1. "Chris Haynes: LeBron wanted Demar; but FO balked at 3 year-deal"
In response to Reply # 0

Haynes confirmed that LeBron and the front office wanted Demar first (before exploring Russ deal), but the FO did not want to give Demar a 3 year deal (to open up space in 2023) - and thus they pivoted to Russ.

FO can't spin this one away.

How would that have worked? Demar was free agent, Russ was a trade

Not privy to the inside baseball on that - but apparently it was going to be a sign-and-trade. Haynes has reported on this and has been consistent about the Derozan deal being essentially done - except for the FO not wanting to commit to 3+ with Demar (which doesn't make any sense to me).

Not convinced Pop would have given up DD for KCP and Kuzma to the Lakers but who knows.

If this is accurate- the FO is just so fucking dumb. But also there’s no way DD has an MVP level year on this Lakers squad.

They let Porzingis wreak havoc and blew a 16 pt lead against a team without Beal or Kuzma. Meanwhile, Howard was a healthy scratch.

I hate when he tries to do that small ball shit, its good offensively because it creates mismatches for Bron but we get destroyed defensively and on the boards.

In response to Reply # 0

Beating Jokic and 'em with no Jarrett Allen available was no joke. That is one dude on that team that does not matchup well with the Cavs, and he's a problem in the passing game because his big ass can just one hand "Kevin Love" it to the open man.

Lauri Markkanen had a very respectable game against Denver.
Darius Garland is putting up LeBron "standard" numbers (he averages over 20 points and 10 assists for I don't know how many games since coming back into the lineup).

You might laugh but the Pistons are a HORRID matchup for the Cavs. Their big game is mid, but they have wings that can shoot and they move well without the ball. The Kryptonite of this team, who can not defend the 3 very well or at all.

Good on JBB bringing back Cedi for that one. He and Kevin Love know their roles. Just gotta execute.

Dean Wade is likely going to be out for a long while, maybe the rest of the season.

Lauri Markkanen was huge in this game as well. Dagger 3 just when the Cavs needed to keep the Pistons' 3 point shooters at bay.

Cade pissed off a lot of bettors with that garbage time (and I mean 2 seconds on the clock 3).

Toronto is on the Cavs' asses for that 6-slot. These wins really count now.

For the first time since LeBron left (both in 2010 and 2018), the Cavs will not have a losing season, now that they have crossed into 41 wins.

Good news.

Yes, I'm mad. Let's move on.

to still watch the Knicks play this season. Too much stress and aggravation for me to stomach the heartache.

Outside of Randle stinking it up, I'm reading on social media the Thibs pulled Quickley and Toppin in the middle of a fourth quarter rally to sub in Randle and Fournier. I'm also reading that the Jazz stomped the Knicks' ears together as soon as those substitutions were made.

Quick did a football pass to Obi for an easy dunk, cuts the Jazz lead to 5...there was about 5 minutes left in the game. Second unit had battled and cut the lead down. Numbskull subs in Juls and Fournier. Jazz immediately go on a 15-2 run. Ballgame.

McBride got 3 minutes of playing time, was plus 6. Never got back in the game and Mitchell ends up with 36.

Part of me wants us to win, but part of me wants the rest of the season to be this so Dolan will pull the trigger and get this bum out of the Garden.

I like our roster (even Juls) but I hate our coach. We aren't championship caliber, but we can grow into a conference finals type team and with the right coach, the final piece, whomever that may be, will WANT to play for NY. Who would come and play for this dipshit now after what he did to Kemba?

That shit was a regular ass dunk "on" a guy who.... stood still.

But even in those circumstances, Anthony Edwards has him beat by a lot:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-fzBaYgDLPI

Of course, he started the year by abusing BI:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RxWioQtlbN0

Then there's this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TEUm0LgJuzg

All of which are better and more vicious than what Lebron did to Love.

There's a ridiculous amount of hype over this dunk, so I thought it was something special.

But it was just a regular ol dunk with a guy who just tried to take a charge.

Over what is, i objectively, a plain old dunk where one of the NBA’s worst defending big men stood still?

Not being absurdly excited and impressed by a mundane dunk is miserable?

No, if anything, you- a genuine Stan if ever there were one, be honest here- are overcompensating like a motherfucker, magnifying this into something that it objectively isn’t.

You didn't think LeBron in year 19 - a game after surpassing Malone to become #2 all time - dunking on a guy with his head *at* rim-level - in Cleveland in what was one of his last appearances there of his career - wasn't noteworthy at all?

Like, nothing to see here at all - nothing objectively cool about it.

In contrast, Malone was running on fumes at this stage of his career - as was virtually everyone else at this stage of their career.

LeBron? He's dunking on guys with his head at rim-level.

but yea - "objectively" nothing remarkable about it. lol.

Just enjoy the game - it's a sport. You're getting bent out of shape about a historic moment. No need to get big sad about it.

Stop

He stood still and Bron charged into him.

The dunk isn't anymore OMG HOLY SHIT because of his age.

Your choice of words illustrates that you know this.

I said it wasn't *noteworthy*.

I didn't say it wasn't "cool"

Do you think everything "cool" is also "noteworthy"?

Noteworthy is his overall performance at this age, but that dunk in particular isn't a standout by any stretch.

And nobody is "bent out of shape" or "big sad" about anything, Stanley.

I just have eyes that aren't clouded by fanatic hero worship.

It was, objectively, a generic dunk in front of- not on, stop being ridiculous- a trash defender who didn't even try to make a play on the ball.

-I didn't walk back a thing.

"cool" and "noteworthy" are two different things> I never said it wasn't "cool". I said it wasn't noteworthy.

you switched up the verbiage there, not me, and there's a reason for that.

-After that nonsense, you're now running to an appeal to popularity to justify what is objectively a bad take, as though a lot of people believing something makes it true.

There's a long ass list of things a lot of people believe, that don't stand up to the facts. And the fact here is, that was a regular ass dunk on a terrible defender who didn't make an effort to actually stop the play. The fact "essentially everyone" made a big deal out of it doesn't change that fact. It's not like we've never seen pretty much that exact same dunk a hundred times from Lebron.

By your argument, everything that a lot of people believe, must be true, by virtue of a lot of people believing in it. nearly everyone in the history of the world believes in a god of some sort, I suppose you believe that bullshit too.

So not only did you need to use different verbiage than I did to make your "point", you had to use what is, yet again, an objectively poor argument to get there.

-How am I "stanning for my team"? They're terrible and I've been consistent in wanting a serious overhaul. That is, objectively, the opposite of stanning

-get a genuine hug from somebody you love. You need that.

-That last line of yours is some bitch shit to say. Basically, you're doing everything someone does when they don't have much of an argument. It's funny because my son was hugging my shoulder and giving me a "thousand kisses" as he calls it, while I was reading that trash.

Nothing screams sycophant like having to resort to the idea that anyone who isn't over the top impressed by something mundane, must be miserable.

Which is fine, since I'm fine. But what really makes you a genuine piece of shit for that is, you don't really know whether that's true or not.

Because someone who is that "miserable", and in that much in need of affection, saying shit like that would make it that much worse. I do genuinely deal with rather severe depression and anxiety, stemming from diagnosed PTSD and other shit I won't bother telling your bitch ass about.

Fortunately for me, I have a handle on that shit- and no, not getting super duper excited over a Lebron dunk and engaging in a disagreeable discussion with a POS like you doesn't somehow mean that I don't.

Because a punk ass stan spewing bad opinions on the internet doesn't impact my emotions, Real-world things do, but not you.

But for someone who doesn't have a handle on it, or who actually places stock in things anonymous cowards like you say online, yeah, shit like that definitely makes it a lot worse.

So it says a lot about you that you need to stoop to that level just because someone isn't losing their mind over a fucking DUNK the way you are.

It's funny though. Trash like you always say shit like that, as though you got off a sick burn, bro, but you're just showcasing what a pile of human shit you are.

Congrats. I'm sure you'll have more opportunity to show exactly the sort of trash you are, and I'll be happy to point it out.

...no. I'm responding to the "hug" bullshit you said, and it's absolutely warranted. And it's hardly a "temper tantrum" to call your bitch ass out for doing bitch ass shit.

The difference here is, I'm overt with my shit. I don't do this mealy-mouthed fuckshit you do with that whole "you need a hug" bit.

You're trash for saying shit like that- and you don't get to claim the high ground just because I called your punk ass out for it.

lmao nope, literally the opposite happened here. But again, you're a particular brand of trash, and gaslighting seems like your stock in trade when you get called out for it. "but you called me a name!" doesn't give you the high road, and it doesn't magically alter the course of events.

You can pretend that I said what I said over a disagreement over a dunk- but this shit is a written record, and that's not at all what happened. This is an objective, verifiable fact.

>You gonna roast Vince Carter next for considering this LeBron

...no. Because I doubt he'd take the piece of shit tact you took if I disagreed with him. And if he did, then yeah, I'd call him out too.

I won't dignify your trash again though. I've seen your true colors a few times now, and I see you for what you are- and you are beneath me and my time.

He got dunked on, and it was impressive. Not dunk of the year, but a 37 year with his head at the rim is spectacular.

The shots he hit at the end of the game were better than the dunk tho.

Whatever you think of the dunk itself...there are a bunch of dudes who came into the league AFTER Bron who are still playing that are shells of their former selves...and he's still doing THIS.

They always got these little arguments and back and forth either on the court or on the bench , Royce O’Neale and Conley gotta be the constant mediators

There is no way this Utah team goes far with this core group

Edit had no idea Rudy gay was still in the league

In response to Reply # 21

Just like before he was injured and they were top of the East.

Nets are 6-1 in their last 7 (including signature wins over Sixers/Jazz), and would be 7-0 without a buzzer-beater loss to the Mavs.

They've got elite role players stepping up big. KD is back to being KD, which means Nets can beat anyone - with or without Ben Simmons.

But if/when Ben actually plays and Kyrie can actually play full-time? Yikes. Scary Hours get even scarier IMO.

I expect some sort of grievance to be filed by BKN
There were leaks about Little Ben filing a grievance to recoup money he forfeited by quitting
I expect BKN has some grounds to at least file a motion or two
...and I ASSume they're going to be mad AF when they don't win a chip... again...
We traded a dude with a herniated disc
...and there were implications of tampering...
I'm not 'worried' about our bench
I just want Little Ben to go away.

They play well, or something fun happens.

I mean, they'll probably lose the play in game (honestly a game vs NOP especially if AD is back will be fun, I hope) but every 5 games or so I get a glimmer of hope that not ALL is lost in this year.

Honestly the coolest thing has been seeing Lebron breaking records wearing a Laker jersey.

On one had - it's frustrating as hell to see the Lakers never healthy - and the lineup constantly being dismembered.

On the flip, watching LeBron play at *this* level at this age is astounding. And it is special that he's doing it in the lore of Laker land - where all the greats have made their mark.

LeBron is Wilt'ing this generation with utter absurdity in terms of individual dominance.

..even at 100%, I'm not sure this roster has the defensive mettle to weather the storm.

That's the real difference btwn the team that won it all in '20 and the current roster.

Even if AD is healthy, this team just doesn't bring the effort for 4 qtrs.

..I said consider it a gap year because its very unlikely that this team suddenly pulls it together and flips a switch to start playing team defense.

Are the Lakers capable of winning games against elite teams with a healthy Bron & AD?

Yes.

At the same time, this team has developed some very bad habits and I don't really see them resolving those issues overnight.

I'm still all-in, just realistic about the odds.

Everyone is assuming CP3 is going to come back 100% but is that a given?

Do we know the status of Steph & Draymond?

Memphis looks good but is unproven and Ja has had his health issues...

that's a huge if though. But even if he comes back to 75%, and somehow Nunn plays and contributes - and these new young legs keep contributing, who knows. Lot of ifs though lol

3 weeks left in the season and Lakers still have had zero continuity at the top end.

The one team that I see as disaster for Lakers to play early: Suns - which looks like their likely early matchup again (assuming they even sneak into the playoffs). Ever since the Lakers went up 2-1 against the Suns last year - Suns have destroyed them in every matchup.

But if they play the Warriors/Grizz/Jazz/Mavs? Anything can happen if Lakers are healthy.

In response to Reply # 64

I'm confused.

Are you under the impression that that title will magically heal his injuries?

Do you think his knee or foot will wake up one day and say, OH YEAH, 2020, and hulk up?

Will that title somehow cause him to *not* look like an exploding rack of bowling pins any time he takes contact?

There's a reason the phrase most often used when discussing Anthony Davis is, "when healthy".

The title is what was.

AD being out with an injury, returning, looking like he gets injured five times a game while he plays for a few weeks before going out again, is what *is*.

And it's that's not going to change. That will be the normal going forward.

That's just the reality.

I can enjoy a growing team with a future, and I can enjoy a contender. But a team without a real future who's only bright spot has been LBJ breaking records isn't all that fun to watch. I mean, I still follow - and I still watch a lot of games - but to act like this team really has a shot at making serious noise? Nah. Not going to trick myself. I'll just enjoy whatever ride this is.

Obi: 10 points, some mistakes on defense but he is finding his way like Sims, who is doing excellent on defense, boxing out on rebounds, keep possessions alive, you know, shit the Knicks could have used in the last six minutes of the game.

McBride: 8 minutes. Trae didn't even try to shoot while Deuce was on him...choosing to rest until the inevitable...Thibs subbing Burks back in...

Then he went to work...ran P & R, got the matchup he wanted, Atlanta went on a run and pulled away.

RJ was on fire in the first half...second half, them long ass arms corralled him, he was often surrounded by 2 defenders. Got to the line though, so he ended up with 30.

IQ had 17, and I maintain he is better off the ball. Coming around the pick on the perimeter he is an absolute nightmare or if he gets the ball when someone drives and kicks, he can then move and attack...but when he initiates, its still varied results.

Grimes - not enough time. IQ got abused by Bogdonovic and I thought at that point Grimes would have done better as he matches up physically.

I think Mitch is sitting on so much game offensively that we overlook, He is not just a rim runner, but we will never know as long as Voldemort is coaching.

Punch the Bulls in the mouth and they will layout
like starfish.

They are 0-16 against the top 3 teams in both conferences.

None of our star players are dogs....The are soft ass scorers who
can’t play a lick of defense.

Derozan played for Toronto and the Spurs and he still doesn’t
know how to play defense

The bulls are a pretty woman who can’t cook.

Fock this whole weak ass squad.

And Lonzo Ball having another season where he is injured and can’t be
on the court....

streak and some MVP hype people were acting like at age 32 he was some new player that we hadn't seen before. The midrange game is nice but its easy to double-team if that's your bread and butter.

He's the same guy that lost to LeBron every year in Toronto and missed the playoffs the last 2 years in San Antonio

Part of me was hoping they'd at least keep it competitive with Middleton out.
I was really encouraged at the effort I saw against the Raptors the other night.
We were forcing and scoring off of turnovers.

What I think Donovan is going to have to figure out is that 2nd unit.
He's giving minutes to Pat Williams (which I get) and Thompson.
Tristan hasn't been able to switch, he's not a rim protector and his lack of speed has been a factor.
I'd rather see him go small with Derrick Jones Jr.
That way EVERYBODY in that 2nd unit is switching and guarding everybody.

I think this offense also misses Lonzo Ball.
I like that Donovan brought Caruso to the staring lineup, but
last night Caruso was bringing the ball up so SLOW! Even after rebounds!
Ball pushes hard after rebounds and creates fastbreak opportunities so easily.
Even Ayo moves the ball faster when he's running point.

I'm not willing to say the Bulls are trash,
but they way we're playing now, I don't see us getting out of the first round.
And honestly, that's still a good season given where we've played the last 5 years.

seems like nba media always has an excuse for warriors shitting the bed.

klay is out. dray is out. steph is out. etc.

but there are other teams who deal with all types of adversity who still show up with a spirited effort every night, dont play dumb ass ball, and definitely dont mentally collapse late in games every chance they get.

dude is in a constant state of experimental rotations and theres still so much lack of resolution on a lot of players roles even this late in the season.

dude will inexplicably let his opponent go on a 19-0 game-changing run without calling a single timeout. makes no sense.

and he will regularly take a hot man out the game because he has some pre-determined minutes distribution in his head regardless of how people are actually playing.

automatically starting klay is prolly one of the worst and most consequential coaching moves of the season for any contender. literally fucked up the chemistry of the *entire* team. starters and bench. and klay himself has stalled with no signs of him actually progressing close to old starter klay level. he looks slow and doubtful out there. on both ends. i think he might have been actually crying on the bench after giving the game away with that dumb ass foul on the 3 pointer with seconds left in the game and 1 second left on the shot clock.

theres no reason this team should be almost guaranteed to blow big leads and choke...especially against some of the worst teams in the league...if they were lead by a coach who was as good as kerr is *supposed* to be.

but I understand the concerns. it's a bad look now, and you wonder if it will be repeated with the structural cracks in the Warriors lineup.

"No Steph" should be the ultimate excuse for this squad but I do believe you are right about their use of Klay. He should be in "Kevin Love" mode until he gets right (IF he gets right). Jordan Poole can play his old role for now.

Of all the Warriors Big 3, Klay being out was the one the Warriors actually worked around (because they were forced). The same can be said of Bray-mond to a degree. Not ideal but they dealt with it as well as you could.

Steph being out is a problem the Warriors really can't work around. Hope that Klay or Poole has a major night. Defense instantly changes when he's gone.

As for Wiggins... LOL

And no time outs when a run is going on is just BS. I get frustrated with that with my own team.

Yes, I'm mad. Let's move on.

I have to remind myself that the Cavs have secured their first winning season in 3 years, without LeBron.

But I am not happy about how this team plays defense, which has implications beyond the Lakers game. It is straight trash, and like the offense, it has a correlation on offense.

Darius Garland is playing LeBron minutes, and putting up "LeBron" numbers (he had another assist game in the teens while scoring 20+). But the way he's being used is wrong IMO. He's actually playing "Sexton ball" with more assists which actually resembles a more Westbrook-like sort of game (even if it doesn't look like). He needs to be a hub, not a hero. When the Cavs were moving the ball well, Garland wasn't the initiator. It got passed to him, then around the court.

Lakers were able to destroy the Cavs because they don't move around on defense to cut off LeBron's passing options. JBB is ADDICTED to help defense which pisses me off. Fuck helping for someone going to the hoop, especially if it's LeBron. No one is going to stop him that way. Get at the gotdamn SHOOTERS. Fuckin DJ Augustin had 7 3 attempts he didn't miss. Westbrook should have had about 5 because NO one was on him in the corner.

Cavs could have won that game with their full staff, but there are foundational issues that could have them looking like this season's Knicks, next season, and I don't want to see that.

Just keep the 6 seed. The upcoming game against Toronto is huge.

Is JBB our Mark Jackson? That's the question.

Yes, I'm mad. Let's move on.

So I could see just how the Celtics are managing to win the number of games they've been winning since the All Star break. Their overall record is crazy impressive given how terrible they started out the season. If the Knicks didn't take the desire out of me for watching basketball this season, I'd have more genuine interest.

Seems as if their head coach is a winner on and off the court; first time head coach with such a stellar record with what on paper isn't the best roster and he's fortunate to go home every night to Nia Long.

>Nets bench actually has depth this year.

what depth?

James Johnson is atrocious

Bruce Brown is just OK

Blake is Washed

Patty Mills jump shot died and went to Aussie heaven.

Kessler and Claxton are still raw as hell, and cant be counted on as third options.

What are you seeing lol, Kyrie and KD went for nearly 70 tonight and STILL lost

Goran Dragic was a nice pick up just joined the team a few weeks ago

Patty Mills is shooting 40 percent from three for the year. Claxton is one of the better young rim runners in the league, Kessler is still learning but they have Aldridge for spot duty, Dragic....Blake is in case of emergency break glass. Johnson is versatile...they don't have to be Jamal Crawford or Herro. Last year they went like three deep and that was before the injuries hit.

Then they have the other Curry, now Ky Ky and Durant full time, and Drummond just being a glass eater....

Memphis is DEEP and has even scoring distribution on a night where Ja sits out, the Nets mortgaged all that to get their big 3

>Claxton is one of the better young rim runners in the league,

he cant get his own shot, but he is a great rebounding and paint threat..the nets will keep him and let drummond go this off season

>Kessler is still learning

hes not ready

but they have Aldridge for spot
>duty,

hes washed

>Dragic....

still very productive

>Blake is in case of emergency break glass.

washed
>Johnson is versatile...

he's an offensive liability, every time he goes up to shoot or go the basket the entire arena groans bc the ending is predictable

>they don't have to be Jamal Crawford

I cant believe he got forced into retirement , I know he was still good off the bench for someone in this league

or
>Herro. Last year they went like three deep and that was
>before the injuries hit.

That was last year, they lost most of their good bench depth in the Harden trade

>Then they have the other Curry, now Ky Ky and Durant full
>time, and Drummond just being a glass eater....

the other Curry is injured, and Joe Harris being out for the season is hurting them too.

KD and Kyrie dont have enough help this year

your assessment of Brooklyn?

All they have is Durant and Kyrie and a shooter.

Memphis got leading players from top to bottom, and all play
both sides of the ball. The comparison is ridiculous.

Kyrie only needs 15 shots to score 30! Ja needs 30 shots.

remember how you said you preferred point guards who shoot less and facilitate more... yet you caping for Kyrie? Lolz.

>your assessment of Brooklyn?
>
>All they have is Durant and Kyrie and a shooter.

oh, all they have is ONE OF THE GREATEST PLAYERS IN THE HISTORY OF THE UNIVERSE???

and they HAD another HOFer all-time great offensive player that gave them the best offensive big 3 in league HISTORY, but World B. Flat drove him out of town with his smart dumb nigga team killing weirdo bullshit. And now you gonna cry about the talent around him (when he STILL playing next to the greatest scoring forward in NBA history)? FOH!

>Kyrie only needs 15 shots to score 30! Ja needs 30 shots.

LOL - Kyrie actually taking slightly more shots/game than Ja (21.0 vs 20.8) and they shooting the same FG% (.493 vs .494), Kyrie scoring 1 more PPG while Ja getting 1 more assist/game. But Ja's done that playing almost 3x more games than Kyrie, because again, World B. Flat a smart dumb nigga team killing weirdo.

Now go burn some sage and meditate on trying to make some damn sense.

Thompson interrupts the flow of Poole and Wiggins, because they
don’t know how to fit in.

So Wiggins goes passive and just focuses on defense.

is that Evan Fournier of all folks will have his name written in the Knicks history books since he broke to all time number of threes hit in a season.

Pretty wild given how haphazard this season has been and how inconsistent he is that he of all people broke that record, but here we are. That has to make him feel good on some level despite how terrible the team has been.

It appears that Haslem was telling Jimmy to lead the team, or to lead

I guess Jimmy was confronting Spo about the team or play of the team.....

But honesty that doesn’t really seem that bad?

I’m glad to see this angle BEFORE seeing the sensationalized ESPN takes. That looks like the product of being in the thick of a long season played at a high level. I dunno.

-The Knicks’ coaching search still includes a lone frontrunner, Kurt Rambis, whose qualifications for the position include a strong relationship with Jackson and a willingness to take the job.

but it should matter much more that the Heat lost to the Warrior's B-squad.

No Curry, no Klay, and no Draymond. Not a good look. THAT should humble them much more than some infighting. I have a feeling Butler and Haslem have probably bumped heads before; it just so happened that it occurred for the public to see.

His change in the 2nd half of the season combined with the team's defense is one of the biggest reasons of the turnaround. They could mess around and end up as the 1 seed. But I think I want them to stay at 3/4.

before getting to the ECF, you could be correct.

This is me being Bobby Boxcore and all, but I just checked basketball-reference.com to see how big the team is. I could be very wrong, but I don't see how the Celts win a seven game series where they'll have to defend Adebayo, Giannis, or Embiid. They are a pretty small team.

My only reservation is about their bench. Derrick White definitely helps out a ton, as does Theis, but other than that, they are definitely dangerous.

i thought they were safely in the top 10 because the 11th team was portland with both their stars gone and the gap was too large.

but spurs snuck up into that 11th spot and are only 2 games behind the lakers.

is of LeBron's knee problems are that serious for him to miss a grip of games or for his play to suffer. Mathematically, I can't see either the Blazers or the Spurs making for the differences to leap frog the Lakers, assuming LeBron is available.

so spurs halved a 4 game gap between them to 2 within 10 games.

its not at all impossible for them to do that again over the next 9.

It's unlikely, but it may.

Lakers also have 2 more games vs. New Orleans so they could jump up to 9th too.

when you play the majority of the season with a guy a lot of people think is MVP worthy that can hurt too.

When you go from a lotto team to the NBA Finals largely attributed to that guy you’re going to compete for votes

Jokic/Embiid will be 1st and 2nd for MVP, but one of them won't make 1st team all NBA (and then there's KAT vs Gobert which seems a pretty easy layup for KAT to be 3rd team but who knows)

Crazy to think that 2 of Bron/Tatum/Giannis/Durant won't be first team despite insane seasons.

The guards are the worst. Ja/Curry/DeRozan/Booker/CP3/Luka...just a murderers row.

considering how good and unexpected their season has been. I was just looking and if they lose this game against the Bulls tonight, they'll fall to the 7 seed. And based on their schedule they may be stuck there and facing Brooklyn in the play-in for 7th and losing, falling to the 8 matchup against someone like Atlanta. Yikes.

They are now 17-2 when Ja is out of the lineup.

They have several bucket getters and are putting up
more points with Jah out of the lineup, and they are doing
it efficiently.

That’s the difference. Kyrie and Durant will score 50
on 19 shots, but Jah will need 30 shots just to score 30-35
points. That takes shots from other players and leads to
inefficient play by the team.

And Jones is a pure PG, where as Jah is a scoring PG.

The difference is beyond glaring.

Is Memphis better with without Ja?

I think , all around, they are better with out him

Kyrie is a defensive liability and has never made 1st Team All-NBA in his 11 year career. Ja gonna be 1st Team All-NBA in his 3rd year in the league. Thanks for confirming Ja is a paragon of skill.

>Ja is injury prone, a weak defender, and Memphis plays on a

Since Ja came in the league he's played twice as many games as Kripple Ky has, is a better defender than Kyrie right today, and is the undisputed leader of his team and loved by his teammates, while World B. Flat is a team killing weirdo malcontent whose team plays better without him.

That's what I get for Bobby Boxscoring the assessment on the Lakers/Pelicans/Spurs going down the stretch. I just assuming having LeBron would automatically mean the Lakers would glide in the playoffs without having the face the play-ins.

I read that for the remaining 7-8 games, the Lakers have the second hardest remaining schedule based on the opponents winning percentage.

they arguably might only have 2 winnable games left against okc and the pelicans. and they just lost to the pelicans so they could easily lose again.

spurs got a pretty tough schedule to finish up too but they got a game against the rockets and back to back games against the blazers that should save em (they only need to tie the lakers record as it stands now).

BUMS.

Now people in Chicago are asking for Donovan to be fired, which is absurd.
The players are just bum ass hell defensively, and that ain’t on the coach.

They just one to play one side of the ball and get their stats.

Seems like the Bulls didn't have a plan for when teams started to double DeRozan.

And our defense can't be predicated on Caruso and Ball.

I expect Donovan (who I don't think should be fired) to bring DJJ in more in these last few games.

And Julius Randle is handling it like a spoiled 5 year old.

Knicks won their fourth in a row and Randle walked off the court like they lost by 25.

I really don't care if we make the play-in, I just want the kids to continue to get minutes. With his body language, Randle is setting himself up to be exiled. Which sucks because he could fix the things that aren't working for him right now and he would be loved even more than last year.

Immanuel Quickley is showing he is ready to start, as is Obi.

Thibs logic is "Julius is still young"

This is true, but his energy, body language and on court decisions have alienated the rest of the squad, and Thibs sticking with him is stupid in the face of the results.

The hilarious shit is he was in the presser yesterday talking about player development like he has been running the youth since the beginning of the season. He knows that his goose is cooked.

it is unreal to see, but it is almost unreal to see the effect Ricky Rubio had as his backup.

The Cavs had 2 very, very good guards in this regard at one point. The team hasn't been the same since Ricky got hurt.

JBB is running DG at LeBron minutes (40+ minutes).

After losing Williams to injury
End the day in 4th
Compounding the must win vs MIA tomorrow

I could understand sitting one of Brown/Tatum

Play the others limited minutes

But that didn't make a lot of sense if they were serious about winning the conference
