Cyren will sure enough bring the actual game post when it happens, but it’s time to get the predictions and observations rolling now.
I’m looking forward to this matchup, because it is a clear cliche of David v. Goliath. Denver is long from guard to center. They have length and height all day long, so the Heat will be the smaller team.
Murray: 6’4, Vincent: 6’3 KCP : 6’5 , Struss: 6’5 Martin: 6’5, Porter: 6’10 Butler: 6’7, Gordon: 6’8 Bam: 6’9, Jokic: 7’0
Denver clearly has a height advantage. The Porter/ Martin matchup will be very interesting. Will Martin be able to be offensive against the length of Porter, who has improved his defense?
Gordon will definitely be assigned to Jimmy. How will Jimmy fair against a physical, excellent defender in Gordon?
KCP and Struss are similarly players, height and ability, but I find KCP to be the more consistent and impactful player.
Vincent v Murray is a forgone conclusion
And last but not least, Bam having to deal with the offensive nuclear ability of Jokic, who can kill you inside and out, plus facilitate like a premier PG. Bam is the more athletic player, and will be able to attack Jokic on the offensive end…But will he have the energy to do so, since he has to guard Jokic?
Also, you have to look at the one big intangible: Denver’s high altitude atmosphere. How much of an effect will that have on the energy and conditioning of the Heat?
Denver has a lot of advantages, so I’ll go Denver here. But I’m sure the Heat will give it everything they got, and compete like honey badgers on every level. I wouldn’t be surprised if it goes 7 games.
Who you got?
