There are more memorable ones - the CU 5th down game and the Nebraska game ending in '97(?). Losing to OU in the Big XII title game.

But if there were ever a game that summed up to a T the horrible luck, bad coaching, and poor execution the program is historically known for, it would be this.

I think the football gods smote us for playing for the FG. Like, you're on the, what, four-yard line after marching down the field. You have all the momentum and you play for a FG? Granted, the kicker was preseason 1st team All-SEC, but he hadn't warmed up.

Second half of the schedule gets rough and it took some fortunate penalties on Purdue and Virginia to make the game winning scores happen….and I don’t care at all! We took nutkick bullshit unlucky ripoff losses every year in the McNabb era turning 11-1 into 9-3. Then we sucked for most of 20 years. It’s our damn time to get lucky for once! I’m mf’in living it up right now!
