"Beterbiev vs Bivol - Best Boxing Match-up of the Year 10-12-24"

BUY THIS.
Thanks to the great Turki Alalshikh, it's only $19.99. American charge $90 for these kinds of fights. Turki is making these accessible for everyone.

This fight will crown the first Light Heavyweight champion of the 4-belt era. We haven't seen an undisputed champion at Light Heavy since the 3-belt era, 24 yrs ago. That was Roy Jones Jr. Turki got involved with the money to pull this together, because the WBC was refusing to sanction the fight due to Putin's war with Ukraine.

---------------
THE FIGHTERS
---------------
Artur Beterbiev is a KILLER. 20 fights and has stopped ALL of his opponents (even the champions he took the belts from). NONE of his opponents have seen the final bell. EVERYONE who's been in the ring with him has said his power is totally different. Lonnie B said he feels it's an understatement to say he hits hard. He also has decent technical ability. He's obviously great at what he does.

Dmitry Bivol is the slick boxer. Always safety first, but somehow very exciting to watch imo. He outclassed Canelo EASILY. He won about 10 of 12 rounds depsite the scorecards being BS. But Canelo is a smaller guy. He also outclassed Gilberto Ramirez who's current Cruiserweight champion tho. He'll bounce back and forth like Bruce Lee when he's feeling it lol. I just find the guy fun to watch.

There are also some great fights on the undercard. The co-main features Jai Opetaia who's the current best Cruiserweight in the world, facing Jack Massey who's a bigger guy and has fought at Heavyweight before. Jai is titleholder and Jack owns a couple of lesser British titles.

Skye Nicolson is a current Featherweight titlist and boxer who likes to move and stay out of range, picking her shots. She's facing Raven Champman, a come-forward fighter with quicker feet and better punch selection than Skye's previous opponents. This is a very interesting fight with many experts torn on who'll take it home. The styles involved are very similar to the main event.

Fabio Wardley and Frazer Clarke enter a rematch. They fought to a draw last time. This is a Heavyweight fight that promises to be action-packed.

Ben Whitaker has been going somewhat viral for his showboating in the ring. He's also on the undercard.

Chris Eubank is fighting Kamil Szeremeta. I'm just interested in Chris' progress since training with Terence Crawford's trainers.

Saudi's first fighter, Mohammed Alakel, is also making his debut.

>It kicks off at a normal time too right?

I’ve read 6/6:15 ET…. but I don’t think they’re accounting for 45 min of Turki 👳🏾‍♂️ getting full body massaged in the ring and 30 mins of Hearn and Frank Warren singing his praises , and then another 30 min of Turki being named honorary Undisputed Heavyweight Champ, and then another 30 proclaiming how he is the last messenger of Allah So I’m banking on 8pm ring walks.

Edit , undercards are stacked tho might tune in for the whole show

And fuck Muaricio Sulaiman for making us wait so long , and for not putting on this fight in NYC or Vegas instead of that Wahhabi wasteland

Beat punchers.

And yes that is reductive because it’s binary… but I feel like in big fights the guy known as the better “boxer” finds a way to neutralize the power. We’ll see if it plays out that way tonight or if the Biebster (yes I just made that up lol) has the all time great power

Beterbiev has "deceptively good skills" as I keep hearing it described by people who've been in the ring with him. Combining that with his fight-changing power is key. It's been very hard for good boxers to keep him away thus far. As Tim Bradley said tho, when it comes to neutralizing him, it's Bivol or nobody.

Tbh he’s got his hands full w Morrell, someone that he won’t be way bigger than on fight night

175 division so intriguing but these two a cut above the rest

I know there’s no rematch clause but I wouldn’t mind a trilogy

Benavidez is used to being way bigger than his opponenents on fight night, height advantage and everything. Gvozdyk wasn't phased by his punches like the guys at 168. I'm actually surprised he's finally decided to fight Morrell. Morrell is a dog, so it should be a really good fight. Based on Morrell's last fight, I'll probably be picking Benavidez to win tho. A Morrell win wouldn't be surprising at all though. He really wants that Benavidez smoke.

"Great performance from Skye Nicolson to retain her title."

Some top analysts were picking Chapman to win, but Skye went in there and made it look like I thought it would. Since her competition hasn't been great, this is the first time she's truly impressed me, simply because she did it to someone who was an actual threat. The way she picks her opponents off on the way in is a thing of beauty.
Tiara Brown has been calling Skye out for years, and Skye has been quiet, but she finally said she wants that fight next. This should be a very exciting one.
Skye wants Amanda Serrano who keeps ignoring her. After this performance, I think Amanda fights easy fights after this Katie Taylor rematch or retires. Skye Nicolson is a terrible matchup for her.

Fabio Wardley knocked the hell out of Frazer Clark in under a round. Had that man's jaw twisted. That was also the co-main. I didn't realize it would be.

Jai Opetaia made Jack Massey look like easy work for the most part. Massey's corner threw in the towel.

I didn't realize the main even would be on ESPN with the rest of the card on DAZN. Bivol is boxing beautifully through 10.

I thought the draw was the bad judge.

Turns out the draw was the good judge and the other two were terrible

Artur hunted him down & landed bigger shots

Bivol danced around the ring wonderfully and showed how good his high and tight guard is, but he didnt land anything of significance , but Bivol went around the entire post game with sunglasses bc his eye got peppered all night..

I dont know what you guys saw, but Bivol himself said he could have been better and more assertive after the fight.

At the end of the fight he raised in hands in celebration that he didnt get put to the sword like all of other Betberbievs opponents.

I disagreed w the judges cards though, that was crazy.

Both fighters admitted they could have done better. We need a trilogy, and a KO that doesnt leave it up to crooked ass judges whetehr in vegas nyc reno rio or riyadh

This is a commonality I've noticed in the small number of people who scored it for Beterbiev. You all are saying Beterbiev was on the front foot and hurt Bivol more with his shots. These are not scoring criteria. These are consequences of style and power. Bivol was the matador in there, landing clean combinations. Artur couldn't find combinations to save his life, he's just a big puncher. His power was known before the fight. Bivol was far more accurate than Beterbiev as well, throwing less and landing more (one of the scoring critera). This means Bivol's defense was better (that's one of the scoring criteria also). It also means Beterbiev's aggression wasn't very effective (another scoring critera). In fact, Bivol was so accurate than he got greedy at one point. There was never point where Beterbiev landed a lot of shots. It's just that what he was able to land was impactful because he's a big puncher. He didn't have a 100% KO ratio coming into this fight for no reason. Some argue Beterbiev was the ring general because he was coming forward and "fighting his fight", but Bivol fought his fight as well. He moves to offset his opponents rhythm and lands punches. They both did what they do. If you argue that Bivol moved more, I can argue that Beterbiev didn't stop Bivol while Bivol took him to decision like he does damn near everybody lol. In all serious though, ring generalship is the only scoring criteria I could possibly concede on.

>I dont know what you guys saw, but Bivol himself said he could

As you state below, they both said they could've been better. They're both critical of themselves. It's why they're as good as they are.

>At the end of the fight he raised in hands in celebration that
>he didnt get put to the sword like all of other Betberbievs
>opponents.

Beterbiev's corner also told him that he needed a KO to win the fight. Even they knew he was losing.

In response to Reply # 26

Here's a direct quote from Bivol:
"He has very strong punches. his right hand even through my left. My thumb is swollen because I was holding it on my head and he was beating on my hand. I felt like my hand came inside of my head from the power."

When someone punches that hard, your face will be bruised even when you block the shots. Still, those are not scoring blows, so people saying "look at his face" are missing this.

I thought Bivol won the first fight, it felt like this time - it was still really close - but there was less fear of Arthur’s power overall. He knew the punches were hard, but also knows he can take the power which gave him some more confidence.

But I was stunned at the level of cardio both guys showed in Saturday's main event. The defense and movement both guys showed for the most part during all 12 rounds was next level; there weren't too many obvious open holes to exploit during the fight; both guys had to fully earn any clean shots that were landed.

look up Lomachenko highlights when you can, or even Usyk who moves incredibly well for a heavy weight

Obviously nothing could be done about Schofield or DDD, but shit even Mundo vs. Buatsi was good as an opener. Mad I missed that one, but saw highlights

As much as I'm down for the trilogy, I can't help but feel like whoever goes on to face Benavidez won't be the same fighter they were pre-trilogy. I imagine Beterbiev retires, win or lose
