Gees. The primetime slate is shaky this week.

Mitch vs Brisket tonight? *Drake negative head shake*

Cowboys vs Giants...fantasy football I guess.

Pretty Jimmy vs Russ? I'm kinda interested in this in a Jessie Spano way. But really, I'm just scared. Jimmy is what he is..pretty good when he's healthy but good luck expecting him to be healthy. And Russ is over here with Denver and they don't have it together, people are hurt already, and people thought he was ready to Febreze whatever was wrong with Denver's offense when Drew Lock was there.

I would love to have seen Brother Brisket get to run with a good squad for a whole season. This Cleveland gig might be the best one he's going to have for an extensive period of time. He was whoo riding with the Pats that year too even though they were somewhat obviously too careful with him.

The Amari Cooper Experience is a special one. These are usually the days like last night where he looks smooth, fast, forever open, and THOSE FEETS BE MOVIN REAL FAST! And even with that, he had the untouched stepping out of bounds before a big catch play. And he had at least one 'c'mon mane!' drop.

But you don't wanna be around when late November hits cuz he's almost always nursing some mysteriously damaged foot (I'm almost about to start calling it Bama foot. Or Julio Toes. Something). And then it all falls apart. He's never open. He's dropping more passes. He's almost a decoy. And then, even worse, the team he's on starts thinking 'the otha receiver' is better than he really is because he looks better than late season Cooper.

that said, I would have loved for them to keep him...they got gassed of CeeDee's first season and the Covid stuff and complaining about not getting the ball didn't help. Dude is huge, fast, runs great routes, has hands...and just sometimes forgets that he possesses those attributes...sometimes.

Mitch is horrible..

3 games in 11 days and we lead the oead in most snaps by a defense because Mitch keeps going 3 and out.

D is exhausted, O was 1 for 9 on 3rd down. Can’t win anything when you have a drive that last 48 seconds.

Mike T about to lose me if he sticks with Mitch. This is some Hue Jackson bullshit. Put Kenny in and see what he has, the OL is not that bad and Mitch is too scared to go deep consistently.

WR’s body language is terrible.

We have 10 days before the Jets at home. Perfect time to turn to Kenny.

You could say, maybe he could just help at the end of the season...but, the play he got injured on was like halfway through WEEK ONE. So, it could happen at any moment.

They have drafted well over the last 5 years. I still question whether they have the right coach. Herbert is playing with basically broken ribs so I give him a bit of a pass today but he and the Chargers have to win.

Yeah. They have a parade of players that people don’t get excited about at this point but it is all working right now. And their division is winnable.

I’m mostly glad they moved on pretty quickly. In a different era, that clown shit might’ve gone on for 2-3 years.

Yes, Wentz, busted O-Line. Holding them to 8, even with the few mistakes they made was pretty good.

shout out to the Eagles offense putting up 24 in the 2nd quarter... and no time else lol

none of these things are sustainable but I'm still glad to see Jalen making the changes he needs to be an even better QB. Devonta Smith is being UNLOCKED. AJ Brown is a difference maker. And then you have Quez (U Mad???) and "Mau Mau" Pascal who is the new Avant. That passing game is gonna EAT. That Gannon (Cleveland guy!) is putting this talent in a really good place to succeed. TJ Edwards was pretty boss. Reddick, Gardner, Bradberry excellent pickups.

Cardinals, Cowboys, bye, Steelers coming up. We comin' for you.

Commanders defense (aka The Crimson Guard), never mind the 24 point drop... is a pain in the ass. their secondary especially. Some really skilled dudes there. A good test to see how Hurts reacts to certain situations.

Yes, I'm mad. Let's move on.

with high TD to low INT ratios

what it looks like right now is a team who isn’t used to the football getting there this early.

A lot of drops and balls bouncing off of hands

haven’t watched the whole game tho.. but neither team wants to win.

ive never seen the media constantly reassure itself of a players greatness when a player loses like they do with herbert.

like theres always something they take away from that game that proves to them herbert will be great. except an actual win lol.

its andrew luck on steroids.

dudes career record stands at 16-19 now with no sign of the trend reversing any time soon.

meanwhile lamar jackson is 43-18 with nowhere near the talent herbert has around him and every year the media is telling us what he cant do and how he comes up short.

In response to Reply # 55

sure, his coach is an idiot but that team also lost games that didn’t involve 4th down madness.

They just aren’t what people want them to be.

Herbert can sling it but he is like Phillip Rivers. Bunch of yards and close losses (except yesterday, lol)

i'm no herbert apologist cuz my thing is if you feel you're well enough to go out and play then you gotta produce and if you're too hurt to produce like you normally can then you need to sit down.

that being said, broken ribs are different than "my ankle is sore."

“my ankle is soar”

really? Dude uses his legs to extend plays and was responsible for like 90% of the offense.

nah, his ankle was fucked up.

that’s that bullshit

i've played sports with a fucked up ankle and fucked up ribs.

not the same.

PERIOD.

and i'm by NO means saying i could even sniff the level of athlete Lamar is or whatever. but you can run around on a sore ankle A LOT.

when your ribs are cracked you can barely fucking breathe.

and that ain't cutting Herbert no slack. if he's out there he should be better. if he can't really perform cuz of his injury he needs to sit down.

fwiw, i ain't never thought Herbert was that great in the first place.

In response to Reply # 95

Broken rips means it hurts to breath while standing still, I can’t imagine trying to play a sport where you have to run, throw or get tackled with broken rips.

Not downplay an ankle injury, which also hurts when running.

cant bring those crappy Big Ten teams to the NFL to play against every week

and from what I have seen it looks like the Denver skill
players aren’t ready for prime time.

Lots of drops by the WR’s and fumbles by RB’s.

QB Russell Wilson
2022 fourth-round pick

Seahawks get:

QB Drew Lock
DT Shelby Harris
TE Noah Fant
2022 first-round pick
2022 second-round pick
2022 fifth-round pick
2023 first-round pick
2023 second-round pick

That is just criminal ,

Chiefs would have won if they didn't have a back-up kicker missing extra points and 25-yard field goals

Matt Ryan is getting credit for the last drive but he was ass for most of the game, and for all of Carson Wentz' carelessness, Ryan has 7 fucking fumbles in 3 games

now Indy is going to be stuck in this loop where they think they can compete, only to peak at mediocre

Ryan is a more consistent Jimmy G. And I mean that as an insult.

And yeah, nobody has any business trusting the Colts this year. There is good news. At least Ryan is obviously temporary. Wentz was still young and he’s neon sign/Goodyear blimp/persistent alarm/almost anyone can see it bad when he’s bad. Well anyone but the people who just look at stats and throw their agenda onto the numbers.

And it sure seems like Wentz isn’t exactly ‘building relationships’ on these teams.

before this season is done. He may not be as good as he once was due to age and all the sacks, but this dude is NOT washed. No way. Rodgers struggled a bit with Nathaniel Hackett's offense, at first...then he ran off two MVP seasons. Definitely not saying Russ is gonna do that, but it's going to get much better. Also, those Bronco receivers have probably never had someone who could put the ball on them like that, in a long time (sorry Drew Locke/Teddy B.). There were a lot of shitty drops of catchable passes.

It looks like dudes didn't get work done during the offseason. The trade went down in March so it ain't like they didn't have time.

I don't love that it seems like the wrs don't know the plays sometimes. It was super jarring in week 1 with the noise in Seattle. I'm thinking 'how hard could this playbook be?'. Maybe the nomenclature is goofy? IDK. Maybe there just wasn't enough time. But even with that, how is there not a 'until we get our shit together' simplified playbook of some kind? Slant, 9, Out, In, Drag, Smoke, Corner, Up and Out, Leggo. Madden this shit up!

And option routes annoy me in general because you need some serious 'synergy' to make those work the way they need to. AKA if you don't have that shit together, you shouldn't be calling a bunch of those in real games.

Also, Wilson is missing throws. This happens all Sunday long so I'm not saying he gets no room to learn his new crew. But he's missing a lot of em. For the deeper throws I can accept that it takes time to get those 'connections' set up. We'll see!

It is all frustrating to watch in primetime. Broncos/Colts is Thursday night in week 5 so we get ONE week away from this team in primetime. And now that they have hired a person to be like 'hey yawl, punt', maybe the ultra silly stuff is settled and it is a matter of getting the rhythm down.

His bell was rung. He went back out there, and he didn’t incur any further health

because the situation is after the fact.

Drama in between games is big business. The pitchforks are always nearby. Most of them don’t have real sharp points. But it passes the time from Monday night to Thursday night.

This season is done for the Chargers. They should shut Herbert down and then fire Staley. If they are going to keep Herbert playing then fire Staley and bring in Payton during the season. The Chargers current OC is Joe Lombardi, who was Payton’s OC in NO so you have to figure he has basically installed Payton’s offense.

both injured and out. That means the pass protection is going to be bad to terrible so he is just risking further injury. Shut it down, hopefully the Chargers fire Staley and get a high draft pick and then roll with Payton for next year.

I'm really trying to make myself understand how defenses going heavy into 2 deep safeties is killing off multiple offenses. I want to believe it is much more complex than this talking point that is gaining steam. I mean, you can see it more when you're watching the games, but c'mon. I want to believe that the lowkey hating on how bad some offensive lines are is just as big a deal too.

Meanwhile...Lamar and Hurts are out here whoooo ridin on the whole league every week. And I love to see it! Meanwhile, some of these teams look like they're never going to score 30 against a healthy defense again. It is all very interesting to me.

He’s been running for his life with trash WR’s and a new OC every year, his entire career.

Giants offense has 3 players: Barkley, Andrew Thomas, and Jones.

Shepard is mediocre.

Everyone else is subpar.

Give Jones some help and he’s rock solid.

With the game on the line, the scrub no name WR he threw to fell down while running and pumping his arms all hard like a 12th man scrub in high school hoops practice running suicides and trying to show the coach he’s trying hard, while the “best” WR on the team fell down with either a knee/achilles injury and nobody near him.

If you keep getting calls from two different weird numbers, it is because the Commanders and Raiders are calling you with lists of ridiculously terrible FA signings.

Having written that little funny, Kenny G HAS BEEN DAMN TERRIBLE. And now, he can't beat out barely in the league WRs for playing time!? That's a shame. I want to believe he's physically broken after whatever happened with his hip. Maybe it is that? And everything else comes off of that?

for the record I totally agree they overhype white QB’s all fucking day and downplay Lamar.

but..

Baker won a playoff game IN PITTSBURGH. A Brown’s QB won a playoff game in the Burgh and then pushed KC to the brink… and one year later they kicked his ass to the curb.

I believe the last time a Browns QB won ANY playoff game was 1994.

For the life of me I will never understand how that team, city, FO turned on this dude 365 days later. He should’ve been treated like royalty. They treated Baker like a nigga.. Vince Young was treated better his last year.

Seriously tho, I will never understand how a team who went that long without a playoff win can act like they deserved a SB trip because of preseason hype.

From deep in my heart and with everything mind, body, and soul, I hope Lamar manages to put together a completely ignant ass season where the Ravens beat down everyone, he puts up Tecmo Super Bowl stats so the fantasy folks and spreadsheet warriors can only STFU, and they win a SB. And I want them to win it while throwing a lot of sacred cows and allegedly amazing folks down flights of stairs all January long while people pick against him every week out of desperate hope that they don't have to accept that they had dude fucked up from the beginning AND they failed to adjust as he was obviously getting better every year except the 2021 season when he was hurt a lot and the team was crippled with cluster injuries at key positions too. And yeah, RB is a key position. People are out of their minds to think anyone can redo a whole RB room around Labor Day and there wouldn't be a price to pay.

You said a lot of it right here.

And I think I get it too: Bayka was NEVER as good as he was billed as being. He had NO business getting picked when he did in the draft.

BUT

I view the hate on him as the market overcorrecting instead of just admitting they were wrong about dubbing Baker as a white Russ with better accuracy. I'm even more embarrassed for the league as a whole that Seattle damn near traded Russ for Baker and the story got out.

Still, they (Cleveland brass, the media in general, average meatheads who think fantasy football is football, and others) went from covering his warts and blaming EVERYONE BUT HIM to all of a sudden deciding he was hopelessly putrid and not worthy of even being on a team in a league where Tanny has consistently been a starting QB for several years.

makes me damn near a Ravens fan unless they are playing us.

I mean, I enjoy watching the guy play and LOVE seeing him toss TD’s and make these clowns cry. They actually said the league had Lamar figured out last year.. like there weren’t major injuries with that team.

I can recognize a great player when I see one regardless of who he plays for.. I’m also comfortable in my skin as a Black Steeler fan born and raised in the Burgh. Those fans aint shit.

as far as Baker is concerned. I hear you on the overcorrection I’m just shocked a franchise like the Browns have the audacity to treat a QB like this. Niggas ran through like 30 QB’s in the last 10 years. This Watson contract gonna fuck them up something serious too.

While I blame much of the Baker-led Browns teams failures on the defensive side of the ball (especially under Joe Woods), Baker wasn't blameless.

Baker's biggest failing is that he is trying to be Mahomes or Josh Allen without doing the work of the latter. He plays way too much out of the system/offense -- basically he is the QB version of Dion Waiters.

He also has some horrible PR habits as well.

All he had to do is chill and trust Stefanski's system, which is pretty QB friendly (remember, he was the OC that took Case Keenum to the NFCCG).

Last season, the most boring QB play could have won the Browns the AFC North. Especially in a season where Big Ben tanked the Steelers and the Ravens imploded.

Jacoby Brissett, a no-nonsense backup is proving that moving him was worth it already.

Granted, if there was no Deshaun level QB on the market, Baker's future with the Browns would have gone the way of Wentz in Philly. Either Malik Willis or Desmond Ridder would have been drafted and Baker would be on a probationary review in a contract season. That I'll bet.

Now that I say it.

Baker Mayfield = Carson Wentz

Drafted high, had a lot of promise, then got out of hand after an injury and needless friction in the locker room/front office.

Yes, I'm mad. Let's move on.

Interesting. The funny part of this: Wentz keeps getting chances because of physical traits and an assumption that his warts can be 'fixed'. Baker is almost toast already because of lack of physical traits...the same physical shortcomings that got ignored when he got picked so high in the draft.

And also, yeah...Baker getting hurt AND trying to play hurt when he was already not physically great AND finding a way to tick off his locker room AND somehow falling into a PR war with the front office...brother was acting like he had way more rope than he really did. He might be one the biggest 'fuck around and find out' QBs since Jonathan Football. Josh Rosen has him beat but wow. Dude went from commercials and Cleveland landing on prime time a lot to waiting around for a bad team to crack and trade for him FAST.

Meanwhile, Brian 'Ultimate' Hoyer is still finding his way to clipboards.

but it's hard to deny that he hasn't thrown the ball well in the playoffs. a lot of costly picks. here was his second to last throw in a playoff game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ke2mS9-dPpI

i hope he turns it around this year. just not against the Bills.

>shit...these niggas were really out here hyping up 30 yr old
>utility player taysom hill because he ran a couple red zone
>plays well.

that pissed me off the most.

Taysom Hill is exactly the kind of QB that should be getting the "RB1" tag. He was NOT better than Jameis and he was getting all that air.

And I remember some EAGLES fans on the Internet were saying he was a better QB than Jalen Hurts last season. I was like "WTF????!!!"

If Baker played like Lamar, the whole Deshaun episode would not have happened.

Yes, I'm mad. Let's move on.
