this Bayer Leverkusen team has a reasonable claim to the best in the world, but didnt have the chance to put a stamp on that.
now Dortmund can win a tournament but cant reasonably boast about what the CL winner is supposed to represent after Leverkusen boatraced them for 9 months, and if Madrid wins then they are *probably* the best team in Europe, but do we really know that?

PSV wont be triggering their buy option on Sergino Dest, and hes headed back to Barca for his rehabilitation, as they cant carry his wages on his current deal unless he's playing. this fuckin sucks, altho there is talk that they are already negotiating a new contract for a straight sale in the November transfer period. i hope this works out bc its the single best thing for all relevant parties, including the USMNT. wouldve been a done deal without the ACL tear. dammit.
On the other hand, Malik Tillman is officially a PSV owned player! emerging star who will be an impact USMNT player sooner than later, and eventually the €12.5M investment should return 2-3x that when he does move on. well it was the first time Barca beat Lyon! Chelsea beat Barca away in the semi first leg, but that return leg was messy. Admittedly I was rooting for the French dynasty but Barca deserved that one. Lyon usually only loses to PSG if that in France. It sucks that Ada Hegerberg has never really come back properly from her ACL injury.
This is the first time Barca did the quadruple so they can lose a game to certain teams sometimes. The Barca/Spain connection and what they've done lately is undeniable. In a weird way, it does seem to make the teams in their leagues better even if they can't beat them. The English WSL loves to promote itself as the most competitive league (like the Prem) but their big teams regularly run into trouble against the teams no one 'knows' about.
