"2021/22 NBA Regular Season: Week 19"

LOL @ anyone trippin' over ESPN's 75 anniversary team rankings.

LMAO @ Reddick sounding like a grumpy ol' man about Zion not sending a text to McCollum, when CJ himself read nothing into it and said he looked forward to connecting with him soon (*Zion has reached out since then). Everyone knows there's some discord going on with New Orleans, but to speculate on private communication btwn teammates that have yet to share the same space is ridiculous.

LOL @ the NBA still not adding 1 on 1 to the All Star festivities.

because jj tends to be non confrontational and almost always shows deferrence/favoritism toward ex teammates.

but he said this is something he also brought up to zion in front of the team when he played for the pelicans. so something tells me he isnt the biggest fan of zion based on what hes seen up close and personal.

I'm surprised there wasn't a post on this.

I'm curious where a team would draft Bronny if that meant they get his Dad for one season.

Top 5?

And the final LeBron season?

How many national TV games does that team automatically get?

That said - he said he'd play with Bronny for his last year. He didn't say he'd play the year Bronny gets drafted - and I have to think that's intentional. Do I think Bron CAN play that long? I mean, it kinda seems like it. But he's under contract until the end of next year and let's say OKC drafts Bronny but Bron thinks he can still play at the level he's at right now, or even slightly less - I just CAN'T think he'll sign a multi year deal with any team that HE doesn't want. I do think he'll sign with whatever team Bronny is on for his last year though.

I don't know what type of prospect Bronny is,
but is he good enough to be in the league for a 2nd or 3rd year?

Bomani and Dominique Foxworth had a great conversation about LeBron
on The Right Time talking about players learning to invest in organizations
instead of trying to be "LeGM" everywhere they go.

Bomani said something to the effect that LeBron is quick to sign
for NON-basketball reasons. And when I thought it he's right.

It would be a really fucked up manipulative situation or all parties involved, but it's not like we don't have precedent in the NFL and NBA for players to juice their draft outcomes by saying they absolutely will not do X or Y if Z happens.

Let's see if McBride plays any meaningful minutes (as in more than 20) before April.

If Rose comes back and is playing 30 minutes a game, Thibs should be fired before the end of the season. Seriously.

15. "De'Aaron Fox: Crypto Scammer"
In response to Reply # 0

https://web3isgoinggreat.com/?id=2022-02-23-1

"Sacramento Kings player De'Aaron Fox announced his "SwipaTheFox" NFT project in mid-December, and the "high utility NFT collection" went live on January 15. The project roadmap promised a metaverse basketball court, a scholarship to a University of Kentucky student, and chances to win all-star gaming tickets, as well as "much more to come". The project had over 100,000 people in its Discord, and pulled in about 475 ETH (about $1.5 million at the time).

Suddenly, on February 23, the project deleted its social media accounts and most of its Discord. Fox wrote in the remaining Discord announcements channel that "The time and attention that y’all deserve and that I wanted to give you all/what this project requires, was not known to me and I overstepped and stretched myself too thin, trying to do this project in the middle of an NBA season." He promised to send anyone who bought more than five NFTs (which would have cost ~0.4 ETH, around $1,300, if bought at mint price) a signed jersey (thanks I guess!). Meanwhile, Fox made no apparent effort to communicate publicly that the project was shutting down, such as on his personal 288,000-follower Twitter account where he had previously been hyping the project."

37 points 9 assists 2 boards and just a flawless game executing the offense and splashing from all over the floor

23 in the 4th quarter

Point guards with nice jump shots >>> point guards who just run fast dunk and miss free three throws / threes

Gonna be real sweet when the T Wolves knock the Lakers out of the play-in game

So by your definition, runner up for MVP also means nothing - which is, of course - false.

But sure. Let's go with 4th place for MVP doesn't exist.

32. "I've always thought it'd be cooler if the NBA recorded MVP like the MLB"
In response to Reply # 31

Or maybe just that fans wanted to think of it the way baseball fans do. When you look at LeBron's B-Ref page for example you get bombarded with numbers and they'll even note All-Star seasons but you have to scroll to the bottom of the page to find out what years he won MVP, and it's not intuitive to tie certain years when he SHOULD'VE or COULD'VE won without going even deeper and looking at their vote records.

Whereas I pull up, say, Chase Utley on B-Ref and in the same exact format they keep a table for rewards right alongside each season and note who placed where on the MVP ballots down to, what, 30 or something like that? I think it's cool to see that in his prime the writers considered him somewhere between the 7th and 14th best player in the league. Or even more esoterically, someone more famous for a specific accomplishment than a full career like Roger Maris, you can see the only time he got MVP votes other than the two years he won it he placed 25th.

At a glance I think that stuff is a fun thing to think about and keep in mind when considering a player's legacy when looking at a page like Rajon Rondo's and seeing he placed 10th on the ballot in 2010-11. That's my kind of wonky.

^^ That happens every year. Top 5 MVP finishes is absolutely a thing. Do people REMEMBER it? No, probably not. Doesn't mean it's not a THING. All I'm saying is dude is behind the big 3 MVP frontrunners.

Stop being weird, dude.

It’s a fluid thing, a lot of the talking heads on tv have Derozan 1 or 2 right now.

Top 5 MVP finishes is a thing for certain players when people want to prop them up and dismiss for others.

PG was 3rd in MVP voting but people act like that didn’t happen. Westbrook was top 5 four years straight but now people try to act like he won on some fluke shit.

You’re the one being weird as always when you’re called on your bs lol

but you can tell he didnt expect it because nobody hes played with was finding him in those situations.

hes gonna learn to play with his head/hands up at all times with harden.

>I don't think any of those dudes are really in their prime.
>Which is crazy to think about.

Id say theyre primed next year if they put a couple more pieces to make a run for a playoff spot.

Giddey's confidence paired with Shai. Everyone else on the roster has such limited upside though (or is years away) -- especially at 3-5.

Then i wonder if the two of them can play together long term.

people are trying to say similar stuff about Donovan. Jayson Taytom is a few months older than SGA and people are asking why he hasn't won yet.

so either dude is milking this...or he didnt stay in playing shape in the downtime and his body is already having trouble with the 'ramping up' conditioning process.

nets fans said harden was faking an injury (prolly was lol) but apparently they dont care about this dude completely sitting out games with alleged mental health and back issues.

thats what made all those 'who won the trade takes' so goofy.

its like people based their whole argument on some metaverse ben simmons and not the actual ben simmons.

people assume hes just scared of playing in front of the philly crowd. this dude might be scared to play period. i mean...he was so inside his own head that he just wouldnt shoot *at all* in 4th quarters (not even drive to the cup).

That duo? Man, that PNR is brutal.
Adams is such a large force out there, by the time you get

Donovan is getting beat up on Bulls twitter for leaving Vucevic in.
And I agree. He should have had Tristan Thompson playing.
The Bulls made their comeback with him in the game.

continues to be defensively inept, as well as all the other offensive
Bulls players.

He doesn’t even attempt to play defense. When you’ve been in the league this long,
and to still be a huge defensive liability, speaks volumes.

Just to think this team could have picked up Whiteside during the summer
for the veteran’s minimum I believe, but they go and get a has been in
Tristan Thompson. He had great rebounding ability, but is slow as hell
now with knees almost shot. Dude is only 30 at that.

What 30 year old Champion big man with great rebounding ability gets passed
around if he isn’t close to being shot?

It was Vucevic last season. Now it’s Tristan Thompson this season.....another
gamble move that will not pay off.

Derozan is both a blessing and a Curse....We don’t have one single
2 way player on this team.

That record is fool’s gold. These dudes don’t play an ounce of defense

Paul out again, for the rest of the regular season, with an injury. He just doesn't last full seasons anymore. Suns now on a losing streak for the first time in months. They win the Finals if Paul doesn't completely run out of steam at the end of the Playoffs last year. Probably be the same thing this year after he returns.

The suggestion that Lowry could give you that either last year or this year is pretty wild, imo. It's not CP3's fault that Phoenix doesn't have anyone that can stop Giannis.

that's the only thing I dislike about that team. Philly basically traded Seth for James Hardees on offense. Not giving up Thybulle is huge. It will sting that they don't have Drummond as a backup big, but the Nets needed him more IMO.

All of a sudden Philly up there with the real top teams in the league for real.

Yes, I'm mad. Let's move on.

And this team is trash.

This season is a Laker haters wet dream. I can’t even be mad at the pile on.

The only downside to this may be the fact that a lot of us currently hate this piece of shit team more than you do.

Even Monk, since we’ll have to overpay to get him back.

But this needs to be a fucking fire sale, and don’t get greedy.

He needs to improve his shooting, but to me he is an attacking, lead the second unit scorer/facilitator
