lines are gone now but i legitimately believe we'll beat Tennessee at home, and a likely scenario is a Pitt/Clemson split

could lose all 3 and theres the under. i really dont believe thats going to happen. Godsey has been saying the things about Alberto that seem like more than preseason coach hype, and they seem like a perfect match, but it may not click.

theres also a world where we lose all three and pull it together to get over the hump against UGA and hit 7.

there is bias for sure, but part of that is truly believing in what Key is building, and the comfort associated with knowing the OL will always be good. when you can start with that at the base, thats a solid foundation for success.

i dont bet team wins because thats a long time for an even money bet to be in the oven, but assuming a loss in each swing game seems unrealistic.

save for rare situation such as my Sayin 20:1 heisman bet last year where I took the L of a lifetime by not hedging with Mendoza before the conf champ game.

season win totals aren't always even money though. back in the day i used to play a few if i found an obvious weakness and was getting significant plus money. problem is nowadays with all the roster movement craziness its pretty hard to know what the fuck is going on before the season starts and how teams will look. so i dont even bother looking at season totals.

i listen to all these podcasts where these guys are betting 50 different season win totals, conf champ futures, etc. and it's pretty nuts to me and seems like a guaranteed net loss. I feel like futures bets are for people who are trying to prove to themselves how smart they are.

but anyway i only brought up the season win total for GT to see how your optimism compared to a neutral 3rd party lol.

the only transfer involved with GTs run game is the one who looked like a Doak Walker finalist last year

I hear ya. 2008 was the only game ive ever attended where i knew walking into the stadium/arena that my team was gonna get their doors blown the fuck off. was an absolutely miserable experience.

I feel much better about this season than last knowing we have an OC who isnt one foot out the door like Hartline was (im not mad at him, we all have personal goals and he wants to cut his teeth so he can come back and be the lead guy here, but damn man ..that USF offer came at a horrendous time)

I also miss having an uptempo offense, with quick audibles etc.

Hopefully its a bit more dynamic this year, considering all the speed on the offensive side

Day knew hartline was gonna be a 1 year learn on the job OC and then would be gone for a HC gig. and it cost us a NC.

the good thing at least is that i think day now knows that he needs to hire professional coordinators from this point forward.

wisconsin is prob one of them.

they always had a dominant OL, usually a bunch of mean ass white boys from the state of Wisconsin. now it's a bunch of transfers from all over the country. it's just a different time.

wisconsin qb's have always sucked...it was all about their OL and elite running backs.
