Kiffin took over Ole Miss with low expectations after probation and got a nice 10 win season (could be 11)

you *can* win 9-10 games at Ole Miss, but every time they've won 9 or more games (6 times in the last 18 years), they beat LSU or Alabama

that is not the kind of job you wait for if you've already built up a reputation at another P5 school

I'm just glad I mostly tapped out in the Riley era, I only know Martinez' name 'cause I love his heart and Cam Taylor-Britt 'cause they say he'll be drafted and possibly the next Amukamara-like Nebraska grad at DB but otherwise I don't know any of these kids

I was kinda shocked that the Austin Allen kid at TE set the single season marks for receptions and yards at TE in this game, I could've sworn Matt Herian would've had those numbers even with his terrible injury luck.

As for Frost...I just feel like it doesn't make any sense to bail on a coach YET AGAIN (we're second in dead money with absolutely nothing to show for it) and this year just felt like a culmination of a lot of cursed bullshit. Play calling and player confidence are definitely on him and his staff, but has there ever been a team as good as this one lose as many games as they did?

Seriously, this is the best three win team ever by a considerable margin, right? We essentially had a point differential of zero for the season and didn't lose a single game by more than 9 points... Which feels like a stupid stat to be proud of, but to me it also says a new staff and maybe just kicking rocks on Martinez might make for a very different looking football team?

They're just in such a weird position, and it doesn't help that the fans who are still deeply invested in this program are so fatalistic at this point, if I played for this school I wouldn't feel all that motivated to play for these kids and boosters.

they'll never play in primetime but 330 would certainly be a fair compromise but they won't because #tradition

in 2006 they moved it up to 330 because it was 1 vs 2. i thought that was going to establish a precedent of flexibility depending on circumstances but apparently not.

Pirates came out with a lot of energy and led after the first quarter

Ridder hit some nice passes after that, and their defense is just smothering ECU -- their d-line and secondary do not look like any other Group of Five team

Definitely some missed opportunities for us, and that interception was a terrible play call, terrible execution. Also the dropped interception was bad, that would have saved three points off the board along with momentum the other way.

Also, the Fox Sports coverage continues to be terrible - lack of obvious instant replays, bad camera angles, and additional commercial breaks is a tough watch.
