D'Ernest Johnson was the star of the show. He ran through that Donkeys defense with authority, in a way that the 2 GOATs (Chubb and Hunt) don't... an embarrassment of riches at that position. Even Demetric Felton is actually good for change of pace, but D'Ernest (a great story) really surprised.
As for Keenum. He did his job. What I like about him is that he gets rid of the ball and actually runs a few quicker pass plays than the 10,000 year ones that they have with Baker under center. Hit some key passes for huge first down yardage (shout out to Julius Landry who I hope is OK). He was a playoff QB for the Vikings last I remember. They just ran into the GOATed Eagles.
A lot of people are down on OBJ. He's playing hurt. He caught 2 very critical passes on a drive the Browns desperately needed. I hate to see this not working out; his best years were clearly on the Giants, but what I don't want to see is him having a "redemption year" with Boody. With Mahomes might be OK, though Browns fans may not like it.
Otherwise, the game was what you expected it to be with a 17-14 score. A lot of drama. But a win. After the bullshit the Browns have seen already this season, it was needed. (Fuck that Chargers game, and they were trying to do it again here.)
And now, Tin Foil Durag Time:
I am sick and tired of NFL officiating as it pertains to holding.
Myles Garrett gets held with no calls several times again. In the Donkeys game it was incredibly egregious.
I've been told there's a rule that says "if you use the rip move to move the lineman around, it's not holding". That sounds like the "Tuck Rule" bullshit, i.e. it's a rule that shouldn't exist.
This has to have been a consequence of watching the real GOAT (Montana) get his shit kicked in by the Smurfs back in the day. If not that, at least since the ascension of Jevon Kearse.
This has intensified since Operation: BradyGOAT -- whatever team he's on, his linemen hold like shit (now it's Wirfs, and whoever #78 is on that team, I'm not Googling). Nate Solder did that shit for years on the Cheatriots. He goes to the Giants and that motherfucker gets called for every other penalty on the line.
As for Myles, he came into the league talking about how he wants to sack Boody the most. He probably could do that to every QB. As I type, he's getting randomly tested for PEDs. I think the league has it out for the guy.
He should be getting Jerome Brown and Reggie White levels of sacks and pressures but he has two people up his ass on every down and it's tolerated. The shit in the Donkeys game had a ref right there in front of it all, holding that flag.
Last year, COVID slowed him down. He's easily as good as those guys, and better than his counterparts (Mugfucker U Shaq and Jay PeePee) on the Bandwagoneers. Only Aaron Donald is better IMO, right today.
Meanwhile that 44-year old elephant in the room with a history of junk science business built on his cult of personality gets nothing because RINGZZZZZZZZ.
Y'all got your fingers in your ears and LALALALALA-ing through it all, but this is some serious bullshit.
Onward to the Steelers. A lot of people are worried about Case Keenum against them. I'm not worried too much about the Steelers offense, as much as I am the Steelers defense. TJ Watt in particular is going to be a pain in the ass.
Expect a repeat of the Steelers/Seahawks game on Halloween as far as caliber of football playing is concerned. I don't know who's going to win that one. Yes, I'm mad. Let's move on.
