so 3 weeks is now the *minimum*.

with his age and injury history and already coming off an extended layoff...i dont think its out of the realm of possibility that hes held out for the regular season (essentially 4 weeks).

they have no bench and they are missing their three (?) best defenders.

they aren't gonna do much until, and if, they get healthy.

and even then...they still have no bench.

i think if you're invested in any kind of success at this point for this iteration of the Warriors then you're already doing too much.

they been ass on the road all year regardless of health/lineup.

they were ass on the road even with a fully healthy lineup.

youre acting like this game was some aberration because of who was/wasnt playing.

grizz were missing a bunch of key people too. a lot of teams have been throughout the year.

i (like all warriors fans right now) am just asking to stop the dumb lazy shit on the road. playing no d, dribbling off their own feet, passing the ball to the other team, giving up on plays, blowing layups, standing around on offense, chucking 3s with nothing in the interior, not rebounding, fouling like crazy, etc.

if this team is so terrible with no bench (as you claim) then why do they have the 4th best home record in the league and the *best* *defensive* rating at home? obviously theres capable personnel.
https://twitter.com/JoeVirayNBA/status/1633352290236252161

dubs just ran off *5* straight wins at home with no curry or wiggins. theyve won games with any combination of curry, wiggins, dray, klay (no back to back), kuminga (dnp) out. theyve won games where 2 two-way players have had to play 30+ minutes because the rotation was so thin.

clearly there is an issue with their effort/execution specifically on the road (like literally *everyone* points out).

lol @ me 'doing too much' by expecting them to play like a professional basketball team home *and* away.

this team is a roller coast, and has been all season.

why? they have had ZERO consistency. someone is always hurt, out, lineups getting shuffled cuz they can't get bench production, etc.

in sports, if you don't have consistency? this is what you get.

That didnā€™t appear to be a slip from the video I saw. I donā€™t know what those outer soles
are made of , or the cushioning, but they clearly rolled when he tried to push off.

I ran track and field and road racing, and there would be shoes such as Saucony,
where the outer sole was too supple and would give, causing the foot to roll on landing
or pushing off.

He causally went straight to the basket without a lot of force, and as his foot pushed
off it rolled. Even with low tops on that shouldnā€™t have happened with such little force
that was applied.

Since a lot of shoes are made with a lighter and softer construction, some serious
ankle support is needed. Go with 3/4s or get some ankle support wraps or braces

it was a firm plant on the balls of his feet and an ankle roll.

if the court was wet then he wouldnt have been able to plant. his leg woulda slipped out from under him (and saved his ankle).

i mean, you've got steph and draymond getting frustratred with him on the floor, you got steph and gp2 making fun of him on the bench (which, could be just some silly shit not to be taken seriously, i will grant)....obviously draymond punched him.

last year, he was like The Microwave, and his failings were masked by Mike Brown and their defensive scheme and defensive players.

they lost that this year, and even the guys they have who are good on defense who are still there have been in and out of the lineup (as has damn near every player on the team).

i dunno. i can't 100 percent call it but it's look like it's not the best long term fit.

and just on his own personal level, his play has been all over the board this season.

I suppose 25-28/year is a decent tradable asset but not so with 3-4 years left on the deal. The cap will go up and that will feel like even less but for the next 2 years itā€™s not a great asset if he plays like he did this year.

So is he better than AD?

Because he put up 31 on 14 shots.

AD only took 7 shots.

AD has shown for stretches he can be a top 5 player in the league.

So I donā€™t care who is guarding him.

Also, AD did the damn thing on the defensive end. Those 4 blocks were immense, and their
best player was neutralized.

hi

no he doesn't show up every night, but it seems like you think that's more a function of his "inner drive/motivation"..and i'm just saying it's pretty much just the matchup in the end. they have like 15 games left and they're trying to make the playoffs.. it's go time. he knows that, pretty sure he isnt thinking "do i really feel like putting the effort tonight..? hmm.."

wanna know the nights AD will "show up"? (we'll say 25/10?)

(scratch that)
Mavs 3/17
Magic 3/19

shit, probably easier for me to list the nights he won't get that with their schedule.. both Houston games (semi-frustrated), both Chicago (semi), both Jazz games and the Clippers game you should prepare to be frustrated. "bbq chicken" the other nights though. and if i'm totally off here then i'll concede you were right.

How is it not a function of his inner-drive?

Youā€™ve seen this trend for years.

Some people arenā€™t wired like that.

Why do you think MJ and Kobe are so loved? They didnā€™t know how to turn that switch off. They had bad games but they never were going at 50%.

You canā€™t say the same for AD.

It is what it is.

Sometimes he isnā€™t into the game and thatā€™s fine because we sometimes forget life isnā€™t just basketball for these guys.

But it doesnā€™t change the fact he is up and down.

And itā€™s not a matter of defense because when he wants, he can play with anyone.

After a 30/20 game he deserved to take some of the load off if the other guys were cooking. Itā€™s good to see.

But sure - he has had slow games when not fully healthy. Heā€™s had a lot of injuries so heā€™s constantly not quite there. Canā€™t knock him for it. He seems to get going when he needs to.

Now weā€™ve gotta hope Jeanie doesnā€™t cheap out on DLo, Rui, Reaves because those guys are crucial. I canā€™t wait to see what a fully healthy team looks like.

Finally. Some excitement again.

this first taste of being around people who have completely fucked their lives up with substances, listening to their stories, is a start. but at that age, with all that $$$, it can be hard to hear anything but yourself saying "yea yea but that ain't me, i got this, next time i'll do better, be slicker with it."

you'd think with all that money on the line and the chance to be an all-time great...he could grow some sense and stop fucking up. but if he's a bit busted inside and the buzz of the drug/booze makes that pain stop...it ain't always so easy.

i'm not saying he's got those problem problems. but maybe. whatever it is that's got him, i hope he can get free of it. prayers up for the man.

Dude was about to get into a fight with Shannon. Ja learned basketball and the streets
from his father. That is probably a good/evil type of influence.

Even with good parenting, sometimes that isnā€™t enough, and a person must
acquire help from a specialist in order to stabilize or correct oneā€™s self.

Keep in mind he is only 23 years old. He is still a young, young adult who hasnā€™t
fully matured, and no telling how impressionable his mind is when in the presence
of his friends.

He is a product of his environment, same way it was with AI.

Also Ja is 6ā€™2 ā€¦a little dude on the court, but a tall dude in the streets ā€¦plus add money
and power to that could make for one obnoxious ass dude in need of a reality check.

Even Jordan received a reality check when he was young and dumbā€¦gambling with
notorious GD folks, pimps and hustlers, plus the Atlantic City situationā€¦.Everyone knows
he was punished behind closed doors.

in years.

the Cavs will make the playoffs for certain. highly likely to retain #4 seed. Not catching Philly.

May surprise in first round. But I'm really looking forward to the offseason where my hopes are:

1. Windler waived

2. any non-Okoro reserve that can get better shooting talent added to this team. Frankly, I'd keep Levert, Rubio, and Neto (at same price). Lamar Stevens, who's the 11th man, so who cares if he stays. he at least delivers something.

3. A backup big. If that means bringing up Diop on the cheap, do it.

Again, Cavs get near the end of the season and the team is banged up. This time Jarrett Allen getting the Booty Fingers treatment from Bam Adebayo in that last Heat contest (some dogshit that ended with a lot of Butler foul grifts and the aforementioned eye poke).

a lot of JB complaints. yes, his ATO inbounds are ASS.

yes, these lineups are head-scratching. But at least I understand that. Dean Wade and Cedi Osman have earned the dog house. Danny Green is not ready for primetime. So the Cavs are paying for his rehab lol.
This is a Koby Altman issue at this point.

That being said, at 43 wins with 12 games to go in regular season, with the early season infuriating losses, with the absolute grind-it-out wins that had no business being so...

...Cavs are in a good place besides the salary cap. The Core 4 needs to continue to grow into their talent. Not sure if the Bickerstaff Experience will lead them there, but I'd feel better about them with more fuckin shooting at their disposal. Their defense DRAGS them to wins. Evan Mobley is by far the best rookie in that class. The amount of wins he's influenced ALONE.

a team with this profile, never mind Donovan Mitchell (the other huge factor) should be on paper, where the Hawks and Heat are right now. But they're just better than that. They also have a better regular season record than a lot of the teams in the West, including perennial favorites. In a tougher East.

You gotta deal with Boston, the Bucks (Giannis), and Philly over here. I shit on Philly sometimes because of the foul grifting, but 4th quarter facilitator Harden is a motherfucker. Never mind Embiid. And Maxey is good enough to make 3. Rotation works. Doc Rivers notwithstanding.

Yes, I'm mad. Let's move on.

4 straight loses to poverty franchises.

meanwhile embiid/sixers have won 5 straight and have a better record. and giannis/bucks have the best record in the entire league...even with all the injuries.

its kinda funny. i dont believe jokic is a stat padder like kendrick perkins said. but if jokic is putting up these empty calorie box scores and still losing down the stretch of the season...it makes perk look a little more credible.

i noticed several high profile members of the media kinda peeking at the off ramp. i think a lot of them dont wanna get stuck holding the bag if they give him a 3rd straight mvp and he still cant come out the west. even tim bontemps (who puts out the media polls that say jokic is an overwhelming favorite) said the race could be decided in 2 weeks when the sixers face the nuggets.

body language is bad. Supporting cast and D been real rocky. Jamal kinda fucked up yesterday. No way he should be taking 18 shots shooting 28% and Jokic takes 13 while shooting 75% and every other starter shooting above 50%, but Murray keeps chucking. Giving up 40%, 38%, 39%, 37% 3pt percentage the 4 Ls as well.

In response to Reply # 0

Apparently that's been the plan since he returned, to hold him out of back to back games.

It's the Rockets, but shit happens. These are still NBA players.

We can't be fucking around if we want to actually make the playoffs. Even if he only plays 20 minutes, he should be out there.

https://sports.yahoo.com/anthony-davis-won-t-play-031904266.html

After two subpar offensive outings, Anthony Davis got back to his usual dominant self when the Los Angeles Lakers visited the New Orleans Pelicans on Thursday.

He scored 35 points, 14 of them coming in the first quarter, while shooting 11-of-18 from the field and 12-of-13 from the free throw line, to go along with 17 rebounds in L.A.ā€™s 123-108 win.

Davis has had a number of big games against his former team, and this was yet another one.

However, the Lakers are still being cautious with him following his right foot stress injury in December, and as a result, head coach Darvin Ham said he will not suit up when they travel west on Wednesday to face the Houston Rockets.

The Rockets may have the worst record in the Western Conference at 16-52, but theyā€™re coming off a surprising 111-109 win over the Boston Celtics on Monday. Los Angeles will need to come out strong without Davis and not assume that this will be an automatic victory.

Sitting him against OKC instead of Memphis was a dumb move. This is fine.

This team is allergic to .500, but I think they actually might get it this time. The Rockets are in full on tank mode. If DLo hits some shots, it should be fine.

They shouldn't be gambling with this season at this point.

I get that it's the Rockets.

But nah. We're in position to actually fight for a 6 seed and not just a play in berth. 6 seed was the goal. Still should be.

Sure, it's a likely win. But shit happens.

Not that I trust AD to stay healthy. I'm still waiting for a return to When Healthy. But they should be minimizing his minutes on nights like this, not sitting him out entirely.

I hear you.

And for as much as I gave up on the prior roster, I think they actually have something worth going all in on right now.

We *could* be the proverbial Team Nobody Wants To Face this year, assuming Brawn can get back for the playoffs.

I think we actually have a situation worth pushing all the chips in now. So sitting him out here is a bit of a risk.

What I'll say is, if we win, it's a smart move.

But if we lose? Terrible gamble.

I'd just rather them err on the side of caution. You can play him limited minutes and give us a better chance of winning.

The west has too much parity, and nobody is running away with things. It's a relatively weak field from that standpoint. If there's a year the team in the Lakers position could pull a 99 Knicks... this is the year.

There's an opportunity here and we need to be all hands on deck for it IMO.

the lakers are barely holding on to a 10th seed and a play-in spot as is.

any single loss down the stretch at this point could be the one that eliminates them from any postseason opportunity.

theyre currently getting blown out by the worst team in the western conference who is killing them in the interior.

what happens if a.d. (God forbid) has to actually miss a game or two due to a real injury?

how do you get the entire team to buy into the urgency of this postseason push if youre still sitting your healthy star?

Iā€™m not going to pretend Iā€™m a doctor. Maybe his doctor was adamant about it, I donā€™t know.

But on the surface, this was a risky gamble that shouldnā€™t have been taken. Would have looked smart of theyā€™d have won, but they needed to err on the side of caution on this one and played his ass at least 15-20 minutes.

Shit they could have jumped out to a lead early and sat him.

So even if that doesn't count the games he's already sitting out for, he'll still come back in time for the playoffs.

Have to hope for his sake and the league's sake nothing else comes out while the dude is dunking on people's heads in the first round. That would be disastrous.

Image wise, having MJ own a team is great for the league. The best player and most culturally significant player over the last 50 years having a prominent place in the league after his playing career reflects highly on the NBA.

But he was mediocre to bad as an owner and if I were a fan, I'd be happy that someone fresh will take over. These guys were minority owners so maybe they won't be too much better, but change can't be harmful in this case.

Plus, financially, he's gonna come up quite well.

credit for it.

AD was a 6ā€™3 guard as a junior in HS. He wasnā€™t a big man. He shot up overnight,
and became a big man. Thatā€™s not natural, and he is a guard trapped in a big manā€™s
body, which is why he picks up injuries.

When he played along side cousins he played the 4, and he didnā€™t have to bang as much,
and they flourished as twin towersā€¦.

He has guard mechanics, is highly athletic, but he is doing it in a body that he shouldnā€™t
be inā€¦.and that is why he is constantly picking up injuries.

atlanta gave the warriors plenty of opportunities to pull this game out. even with how bad everyone but steph, loon and donte were playing. but the clutch time possessions for the dubs were absolutely horrid.

yeah these niggas aint winning another road game the rest of the season.

..1st, the 3 FTs

Then the clutch 3 at the buzzer for the win.

Can't front on that.

Lakers had every chance to win this game and gave it away (lack of poise).

No room for error.

Kinda kills their chances to get out of the play in, too. And everything else is going their way. Itā€™s a reminder this team with out Bron is a play in team. We donā€™t really know much more than that but theyā€™re a mid ass team and itā€™s kinda dumb to expect theyā€™ll go on a serious run soā€¦hoping for the play in.

DLo is great but in the offseason if we can flip him for Kyrie we should definitely consider it

Beasley, Bamba, and Reed are all team non-guaranteed deals

Even if we signed D Lo to his cap hold of 38.7 mil (highly unlikely), weā€™d still be well under the luxury tax threshold, let alone the hard cap

Moreover, as long as we donā€™t use the bi-annual or taxpayer MLE, we avoid a hard cap as long as we donā€™t do a S&T.

So we could resign D Lo and at least a few of our free agents, probably keeping Beasley and Reaves in the process, trade deals like Bambaā€™s non-guaranteed expiring, and still not be hard capped.

Kyrie will require a require a S&T and guarantee a hard cap.

Itā€™s really easy to find out what triggers a hard cap.

Resigning DLo isnā€™t one of those triggers unless we use the taxpayer or biannual exception to do it.

Itā€™s not a fucking opinion. Itā€™s a fact.

More facts: the cap will be 134 million.
The luxury tax is projected around 162.

Lebron and AD together make 87.5. The remaining guaranteed contracts are only 6.4 million, and everyone else is a free agent.

Thatā€™s 93.9

Even if we sign DLo to his cap hold of 38.7- again, not likely- that puts us just a hair over the soft cap, but still well below the luxury tax. That doesnā€™t trigger a hard cap.

Thatā€™s not an opinion.

Iā€™ve already explained to you what triggers the hard cap.

This shit is easy to look up.

I know youā€™ll just do your usual dumb ā€œokay, playerā€ bullshit, and thatā€™s fine. Actual facts disagree with you.

When he gets extended minutes, he produces. He played 5 minutes last night. All the Magic bigs want to play outside in, but only Balanchero and Franz Wagner can really take a defender to the cup. Bol has that, and he plays unselfishly and doesn't force his shots. But then the question is who does he defend? He is great as a weakside shot blocker but he is still prone to getting pushed around defending a 5.

Its really about him being in the right situation.

including caesars, draftkings, pointsbet, betonline, betmgm, etc.

sixers are on an 8 game winning streak and only 2.5 games off the league lead.

nuggets and sixers play in exactly 1 week in their last matchup of the season. too bad that game wont be on national tv but it could still loom large.

embiid has his best opportunity in the past few seasons to put this thing away.

Obviously - he's deserving, and the team is winning.

But seems like it's shifted to Embiid vs Giannis for the MVP and Joker is now in 3rd. His team losing a bunch doesn't help, either.

Any of those dudes deserve it - but I'm rooting for Joel.

but i bet some media members took a look at themselves after kendrick perkins brought up the racial double standard when it came to that award and how the media always found arbitrary standards to deny greater black players mvp awards but those standards seemed to disappear for historically aberrant selections of white players.

george karl just said embiid isnt the mvp because he takes plays off and has 'lazy body language'.
https://twitter.com/SiriusXMNBA/status/1637509991769985025

has he ever watched jokic (not) play defense or physically fade at the end of games a lot of times when his team needs his effort the most?

who were greater than jokic and denied consecutive multiple mvps (whether it was 2 or 3) due to arbitrarily exclusive criteria from the media.

like jordan, lebron, etc.

i mean...shit...just a few years ago in the first jokic mvp year...they said giannis shouldnt win a 3rd straight mvp because of how he couldnt get it done in the playoffs (especially the year before)...

...in a year where giannis had better stats than jokic, the bucks had a better record than the nuggets...and the bucks eventually went on to win the championship lol.

that typa shit.

Joel & the Sixers finishing super strong. Dude is like 36/9/5 and only lost once in March. He also murdered Jokic when he had the chance heads up.

Jokic is having a hell of a season, and is a worthy candidate, but Joel putting his mark on the season.

but all everyone talks about is how theyre not a serious contender in the west. so apparently road record only matters in certain cases?

but the kings road record is on par with the top 3 teams in the east who everyone *does* consider serious championship contenders.

the nuggets and clippers are both essentially .500 teams on the road.

and the rest of the west is firmly below .500.

the grizz right today would have a chance to have home court advantage up to the wcf. and up to the finals if anybody knocks off denver in an earlier round. thats a lot more important than road record.

This clip only shows the last 12 seconds of the game, but Kawhi and the Clippers had the ball with about 20 seconds left in regulation, down two.

Because of great on-ball defense and horrible ball movement and spacing, Kawhi couldn't even manage to get a shot up before the clock ran out.

https://www.espn.com/video/clip/_/id/35915503

I've heard analysts talk down the Clippers' offense and didn't think much of it since they seem to be solidly out of the play-in and are integrating a number of players who are on the court a significant amount.

But if they play like this in the postseason, I can't see them making a run.

This team is anathema to "modern basketball" in a number of ways. 4th in the East (they'll keep it), on target for 50.

JB got some major flaws.

This roster got some major flaws (comparing DG/Donovan to Dame/CJ is lazy -- that ain't a problem. it's the lack of shooting, the offense that can sometimes be uninspired).

shown once again against the Nets, this team pisses away late game leads settling for contested jumpers instead of running some real offense.

it will be difficult to build on the margins with the DG deal kicking in, and a Caris LeVert extension looming (he has been BALLING this month), and the general market for the kind of players the Cavs need.

Look at the Hawks with all their wings. added Saddiq Bey (who I wanted for the Cavs) for a chicken sandwich so that the Warriors could get Wiseman out. Mid-ass record and they fired a coach.

Look at the Miami Heat. Microwaved ass living at the line, putting Spoelstra at wit's end.

Look at the West. Shout out to Denver, The Kangz, and the Grizzlies (fuck Dildo Brooks though). Everyone else just hanging on.

We can't quite bang with the top 3 in the East for a series but we'll give them a fight. This is year 1 of the true playoff run.

Let's get it.

Yes, I'm mad. Let's move on.

Obviously Kuminga is the big story of the night, but the Warriors also had five other players in double figures, and the bench balled to secure an important win.

Finished up 2-3 on the last big road stretch, which is about what I expected. They get the tie-breaker over the Mavs. Currently the sixth seed, but the fourth still is realistically in reach. And yes, I know not much separates 4th from 12th. A strong home-stand will go a long way.

and hes just gonna sit out games...the least he could do is give the team some type of potential timeline for his return or at least definitive answer on whether he intends to join the team again this season or not.

draymond talked about it on his podcast. mostly being mad at the people spreading the big rumor about it. but he said he has no idea why wiggs is actually out and doesnt even know if the rumor is true or false. that was really shocking to me. and you have kerr and myers talking that 'well...i havent heard anything from wiggs saying he *isnt* coming back' but they dont sound like they have *any* sense about whats happening.

i was under the impression that the team knew what it was and was just choosing to protect his privacy. but now it looks like everyone is completely clueless.

not too long ago his girl posted a video of him (chilling with gp2) at his daughters birthday party.
https://www.tiktok.com/@mycoool_/video/7209409524971605291

its just weird to see dude out here moving around perfectly healthy and not have to check in with the organization and at least let them know if they should move on without him this season instead of keeping everyone in limbo.

remember they were completely blindsided by him missing time at all for 'non-covid illness' a 2nd time that eventually turned into 'personal reasons' and they were fully convinced he would be back immediately following the all star break.

it wasnt even a big concern for them based on the convos they had with wiggs. they definitely didnt think he would miss 2 months or the entire season because of it.

either way...like you said...even if he does come back some time soon...hes gonna be really limited (if he can even play at all) because he needs to go through the ramp up process. might not even be a factor unless they make the finals.

that they thought he should play.

a lot of people dont remember this.

but he milked an ab injury longer than they thought he should be out. then when it was obviously past time to come back...he sat out an additional 2 weeks with a 'non-covid illness'.

when he did come back...he was playing like he didnt care. getting outrebounded by steph, donte and niggas like ty jerome.

then a lil later...he took off more time again for 'non-covid' illness. in that time he was spotted partying with kodak black. i mentioned all this back in january when most folks werent really paying attention.

..Wiggins clearly has personal issues that he's chosen to deal with privately. This isn't the 1st time a professional athlete has taken personal time away from the game (and it won't be the last).

He informed his team and has been respectfully granted leave. Your insistence that he do more to ease your concerns or give you a better time-table for his return is ripe with entitlement.

Now you're in here reporting about him attending a child's bday party as if he committed a crime?

This is beyond insensitive, you're being ridiculous. Please stop.

There is more to life than competition. Whatever he's dealing with, I wish him and his family well and hope that he takes whatever time he needs.

That said, you *still* weren't wrong.

The role and energy he's brought lately *is* similar to Manu.

Projecting that as his future would be another matter. But what he's done these last 4-5 weeks or so is very much in a Manu vein.

In response to Reply # 0

They said it was Mavs ball..

then changed it to Dubs ball..

after the timeout Mavs were on the other end to inbound the ball, ref was there with them.. but the other ref is at the other end of the court and gives the ball to the Dubs for an easy layup. Why would the ref not notify the other team?

and they showed the replay showing the ref pointing Mavs ball and they refused to show the rest of the replay with the ref. Announcer says ā€œhe pointed his thumb towards the Dubs if you missed itā€

these niggas.. lol

TBH the fact that you're even a mod here fits squarely within Jag's narrative of OK-sanctioned aggression, bullying, and toxicity. *shrug*

And even if they did the Mavs had to take the ball out underneath the Warriors basket so there's no reason for the ENTIRE team to be on the other end of the floor.

In response to Reply # 0

mark cuban said the refs called the ball for the mavs and the announcer called the ball for the mavs. then the refs changed the call.

that has been proven absolutely false by the replays they have been running on every major sports show. the ref immediately calls the ball for the warriors (we saw a mavs player blatantly strip the ball from looney before it went out of bounds). then the ref points in the mavs direction for the timeout. then the ref again points behind his head to indicate the ball is golden states. so he *reiterated* his initial possession call to make it clear.

what mark cuban meant to say was the announcer made the incorrect call and cuban went with that (we dont even know if the announcer actually did that...but that was his claim). the ref *never* indicated mavs ball. and the warriors clearly knew it was their ball because steve kerr drew up an ato play and they lined up under the right basket.

if the mavs really thought it was their ball then why didnt they have an inbounder under the basket where the ball went out of bounds? it wasnt the last 2 minutes in the 4th/ot so no advancing the ball.

the mavs just got confused and fucked up all around.

jason kidd carefully chose his words and never disputed the call or said any call was changed. he said the refs should have cleared up the 'confusion' and gotten the teams set up the right way.

but thats not the refs job. we have seen plenty of 'shaqtin a fool' type of plays at different levels of basketball where teams go the wrong way and a player scores on the wrong basket, inbounding teams run misdirection and intentionally face the wrong direction and make it look like they intend to score on one basket just to get the other team to defend in the wrong direction and then the team scores on the correct basket, etc.

its not on the refs to step in and go 'hey yall might wanna line up under the right basket before yall get scored on'.

and if there was any uncertainty then why didnt a mavs coach talk to the refs during the timeout and get clarification about who the ball went out of bounds off, which team was getting ball, etc?

if anything...like windhorst pointed out...the refs actually did the mavs a favor and gave luka some leeway. he did that 'yall got paid off' gesture to the refs *twice*...which could easily warrant a tech under any other circumstance. not only would that impact this game but luka is 1 tech away from a game suspension. the refs woulda been well within their right to fuck the mavs whole shit up.

Similar to football. Itā€™s not their job to tell players that they are offside or onside or how
many players a team has on the field, or where each player should be positioned.

Thatā€™s the responsibility of the team. Thatā€™s a player/personnel situation to make sure
that all players know which side of the court to be on.

i wonder if Cuban is really gonna pony up the 10K (i know, not a lot of money to a billionaire) to ACTUALLY protest the game, or just whine about it.

i mean, i could see how the ref pointing to the bench for the t.o. might have confused them but he clearly pointed twice to indicate golden state's ball AND if it was Dallas ball why would he hand the ball to a golden state player to inbound it and didn't it seem odd to you that the refs and the GS players were still on the other end of the court?

like, it's silly. just take the L.

Evan Mobley is that dude.
Donovan trade still working.
Caris LeVert is BALLING.

Everyone is still healthy. 47 wins, need 50 to lock up the 4th seed, one more to lock up the playoffs.

There is progress, and it's beyond adding Donovan. A lot of work to do. LeVert has locked up that extension.

Yes, I'm mad. Let's move on.
