Sadly, I think lots of people will still say 'yes'...anything to increase the chances of a fluke win here or there. Or maybe someone gets hurt and/or suspended and it opens the door for some cutesy team to have a greater chance at winning a title so that people can ride in on a magic Twittery carpet, hate on some team and/or conference, and act like it ain't what it kinda obviously is: some of these teams have like 50 physically good players while others have 10 and that's usually going to be a problem for the weaker team over the course of a 3-hour game.
I do love that there's at least a 4-team playoff so that a national champion has to win 2 games in front of everyone. I still shudder at the idea that dudes were allowed to decided a champion via votes. And you know good and damn well a bunch of those people with votes weren't even watching games regularly. The best thing to happen to Georgia was the OSU game….Kirby and his coaches got to work and mastered TCU’s offense and defense. TCU couldn’t do shit.
There was definitely a difference in talent, but also TCU wasn’t prepared… That win against Michigan made them think they were really really good, and to me they didn’t make any improvements or adjustments.

I knew it was trouble when he joined Kirby. He was a good OC with Tampa (at least as good as he could be dealing with Jameis)

these comments are kinda overwhelming and it's hard to tell if you're just being dramatic for some laughs or if you're serious. cause what you're describing are legit PTSD symptoms. and that would be something you should really talk with a professional about. not to steal from the fansville guy skipping rocks at the pond but at the end of the day this is just a game played by kids. it shouldn't be causing this level of damage.
I had the misfortune of wasting my time and a lot of money to be in the stands for the osu/mich game. I left the game as pissed as anyone else. but it was 2 months ago. osu just put in an amazing performance against the best program in the country, caught a lot of tough breaks and came up a yard or two short. nothing to be ashamed of after that game. losing should never be celebrated but it should at least leave you with a better feeling than you had after the debacle vs mich.
OSU spent the past 20 years kicking the shit out of mich. it wasn't going to last forever. because its kids playing a game and shit happens. and this lil 2 game winning streak that mich has right now wont last forever either.

I just spoke facts that those pairings would’ve been the highest rated games.
Uga/TCU in the final was the worst case scenario. It’s what it is.
I’ve never gotten down with the whole petulant cfb fan thing where every playoff/NC game needs to be hit or else. As I said, it’s sports not a movie script. The semis were the best ever so we were lucky in that regard.

and UGAs talent gap over Michigan is almost entirely based on players that dont actually play yet
as far as developed players go, the gap is not wide if it even exists. outside of Brock Bowers and maybe Broderick Jones, there isnt one player offensively for UGA that i would prefer in lieu of what Michigan has at that position.
defensively, i do envy their LB corps and their second group of DL is MUCH better than UMs, but it ends there.

harbaugh has gotten destroyed in bowl games while at mich and i cant even recall mich winning a reg season win against a non midwestern opponent in the past 20 years.
the results are the results. not gonna debate whether their talent level is on par with the elite programs of cfb or uga. they aren't. not gonna get anyone to agree with that other than the parents of mich players.

Monken put Kirby's teams over the edge with the way he calls the game. while I agree there are some randomly pedestrian skill players on Georgia's offense, they are coached extremely well -- only Ohio State, Tennessee and USC averaged more yards per play this year.
and Kirby can still scheme up a gameplan that makes it hard on you. can you imagine Georgia giving 260 rushing yards to TCU? you can't. because it would never happen.

felt like I'd have been taking away from TCU and making it about Michigan not playing well. But after that championship game - yeah, Michigan just out and out LOST that semifinal game with bad mistakes (two bad pick 6's thrown, a goal line fumble, etc.), terrible playcalling (running trick plays from the goal line, trying to run up the middle into gaps of the 3-3-5 without accounting for their LBs causing havoc, etc.
The terrible playcalling IMO started before the game even from a coaching strategy standpoint. We had an identity the entire year of being stubborn about running up the middle, even when it wasn't working. And we were successful with that strategy largely because of Corum and the fact that even when he was stopped at the line he'd get 3-5 yards after contact consistently. Donovan Edwards was never that type of back for us. He was like an all or nothing back who'd either get stopped short or gash defenses for big hits.
You could really see that in the last two games of the regular season - against Illinois and OSU. We STRUGGLED running against Illinois when Corum went out and that's why that game was so close. But was also really struggled against OSU, and just kept running inside into the stacked box. The big plays in that game gassed us up I believe - the big passing plays in the first half, and Donovan's big TD runs in the second half. If you take away those big runs we didn't do much at all on the ground.
Back to TCU - our coaches should have had more awareness about all of that, and came with a different strategy of using Edwards in space along with letting JJ get loose. It's like they looked at the 3 man front and figured our O line would just open up huge holes all day. Then once we got down early we really needed to adjust and we didn't.

Unfortunately for us it seems like our coaches were just as gassed up as the fan base, because they went into that TCU game acting like we could just bully them up the middle and dominate, instead of going with a different strategy based on not having Corum.
That being said, I was impressed with how we played in the second half and the fact that we were able to get back into that game and still have it come down to the last possession after we were shooting ourselves in the foot for the first half.
