If you watch the games, he is playing really badly. His accuracy, timing and ability to read a defense are all in shambles.

The line is not good but mostly teams know you can just blitz him every play and he will fall apart.

Do not understand how he has regressed so badly.

Win or lose against this awful Steelers squad, they're not winning anything meaningful with Lamar playing like this.

Game ends on another bad pass.

For the record, I really like Lamar Jackson.

But right now he is a bad quarterback and that contract is looking scary if he doesn't figure things out ASAP

They got Andrews, Lamar is the featured back and the QB, and that's it.

They will win 11 games and a playoff game or two, Harbaugh don't give a fuck, he got his SB ring.

playing on an elite level every single week is impossible.

calling the QB of the team that was the 1 seed in the AFC in December terrible is just an emotional overreaction.

Please watch the games, then comment.

It's shocking actually. I am saying this as a fan.

He has thrown 12 interceptions since week 6. He had a brutal game against the Browns

It is bad quarterbacking. Swear to you I am not making this up and have no agenda against Jackson. He is holding the ball, making terrible reads, inaccurate, literally running into sacks. Hesitant to throw deep, cant hit the hot reads when they blitz and so teams blitz more. Even his release looks shaky.

12 picks in the last six games.

he even admitted, last week, that he was terrible reads/throws. They highlighted several plays from today’s game where he had a man open, by virtue of the play design, yet made a bad throw to a different receiver. And the 2 point conversion failure was on him. I don’t think he is terrible, but he’s playing terrible, right now.

Yes, please note that "right now" is the key part of the OP

Lamar Jackson has proven that he is capable of being a great QB in the NFL. But right now, he is playing badly, really badly.

Over the second half of this season he has looked like a replacement player.

I think I mostly misread your intention. i have spent many days arguing with people who shit on Lamar as a QB so i went into defense mode.

yeah, he's been bad recently. it's also extremely tough to be a great QB in the NFL when you have an extremely shitty run game. ill cop pleas for him due to the injuries and the terrible O-line he has.

Half his passes are weird sidearms or nonchalant throws like he is in the backyard tossing a frisbee.

He’s always had the side arm throw.

IMO the biggest issue is simply not throwing the ball to the right guy under pressure.

Dude has stopped throwing the deep ball to Brown.

He is under pressure because he gets relentlessly blitzed.

Teams blitz him because he suddenly cant/won't hit the hot route.

The line is definitely not good but no one can block overload blitzes all day

they are baiting the shit out of him this year.

but the main reason he is struggling is because this Ravens team is being held together with wood glue and scotch tape after all those injuries.

mfers want to claim Lamar has fallen off when he's handing the ball of to Davonta Freeman running behind Villanueva.

dudes an MVP. nobody wins in the NFL when your line and RBs get completely decimated and he is keeping them in games.

Flat out disagree. He is playing very poorly. I have no axe to grind here at all, I like dude and I like Baltimore…but he is making bad throws, bad reads, bad pocket presence.

Which is noteworthy BECAUSE HE HAS BEEN GOOD for a long time

a bit of a hot take but makes for good discussion.

don’t trip like you didnt want this energy.

I confirmed that he isn’t playing well lately but he isn’t terrible.. just not making plays we used to see him make last year.

Thing is.. even with his erratic play they are usually in position to win at the end of the 4th quarter and its usually because Lamar turns it on.

I’m glad they lost tho.. lol.

and his worst games are against division rivals.

I don’t buy that he doesn’t have other weapons besides the TE. Dude is just not seeing the field and he is waiting too long to take off and run.

also.. the more he plays the more teams will figure out his weaknesses and tendencies.

All that being said.. its really not that surprising he looks like shit against division rivals who play him twice a year.

Steelers have always given LJ fits too..

He has a talented receiving corp now in Hollywood, Bateman, Watkins,
and Andrews, and he still can’t put it on the numbers or make those
back shoulder/corner route throws. If it is not a straight up the middle or
some dip and dunk throw, he doesn’t have the ability to execute the
play.

And he has a low football IQ. Put Watson on that team and they would be
clicking on all cylinders.

That’s just the truth.

Or like you can just get away with being a perennial winner with a low football IQ and unable to make pinpoint throws.

This is the most effort I’ll put into your dumbass post

Not one of those receivers would be a #1 on another NFL team right today.

He makes plays nobody can make but if he makes a bad throw (who doesn’t?) he’s a football idiot???

I have zero loyalty to Baltimore or Lamar but I’ve turned into a zealot arguing with dipshits about him because the slander is bullshit

I said he has a talented receiving corp. That receiving group has plenty of talent to excel. He just makes bullshit ass throws, like side and curve ball throws on simple
plays. He can’t make a pinpoint corner route throw while under pressure to save
his life.

Wanting to be a passer or claiming to be a passer is one thing, reality is another.
This is a guy who went 17 straight games throwing for 250 yards or less, and his
numbers are trending downward.

He is a great athlete, and a good guy, but he is an average passer at best, and even
his running is regressing...and will continue to regress as the hits wear down his body.

Since he is not a pure pocket passer, once his running and athleticism fades,
and if he doesn’t learn how to adapt somehow, he will continue to decline as a QB.

Send his ass to Andy, because he needs a whole lot of fixing.

Like I said, he is good dude, but his QB skills are lacking.

Tua will be better( IF HE CAN STAY HEALTHY) ..Yeah, I said it god damn it.

…cant help but feel that no one wants to downtalk a young black quarterback who made so many (white) doubters eat their words when he got to the league.

I can understand it. I would rather be shouting his praises.

But it's gonna get pretty ridiculous if we are all sitting here denying what is happening in front of our eyes.

Doing that with Cam Newton in recent yearsdidn't suddenly make him good again, it just made people look dumb.

Lamar has been playing really poorly. The team has it's holes but the idea that he is being sabotaged by a bunch of bums is just false.

Lamar Jackson is both the Ravens best player and their biggest problem right now (Marlon Humphrey getting hurt this game is maybe up there now)

if it keeps getting worse and he looks bad next year then yes.. that discussion can be had but not right now.

People are always quick to shit on a Black QB after a few bad games.

Didn’t Lamar break the record for completion percentage (85%) while throwing for over 400 yards in a game this season?

And you are correct, he did break the record. how are you supposed to do this if you are terrible inaccurate??

this year he finally overcame them and played great. really looking forward to Monday night! but he was 0-4 going into this year.

1-4 record, sacked 14 times, rating of 84. only 200 yards a game.

and he drastically improved those numbers in the previous game. they embarrassed him the first 4.

In response to Reply # 0

But football dudes can’t behave like basketball dudes. It isn’t ALWAYS about the bag. When you’re being beat up like that, when you’ve got coaches who care about you, a line that blocks for you, a city that adores you…it isn’t just “get paid”

So now Deshaun’s got Lamar fucked up. Because he’s gonna force his way to a dogshit situation, since compared to Baltimore almost every team in the league is a dogshit situation, and for what? When is rich rich enough? In Baltimore he would have always been behind a good O-line , competing for playoff spots, in prime time games. You want a little more money to go to Carolina or Tennessee? Go ahead dude. You’ll be hurt even more often, go through 2 or so more coaches before you retire, and play for wavering fan bases.

For the record, I think he was wise not to play if he is still hurt!

I just feel like we already saw his best, and it was absolutely incredible, but over the last two season, when he actually played, he has been bad
