i imagine in the end UNC and UVA end up in the Big 10 Clemson, FSU and maybe Miami end up in the SEC
and the rest are left to fend for themselves
culturally i'd MUCH rather UNC go to the SEC than the Big 10. that would kill my remaining interest in UNC sports. but we would never do it because we act like we are above SEC shenanigans

I would like to say it has been a good run and a lot of fun. My time as a CFB fan has ended. I am not sure what comes next for NFL Bud Lite but it won’t be including me.

More so than the NFL and I think even CBB, CFB is built upon rivalries. If you create these mega conferences, all the allure and mystique of CFB gets eliminated because you're playing teams where there's no baked-in emotion.
I'm a Mizzou fan. I still don't think realignment was a good idea, even though it's nearly been 10 years because we just don't belong culturally with the SEC schools. And I think some fans of the former Pac-12 schools are gonna feel the same.
The priorities of the conference presidents have been getting more schools to the CFP and expanding their profiles to TV networks, but I can't say the "spirit of the game" has improved by all this expansion.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but has realignment benefitted any of the newly transplanted schools on the field? I mean, it's not like A&M came to the SEC and started killing shit. And for all of the raised profile of the SEC and B1G 10 with the added footprints of the new TV markets, no major rivalry that spans regions has developed outside of Clemson and Alabama, and they don't play each other outside of appearances in the CFP. So, who does realignment really benefit?

that said, it sucks ass.
like, pretty much all of our matchups now will be meaningless as far as having any history to them.
the only Big 10 school we have any real history is Michigan.
fortunately, our biggest rival is going too, so there's that, but people here are trying to figure out if the Apple Cup is dead too, since WSU is staying (or going to another conference?) and would the UW brass wanna use a non-conference game to play, especially as there's basically no incentive for UW to play it outside of tradition/nostalgia.
i hope this is the final nail in the coffin of people having any illusions about NCAA Football. it's just another professional league now and should be looked at the minors to the NFL at best.
