If you think K had anything to do with this, you're a fucking moron. And if you think we're ducking a team that was only a 2.5 point favorite, that barely beat Pitt two weeks ago, when Duke literally played their best basketball of the season yesterday, then you're a fucking moron.
So, you know. If you're trolling, I get it. Party on the season ending unceremoniously for a team that's traditionally wildly successful, party on the kids who fought hard to get back on the bubble only to have it sucked away.

A really, really shitty end to an up-and-down season. Duke was *rolling* yesterday, and Mark Williams had really come alive. If we'd beat FSU, we'd have been in the tournament. Now we can't play any postseason ball at all. Really, really shitty.

First off, why do a mandatory quarantine before the NCAA Tournament? Allow an extra week between conference tourneys and the Big Dance.
Then, you've got a bubble where everyone inside has been quarantining, so everyone should be COVID-free. Chances of someone testing positive within the Dance bubble certainly aren't zero, but they'd be damn close.
Like, the NBA showed the model. The NCAA is just trying to have things both ways (per usual!), and it seems fairly certain that there will be forfeitures.

It was neck-and-neck between a few guys. I thought Carlik Jones was in the lead for beating Duke singlehandedly in overtime on national TV the week before voting... but then Moses Wright beat Duke singlehandedly in overtime of national TV *right* before voting. Not a surprise Carlik came in second, tbh.
8 dudes got votes for POY, lol. Can't recall the last time that happened. Even Alvarado got a couple of POY votes. A lot of parity this season-- whoever won was always going to come down to the end. (I like to imagine the world in which Duke wins both of those overtime games and Matt Hurt wins POY... sigh. What a season.)

this is a senior led team that took a little too long to gel for comfort.
but they have gelled, and they defend. while Alvarado/Devoe/Usher/Wright isnt Lethal Weapon 4 or anything, but thats either a nice mix of vets/talent/production/athleticism. alvarado turned out to be a hell of a signing. love those NY pgs.
and yes, if they play it, and we win it counts. but to win with a forfeit...meh. id almost rather they shut it down and go home to a bubble, but we aint winning a national title. we CAN win the ACC tho, and unlike the Big 10 this is THE conference championship.

So two points here: 1) yeah, see my above posts on people who doubted this 2) this is something to strongly consider with teams like Virginia and Georgia Tech, both of whom have had positive COVID tests on the team within the last few days.
