"Terence Crawford vs Israil Madrimov 8-3-24 HUGE fight card!"

At the top of the card is the p4p #1 Terence "Bud" Crawford.
On the heels of slaughtering Errol Spence, and after a year off, he's moving up to 154 to challenge the reigning WBA champion, Israil Madrimov.
Madrimov only has 11 pro fights, but has a VERY extensive amateur background to the tune of 300 fights. He has incredible foot movement, is a natural athlete, and punches so hard that he's called the super welterweight GGG. Most boxers start their pro careers fighting 4 round fights, then 6, then 8, then 10. Madrimov started at 10 rounds, so his pro record is very deceptive.
Personally, he's been my favorite 154 lb fighter for a few years. Bud is my favorite fighter overall.
Madrimov has many tools to trouble Crawford. He covers a lot of ground when he leaps in, and that's the main way I've seen Crawford get caught with punches whether it was Horn, Lundy, or Porter. He also has a wrestling and gymnastics background. The wrestling background and core strength are usually Crawford's advantages. I wonder if he'll have that here. The question to be answer for Madrimov is his ring IQ. I haven't seen him have to use it very much, given his physical gifts. Will Bud challenge him? I think we all expect him to.

This card also features:
Isaac Cruz vs Jose Valenzuela
Andy Ruiz vs Jarrell Miller
Jared Anderson vs Martin Bakole
the AMAZING Andy Cruz vs Antonio Moran
David Morrell vs Radivoje Kalajdzic

Every single one of these fights is pure excitement waiting to happen. If you want to see some great boxing, this is a card worth the purchase. TRUST ME.

I'll put it like this, if Bud wasn't my favorite fighter, I'd be picking Madrimov. I've long said that I got Bud against anyone he decides to get in the ring with, so I gotta ride with my guy. HOWEVER, when I found out he was fighting Madrimov, I was like noooooo lol.
I was 10000% sure Crawford would beat Spence. I'm not so sure he beats Madrimov. This is the stiffest test of his career BY FAR. Madrimov is the real deal. Really creative punch selection and most importantly, he's one of those fighters who finds a way to win just like Bud and any other great fighter. This is a real fight.

Not much you can do when someone's fighting like Madrimov fought. It's really hard to make an entertaining fight of that unless you're wreckless. Madrimov was almost spending entire rounds feinting and level changing without engaging. That's not how he usually fights. I was personally disappointed with Israil's performance. Bud was pretty on-brand as a counterpuncher. It was as if Madrimov was afraid to give Bud anything to counter or was trying to preserve his gas tank, as he's been known to get tired late in fights. I definitely wouldn't say Bud was bored. He was focused.

Bud also didn't mind fighting Spence at 154. This fight was at 154. Spence simply didn't activate the rematch before the deadline. Bud wanted current 154 champion Sebastian Fundora, but PBC arranged to have Spence move up and cut in line, so Bud went for another champion in Madrimov. Spence then gets injured and can't fight Fundora after this fight is made. Bud is really blessed to have Turki Alalsheikh in his corner, because the PBC plays dirty when you don't sign with them, plus they hate his guts for beating the dogshit out of Errol.

its disappointing when fighters get the opportunity of a lifetime and dont leave it all out there,(ie CHarlo vs Canelo)

he must be naive af if he thought he was gonna beat Bud on the cards in a close fight in America.

Fighting against a style like Madrimov fought. This decreased the demand for the Canelo fight, and honestly ... good. Would rather see him at least try to go undisputed at '54 before he calls it. And I think he could do it

I was really disappointed in Madrimov fighting like that though. I'm a huge fan and love his aggression. He was in there feinting and fidgeting forever without mounting any attack. That's not the Madrimov I fell in love with nor the one I paid to see. Bud handled it well though.

I really wanna see the Canelo fight. People are claiming this fight proved he's not ready for Canelo, but I completely disagree. Canelo doesn't fight like Madrimov fought here. Bud's power had Madrimov clinching repeatedly by the end of round 11, so he still has power. Idk if he has enough for Canelo, but I'd love to see. I could also go for him fighting Fundora and Murtazaliev for undisputed at 154 though. Turki Alalshikh said he's made Canelo an offer to fight Crawford and has Vergil Ortiz as a backup in case Canelo doesn't accept the offer, so Idk if Crawford will be around for 3 more fights to go undisputed. Ortiz has turned the Crawford fight down a couple of time already at 147 btw.

But I was also disappointed. I understood why he did it the first half of the fight, but at some point you have to show some fight-winning offense. He did get some good shots in tho. Like you said, he gives everyone at 154 hell

Dream scenario for me = him vs. Fundora, then Tszyu for undisputed (Murtazaliev vs. Tszyu was just ordered)

The Hall of Fame induction seems premature, but the man has already been responsible for multiple fights that we never would've gotten due to promoters failing to work together. My boxing group and I talk a LOT about how much we appreciate him, so I'm not too mad at it.
"His Excellency" is just his title in his country.

Where most people seem to agree is that the card was way too long. GREAT fights. I mean REALLY REALLY GOOD matchups, but the show length could be cut in half. It's a shame to have so many great fights on one card and have people complaining about how long everything took. I actually took a nap during the Eminem show and woke up just in time to catch the main event lol.

lol who the fuck does this little greasy saudi oilcan think he is?

his induction into the wba hall of fame or whatever is a fucking joke too.

NONE of us wanted to see Canelo Crawford, that was some stupid little boxing kink he thought of while feeding his endangered snow leopard or something

and now he has the nerve to engage in a back and forth with a legend of the sport? someone whos never earned a thing in his life with hard work actually mouthing off to a barrio kid and arguably the mexican GOAT

imagine the arrogance..
