"2023 NFL Regular Season Week 6: Minshew Like Crazy"

This guy, man...he just won't leave our hearts or minds. I asked the Colts not to do this. Asked them nicely, too. I asked them NOT to ruin Anthony Richardson. I'm not saying they have, but I'm not saying they haven't started. So, it's Minshew Mania for 8 weeks while Richardson mends a shoulder injury. Sunday, he travels to JAX to face the team that drafted him in the 6th round. Leggooo!!!

TNF
Broncos @ Chiefs (Let's Ride? More like, Last Ride (amirite?)...I can't lie, I have smoldering Russ take somewhere in this whole Broncos debacle, but I am deriving great enjoyment out of this happening to Sean Peyton's Lee Harvey Oswald-looking ass (google a side-by-side of them...you just did it, didn't you?))

Sunday

London Early
Ravens @ Titans (someone made a mashup of Ravens' receivers dropping passes in the Steelers game. If you were not a Ravens fan, it was hilarious)

Early
Panthers @ Dolphins

CommandSkins @ Falcons

Saints @ Texans

Colts @ Jags

Hawks @ Bengals (J'Marr chase really is always fucking open)

Vikings @ Bears (Both teams got a Justin, but only one is playing...this could be the loss that triggers a Minnesota fire sale)

Niners @ Browns (sigh)

Pats @ Raiders (as much as I like to see McDaniels' face when they lose....Bill's face when THEY lose is just a little bit better)

Lions @ Bucs (ROOOOOOAAAARRR!!! (c)Jalen Rose

Cards @ Rams

Eagles @ Jets (LOL)

Giants @ Bills (see Eagles @ Jets and double it)

Cowboys @ Chargers (I have now reached the "zero expectations" portion of the season)

...I'm from the era when A.I. was the answer, now they think ai is the answer - Marlon Craft

Its crazy. The Chief WRs have been casually terrible all year but it hasn't managed to cost them in as dramatic fashion as what went down with the Ravens last week.

Is tonight that night? Even if so, is Denver game enough to make them pay? I don't believe it..especially now with word floating around that Denver is trying to trade people. But hey, they play the games and prove us wrong af ALL THE TIME so we shall see!

Yeah. Its all broken. The defense showed some pride. And KC is still catching hell finding a WR to trust. But if your offense basically can't keep a drive going let alone finish one, what are you gonna do?

It seems like Denver's offense is shenanigans/smoke and mirrors stuff and once the opponent takes that stuff away out and forces them to 'run and execute real plays', its a wrap. No counterpunch. No plan B. Whatever cliche fits.

It feels like when you play someone on Madden who is depending on a specific type of cheezy bullshit and once you figure it out and shut it down, they're mostly toast. Except these folks are making hella money to adjust and figure it all out.

Instead, we're looking at a bad brand of ball and people are calling for a blow up. It sucks.

I am seriously sad about this. When kids like him get to play early and people have that convo about whether he's GREAT or way too raw, I love to see the kid get to GO OUT AND PLAY! But hell, dude is out here getting his ass knocked off every week. That in of itself might speak to some kind of 'rawness' fo sho, but I hope they let him take his time to get right. And the homie Men-shoe is gonna do his thing I'm guessing. AKA he'll be aight, people will get too excited, then he's be not good and that'll be that.

And he came off the couch talking big shit and what do you know..it ain't working so far, rumors of player fire sales are going wild, and Russ is getting further thrown under the table while continuing his politician steez, but only on-camera, only on camra, only on on camra. But I ain't listening to his lies. I swear its all lies. He needs to play better and finish more drives (with TDs).

Look man, the Cowboys are still pretty fun when they find a way to hide in the middle. Whenever people start building them up so much, you know the fall is coming. If its not a random jackass loss to a 'bad' team, its them getting thrown down a flight of stairs by some GOOD team (ala last week). And then the 'coverage' is ridiculous.

What you have just described to a T is my life as a Cowboy fan for the last...forever, lol. The "thrown down a flight of stairs" analogy is particularly triggering, too...cuz it's never that they lose to the team that they thought they could beat, but they get beat the fuck up or lose in a bizarre fashion.

Right. He is himself. He holds grudges. He acts a fool. If you come at him sideways and he has a platform to 'clap back' at you, yo azz is fo sho finna get clapped. And just think: he's probably trying to restrain himself in general. But Jeudy responding to him like that in person guaranteed this was coming.

I'm usually not entertained but I laughed at this one. It was so obviously sour and personal tho.

Zooming out a bit, if a retired WR tries to holler at a young WR to spit some game to him, that young WR probably needs to at least pretend to hear dude out even if a guy said something bad about you on TV. Cuz dudes filling the air on TV with whatever don't mean shit when/if you take your ass out during the game and handle your biz.

It lets you know that these jackass coaches are dying to do the same play as Philly but THEY CAN'T. And, as a result, some of them are like 'this ain't fair! We want easy TDs or first downs too!'.

Loser meathead fans crying foul about it makes sense. Allegedly grown azz coaches doing the same ain't my jam.

..as crazy as it sounds, Russ had better stats than Mahomes to start this game in every category except the one that counts the most (wins).

We already know Denver sucks lol. What's surprising is KC struggling against the worst team in the league.

the Broncos playcalling/game plan is doing NOTHING to help him, and it seems like just about everyone else on the team is sleep walking through the game.

they are already on the short side of the field.

they run some sort of motion, like a QB rollout type play, TO THE SHORT SIDE (sorry i'm not a playcalling guru - there's probably a name for this play)...so you're already fucking yourself by squeezing your action against the sideline even more.

THEN, they had like, TWO (pretty sure it was two) WRs line up to the short side on the route when KC had like 5 DBs on the field.

needless to say, no one was open and the play was an embarassment of nothingness.

that was just one that really stood out to me. like, what are we doing here.

this was the first time i watched Denver in a minute. yes Russ has some warts, but this ain't even close to all on him.

Broncos are just a bad team, across the board.

Right. It seems clear that they're not trying to call plays in a way to Febreze him.

That written, dude seems to have the yips about throwing across the middle and that critique has been a thing for years. And defenses seem to be onto that.

In HIS defense, who is he supposed to be throwing to on some of these plays? A lot of these cats are openly not open. And there's been some hate on the route-running too. So a scurred dude who doesn't trust his line or WRs is kinda up a creek. And now, he's trying to run more but that ain't his bag no more + Denver isn't doing as good a job at 'setting it up' as Seattle did.

It is a helluva mess all the way around. I want it to end somehow but I have no idea how they get out of that deal without him retiring or 15 chicks showing up out of nowhere with crazy Russ stories. And how do you even try to negotiate a buy out?

Dude called Jeudy a (JAG Just A Guy) on a podcast. He then apologized to Juedy and said he hoped he proved he was more than that tonight.

Jeudy hit him with a “nigga I dont fuck with you” when Smith tried to apologize before the game. Why this dude go ON AIR and tell the whole world exactly what Jeudy said…

Smith: He responded and said “ninja (but it wasn’t ninja it was the other word) I dont effe (but he cursed) with you”

You can’t talk tough about players and then snitch when they clap back at you.

Now, he isn’t wrong about Jeudy but all dude said was “iont fuck with you” and now Steve Smith telling teams not to trade for him. That dude wild

Its like expecting Drake to select partners well, maintain those relationships long-term, and not put it all in his music in a Marvin Gaye but less jamming type of way (some other time).

AKA ITS STEVE SMITH! How does any WR (active or retired) think he's gonna come sideways at SSS when he's got a pod and a TV gig and not expect to get put on blast!? Especially if Steve is truthful with his story that he was rolling up to try to make peace with the kid in-person/directly.

And trust me, I know cats like SSS IRL and I'm over that personality type fo sho. But I know what it is! And I'm not gonna act a fool with a dude like that in that situation! No no no!

And shiiiid, if your team is losing, you're a 1st round pick wr and QBs around you are getting benched, coaches are getting canned, other WRs are getting drafted to your team to replace you AND you're not even slapping together some stats? Maybe tuck yo chain for a bit. Just maybe.

In response to Reply # 55

It's corny as fuck for someone 40 (even 30)+ to be like that but it's also something that probably got him into the HOF. 4 decades from now, he's gonna be getting in fistfights at bridge games.

That said... pretty cathartic. Not feeling terribly sympathetic for Jeudy these days.

repeating that he was called the N word by Jeudy.

Jeudy is supposed to defend his QB, Smith is supposed to call it like he sees it..

but that back and forth should not be made public for the world to see using exact quotes. That was some hoe shit by Steve.

If you talk shit about a players game, stand on it, don’t try to apologize or smooth shit over before a game. Steve acting like he is still in uniform.

that's Randy Gregory and Frank Clark jettisoned in as many weeks. Bart Scott said something this morning I hadn't thought of. For all the shit Peyton talked about Natehack...at least the defense was really good. This motherfucker came in and now the defense even sucks.

Trade everyone. Including PS2 (would suck real bad, but he is too fucking good to be mired in all of this bullshit)

Play out the string with Russ this year and cut him. It will cost an insane amount of money... but not as much as keeping him. There is no value whatsoever in continuing to see if this will wind up working out. It. is. not. going. to. happen.

Lastly, with emphasis, Payton can get theeee entire fuck out. I thought he'd really turn it around. How utterly wrong I was.

In response to Reply # 60

He said if the Broncos get a top QB, the cap benefits of having the QB on a rookie contract could absorb the hit of Russ' dead money. He was saying it's not the ideal way to use that savings as far as team construction. But it would be better than letting Russ stay or cutting him and having a veteran QB along with reduced cap space for other positions.

Obviously Purdy had the game everyone who hates him was waiting on. Deebo and CMC injuries present huge problems but hopefully CMC is not serious and just pulled for precaution. Kyle throwing the ball 3 time when they got the ball with 3 mins was dumb. Aiyuk has too many drops and Kittle needs to be involved when those guys go down.

AND FINALLY

FUCK THE REFS...... CLEARLY A BAD CALL ON THE DEFENSELESS AND THE HOLDING ON AMARI WAS BAD AS WELL

That is the kind of kick we miss Robbie Gould. Moody got a leg but the experience of a veteran kicker can never be overstated.

PJ should have been the choice against Baltimore IMO.

Browns might be sitting at 4-1 now (and honestly would have a crack at 5-0 if they could figure out the Steeler voodoo)

the first of the two penalties was questionable. The second one (DB on Cooper) was the other.

I knew that would be low scoring because of their defenses and the QB differential between Niners and Browns. But a game won on a miracle is the kind of thing that you need against the 9ers.

Trent Williams was definitely challenged by that D-Line.
And somehow it took almost the entire game to hear the name "Nick Bosa" which was surprising, because out of the two teams, the Browns have the most ASS to expose on O-Line (they are playing 2 backups)

21 points marks our highest score this season. This man can't call plays for shit

How did Hoyer look better than Jimmy G?

Hardly any plays to Tae and the INT one was downright dangerous for him

Jimmy can't throw past 10 yards, and say what you want about Carr but he wasn't/isn't fragile

They've completely ignored Renfrow

Thank god for Maxx but this is not a good team. Its just that The Patriots are slightly worse

1 on 1 with Waller isn’t a bad play. It was a penalty and they missed it.

for the NFL’s bad offenses.

While I do think offenses are bad this year its due to QB injuries and all these new young QB’s.

Could also be due to the defenses playing good ball. While folks loved that KC/Bills playoff game from a few years back I always thought it was an awful brand of techmo bowl football with no defenses.

I’m loving these low scoring games.

Appreciating defenses takes a deeper understanding of x and o's and some help from the network to show things that you may not see live (ie. receivers getting blanketed on routes)

Bad offenses are just something different lol

That dude is STILL cooning for a scooby snack? Shame. I've manage to curate my online universe in a way where I basically don't ever see him. To me, he's speaking straight from and to the insecure crotches of bitch ass, loser azz average dudes everywhere who basically hate pro athletes and themselves. AKA I'm out on him and his loser farming kind in general!

As for 'bad' offenses, I'm with you..isn't it defenses adjusting? IE: remember the crying and moaning about running QBs? And what was the league gunna dewwww!? Defensive coaches said 'we're going to hit the QB on read options and dare refs to flag us..that'll fix that shit. Fuck RG III!'. And, for the most part, it worked, right?

And haven't people been complaining about bad offensive line play for at least half a decade? That's gotta matter at some point too right?

And also, Cover 2 is byke! And some QBs had been playing a lot of their lives without it and now have to adjust to not being able to have as many college easy throws on isolated shaky defenders. Now, it seems like even a shaky defense is setup to try to bend/not break. And if your oline ain't right and you can't CONSISTENTLY and RELIABLY run the ball or protect your QBs, its gonna be hard to finish drives/score TDs. And if your QB can't for real make the throws into tight coverage or the turkey hole, you're also toast..especially in the red zone. I'm looking right at Denver. And the NY Giants. And several other teams that can't seem to finish 2 drives in the same game to save their lives.

Over here, I see a lot of the crying about offenses as a byproduct of the oversaturation of fantasy football / gambling in the sports universe. Aka average bros who barely even watch football and probably were never even decent at Tecmo Bowl, Gameday, NFL 2k and/or Madden BE having 2 or more fantasy games going each week. And they swear that ESPN rankings they found in early August is supposed to be the gospel for how the season will go.

And really, all they want is their stats/points. And when ESPN and nem get it wrong and/or they don't get their little points and they lose to their coworker or brother in-law, they want blood. So JW and others are bringing the ooga booga for that crowd to feel comforted when some WR only has 3 catches, some allegedly 'amazing' QB only has 12 fantasy points, or if some RB who was supposed to suck has like 10 TDs before Halloween (Mostert), CMC is hurt AGAIN, and/or some team that was supposed to be an easy matchup is now not that (Texans).

49ers, Bills (mostly), Dolphins, etc kept theirs and they look largely the same.

and then you have Matt Canada, who eats poopoo

what pisses me off is teams not remembering how you win low-scoring games

and Texans are ranked 9th.

All I’m saying is when offenses have faced good D’s this year usually good defense is winning that matchup.

now Miami is beasting on offense but look at their opponents so far.. combined 8-31 record. Cant wait to see that matchup vs the Jets.
