man, I was PISSED that the Cavs literally fumbled away a GUILE against the Pacers to half the winning streak. and Garland got hurt during the game. Sexton had 30pts, >10< assists, and a grillion turnovers.
Baron Davis: forever a Cavs legend in my mind, but dude...
The Dan Gilbert stuff is noise in 2021. he don't care, the Cavs don't care, and I suspect this is all folks sticking up for Drummond who has been languishing in inactivity for a couple of weeks now.
I'm torn. In general, I stick up for the players.
I care less about the business than I do the on-court product, which, to be fair, I have enjoyed more with the Sexland + Allen and Co. lineup. Perhaps even more than 2010-14 even though I liked Kyrie and TT a whole bunch. this team looks lost because it's young and trying to find its way in the NBA, rather than being a mismatch of players who don't coexist well (Kyrie + Dion, all the damn forwards not named TT and Varejao, and a bench from hell).
But this is complicated by two things: it wasn't that Drummond wasn't playing well, because on the Cavs, that doesn't get you demoted at all (shout out to Taurean Prince and Cedi Osman). It's because he was actively screwing the flow of offense and playing below his ability relative to earlier in the season. It actually reminds me a bit of Wentz with the Eagles last season in the NFL.
Contrast to Kevin Porter Jr. allegedly a DISASTER off the court. On the court, pure GOLD. The inverse of Drummond. God DAMN I'm mad he was let go for damn near LITERAL dildos just because of that. But...it is a business, and you gotta be professional.
Trade talks: Now that the Blake buyout is done, and Brooklyn has their 2nd big, the market for Drummond narrows slightly. Still there's some interest. Of all teams, the Bulls make the most sense.
Otto Porter for Drummond swap is the trade most mentioned. If they want to throw some dildos in that trade, I'm good. It'd basically be a Deng sequel.
I really don't care where Drummond goes, even if it's buyout to one of the LA teams, Miami, or whoever else. If the Cavs get anything decent in return, that would be ideal. Expecting dildos tbh.
The Cavs absolutely POSITIVELY need a veteran backup PG. Someone like Delly, who I don't think will be playing at all this season. Satoransky's name has been mentioned in the Bulls talks. It might mean Cedi gets swapped, but in that case I'm good if that is the price. Loss of Cedi memes < functional basketball.
complete FOH for anyone trying to take Nance off the roster though. that dude should be a Cav for life.
As for the rest of the season, really hope to see Kevin Love and Nance back in the lineup ASAP.
Cavs will probably get high 20s of wins at the current pace, which is ahead of expectations; would be about 32 in a regular season (which is still ahead of schedule). More than 19, so I won't be mad. Yes, I'm mad. Let's move on.
