And he broke a bunch of Goffs high school passing records. He was a 4 star recruit, which I find that interesting because it looks like Petras is a project QB that was a borderline 3 star.

UCLA has a solid OL and running game with DTR in his 8th year and Charbonnet in his 7th. Once that running game got going it was easy for DTR to suck in the LBs and hit his TE for big passing plays.
Penix took a while to get going and those two 1st half picks put them in a hole they couldn’t get out of.

i mean, we're DRASTICALLY improved and should be able to outscore most Pac 12 foes, but our running game can be improved with better talent, and our DBs are not up to our typical level. i mean, in CFB there's ALWAYS ways to get better and even the things we're good at can be improved even if it's just by getting better talent.
hurt that 2 of our best DBs were out vs. UCLA, but that's no excuse. our defense looked completely lost in general which was weird. i can't call it. i guess credit UCLA's staff?
i knew we weren't gonna run the table and that at least one (probably 2 or 3) team(s) would catch us slacking. that being said, i still took from the game that we almost came back despite two INTs. means we didn't quit, and if the game had been a half quarter longer, we probably come back to steal it.
