Bulls need to move up to the top 4, or the pick goes to the Magic.
If we lose this pick, it will be more moonwalking to the basement
of the league.

Outside of LaVine and Vucevic, I don't expect to see the same roster this fall.
If we're going to lure someone in 2022 free agency, we'll need to make the playoffs.

Bam.

You see how easy that was?

Management focked up. They mortgaged the Bulls’ future to chase
a stupid ass play-in tourney, knowing the team lacked the ability
to compete beyond that.

This draft will produce a lot of generational talent, and we are going
to miss out on getting a future superstar....all for a bum ass, aging center.
I know you don’t keep up with college ball, so you’re not aware
of the insane talent that will be coming out.

We lose a top ten focking pick!!

There is shit about our roster that says championship in the next 5
years.....

to get creative.

they knew there was a good chance they were giving up this type of pick when the trade happened. with zach, vuc and a coach with some credibility we may actually be able to get a free agent to pick up the phone.

i'm not really into this get the 7/8th pick and rebuild for eternity thing we've been doing since derrick. and it's not like we've been killing it with the mid/late lottery pick. yeah i don't watch college ball but i know enough to understand there it's a crapshoot outside of the top 3-4 picks.

Mock drafts list these players at 7-9.

7. Keon Johnson (Tennessee)
8. Franz Wagner (Michigan)
9. Jalen Johnson (Duke)

You think LaVine and any one of these players are catapulting the Bulls to a better record?

Possible generational talent.

James Bouknight
(Could fall to 8) Scotty Barnes- could be the next pippen..and he is from FSU
same as Terrance Mann and Patrick Williams...
Moses Moody - one of the best freshman in college last year.
Ayo Dosunmu - Dwayne Wade/ Jimmy Butler type player...

That’s the beauty of the draft, the opportunity to get an enormously
talented player.

Orlando is rebuilding just like we are, and they dumped this so called great center
for a first round pick....so yeah that 8th pick is way better.

Stop making excuses for how management focked us in their first season
in charge....didn’t take them long.

Vuc is a very safe pick to produce, and he’ll easily produce more than what any of those dudes will next year and the year after. That said, I do think it’s fair to be concerned that LaVine and Vuc is an upside-7-seed-at-most kind of core, because neither guy is good on defense, and Vuc would be a defensive liability come playoffs when switching is the name of the game against most of the better teams.

So it all depends. If their goal is to win more in the next 1-2 years, I think Vuc is easily the better choice. But if their goal is to ultimately return to true contention? … yeah, I don’t know what the answer is, other than straight up blow it up. Or hope for some *serious* talent development from the staff and roster.

Karnisovas has said as much to the media.

I think the aggressive move to trade for Vucevic was to show LaVine (a player they want to resign) that they're serious about making the Bulls relevant again and changing the culture. Vucevic is at the tail end of his prime, LaVine is arguably there now. Those guys aren't gonna wait for a lottery pick to figure it out. The front office has chosen their core and they want to compete now.

Bulls fans have been conditioned (me included) to live and die by the draft.
What I'm learning is that depending on luck is not a plan.

I definitely get signing Vuc to convince LaVine to resign. I'm... less convinced that they make a contention-level core together in terms of both style of offense and lack of defense, but hey, I think Billy's a hell of a coach. Having a strong coach that can figure out how to develop young players and build schemes around existing talent is a good start.

I can’t imagine anyone who thinks that? Is there a person in this draft as good as KD at Texas? You still wanna pick the best you can of who’s available, though. There was a chance we could have come out of last night with #1 and #5 picks…ping pong balls didn’t fall our way, though. I still think there’s something coming with those three picks we have and I don’t expect Kemba to suit up as a Thunder.

When they drafted a guy who’s absolutely another 2-3 years away from showing his potential, that’s them telling the fans “hey, we’re going for the home run swing in 2025, we’re not content to languish around the 6-8 seed anymore.” I respect the bravado. (And I love Poku. Once he learns how to play basketball and not just be a ball of raw talent, he’s gonna be even more fun to watch than he is now.)

not bad. Wish it were #2 or #1 so there isn't any uncertainty.
Really wanted Cade.
But it could be Mobley (which would be cool)
or Green. Means that "Greenland" might end up being a thing and that the Cavs get a "Get Out Of Jail Free" card for the KPJ trade.

Either way it ensures a good player coming to the Cavs.

I think Suggs goes to Toronto, which would be dope.

Yes, I'm mad. Let's move on.

I’d say 85% likely it’s Green, 15% likely it’s Barnes. If you think you can get Barnes to be even an NBA average shooter, then he *could* have higher upside than Green. I think that’s a big dice roll, personally, but I’ve seen more than one person who thinks Barnes is a #3 type guy.

But considering if you took Ben Simmons and had him shoot NBA average percentages from the 3PT and FT line, he’d be a stone cold certified All-Star, it’s easy to see why a team would get seduced by Barnes if they think he could one day shoot at the NBA average.

He didn't fit the culture and everything Weaver has done up to this point has been about reestablishing a culture there while adding talent at the same time.

Clearly they didn't value Wood from that point of view versus what they did instead which was draft Isaiah Stewart and sign Jerami Grant.

I'm fine with what they did instead.

Not when you consider the position the Pistons were in. They didn't have much leverage. The rest of the league was fairly skeptical too considering what the Rockets got Wood for. So the options were limited.

Blake was still on the roster and Weaver had already made his mind up that he wanted Jerami Grant to run with this young core and not Wood. I don't blame Weaver AT ALL for that cause he knew Grant and didn't know Wood at all. If I'm a GM coming in I'm betting on the guy I know and trust.

That's also a little too much talent for a tank. Granted Wood ended up on the team that got the second pick and could have just as easily gotten the first.

I was fine with it right when it happened and am really fine with it now because Stewart fits better with this group than Wood would have. He would have wanted to be the #1 option. Which is fine. He can do that in Houston.

It's a win win.

It will work itself out. It's never a problem to have that much young talent together no matter how impatient the rest of the league is and fans are. The Pistons aren't in the position to be the Lakers, Brooklyn or Miami. They have to be shrewd and build this. Troy has shown to be a great GM so far and as long as ownership leaves him the fuck alone this should grow naturally into something really great.

They have the right coach for now in Casey. We'll see in a few years if it works once the team matures.

I think in the long run Killian will be traded and Sekou will be as well.

The real core here is Cade, Bey and Stewart and you fill the rest out with trades and a nice FA signing or two. So realistically it will take about 2 to 3 years to come together.

In the meantime Grant is still a nice piece and will only be 29/30 at the time.

"all those guys will be due for new contracts before they develop into what people THINK they will be"

That's an odd point, considering that's a dilemma faced by any young team, and the fact that teams are nearly always in some state of flux.

in today's NBA.

Despite your crying there's a reason the Lakers traded their "young core" for Anthony Davis and they got a ring out of it.

Steph Curry's ankles are the only reason they were able to build that team they way they did and before that came together they tried to trade Curry AND Klay for CP3 but the trade fell through.

You’re more terrified of admitting you’re wrong and made a mistake than Ben Simmons taking a jump shot.

That’s sad.

"Crying"?

You mean... Liking players, wanting to see them grow with the feanchise, being bummed that they had to go, seeing potential issues down the line (coughinjuriescough) and understanding why?

Please. Take a break from being a buffoon some time.

>there's a reason the Lakers traded their
>"young core" for Anthony Davis and they got a ring out of it.

No shit. I'm still waiting on an answer to my very simple question.

How did the Lakers get Anthony Davis, exactly?

Oh yeah: you just said it.

It's weird, because it completely undermines whatever point you thought you were making.

>Steph Curry's ankles are the only reason they were able to
>build that team they way they did and before that came
>together they tried to trade Curry AND Klay for CP3 but the
>trade fell through.

Not sure what that has to do with anything I said.
