SVG buried him, on the bench and he wants out. Also...PJ Tucker could be on the move, soon. Bobby Marks was saying we could possible see some movement, tomorrow...not really fireworks, but something.

But then again it's wildly stupid to bury him on the bench on a young team that needs vet leadership.

Pels have to be one of the biggest disappointments so far right? I mean at least the Heat have the fact Jimmy was out for 10 games and they have the Finals hangover.

He is close to being completely washed. He has been known for his three point
shooting, but if that isn’t working, he doesn’t provide anything else.

He is shooting 29 pct from 3! And 33 pct from the field. And he is in his
last year of a 13 mil per contract.

There are rumors of him reuniting with Doc. But that would be a sentimental move,
because philly already has several guys who can hit the 3, and do other things that Reddick can’t ( defense and get to the paint).

Reddick is simply a fading specialist at this point in his career...going to a contender for
bench rotation is the only thing that would make sense.

But the Pelicans definitely need to move on from him for picks or younger pieces.

the bigs are so strong and sturdy that they don't look like they're getting fouled. he's small and good at creating and selling contact and probably gets the benefit of the doubt bc nearly everyone fouling him has at least a few inches and a few dozen pounds on him

the calls where the defender is behind him and he randomly pulls up and jumps backwards into the defender are awful and shouldn't be rewarded. i think most of the rest are legit but i've been half watching this game so i could be wrong. if defenders don't want him to create contact then they shouldn't jump 3 feet in the air when he pump fakes 28 feet from the basket

i dont even know what the logic is behind having that few fans in the building. what is there to gain from that? might as well do the responsible thing and just not have any fans at all.

will do anything about this since I'm certain the owners are losing money as they are heavily relying on TV revenue with the lack of ticket sales.

I imagine the league will probably makes an example of the two that were barking at LeBron since that will lessen the chance folks will question why they were courtside to begin with.

Silver gave an interview around the holidays about slowly allowing fans back in and I believe he mentioned fans being like 60 feet away. This is pretty irresponsible for a league trying to get their shit together.

We got one. Thaddeus has been immense, absolutely my favorite player
on the Bulls. He gets the offense going with his passing

And give Lauri that new contract now. He is balling.

Build around:’

Thaddeus, Coby, Lauri, and Williams. Maybe keep Carter, but we got the Porzingis like
kid overseas, who will be here next year.

Let Porter walk(His huge expiring contract is not tradable), and trade Lavine to to get some serious pieces. We need a two way 2 guard with a good IQ, and doesn’t do stupid shit in the offense like Lavine. Still pissed that he blew that Portland game. And his defense is horrid.

There are huge trade rumors regarding Lavine with the Knicks. The Knicks need a
a serious scoring 2 guard, who can get them buckets in late games, and they have been
monitoring Lavine. Knicks don’t really have shit of interest except for draft picks and IQ. We don’t need a PG , and Barrett is okay at best, so none of that is attractive. I can’t see a Knicks trade happening.

Bulls were freaking stupid for not taking part in that Harden deal. Could have gotten Levert from Houston, but Indiana jumped in and now he is a rival.

Anyway, we have a good foundation, and just need to keep building.

Lowry is 34. FVV is 26.

Give the backcourt to FVV and Powell. Trade Lowry to a contender for picks
Or younger players.

Time for FVV to run the point exclusively.

And he disappeared in the bubble. Lowry is an old piece who still has
something left, which is why they should look to get something for him.
Not wait until he becomes shot

Siakam has been up and down, and has been exposed. Possibly move
away from him to make room for Boucher. He might be better.

They need a center and a great 2 guard badly. See if they can
Bring in Drummond now that he is surplus with Allen in Cleveland.
Send Siakam over for Drummond, and make a trade for Kevin Porter
Jr, who has superstar shooting guard potential.

FVV/Porter Jr/OG/ Boucher/ Drummond.

This current Toronto team ain’t it.

The NBA is about small ball, in crunchtime the Lakers got their lineup of death with AD at the 5 and Lebron at the 4 and nobody can matchup with that.

In response to Reply # 45

he does stat pad a lot, which I don't believe he would do on a contender. the problem with Drummond of which many Detroit sports fans have reminded us Cavs fans is two fold: the aforementioned stat padding and trying to do too much (dribbling the ball, everything but just slamming the fucking ball into the hoop when he's there to do it, even rookie guards do that).

take those two things away and he can bang with any decent NBA team looking to make an impact. you'll get the rebounds, and if your offense is smart enough (AND HE'S WILLING)...you'll get the scoring.

the obvious destination is the Nets, where he would be much better than Jordan... IMO who IS a dinosaur. the defensive benefit would be worth it.

his best shot would be in a "Dwight" like role (as seen on the Lakers) but he doesn't come at a "Dwight" price.

Yes, I'm mad. Let's move on.

Questionable officiating. But the Nets end the clippers winning streak.
But no Pat Bev to really defend Kyrie who was the difference.

Ty has to trade Lou. His lack of defense is terrible.

See if he can trade Lou and picks for Lowry or go after DRose,
but that has to be solved because Lou has regressed.

Yeah Nets won but god does Kyrie Gun....it was hitting, but
that isn’t a recipe for success and they still gave up 125.

Wiseman, Paschall, and Looney all out, and the Warriors still beat the brakes off of the Mavs. Oubre Jr., who's been getting a lot of flak locally as of late, comes up huge with 40.

is nba media gonna reassess their anointment of luka or just bitch about how he needs more help?

i mean...i can see not taking the next step in your evolution as great player or underperforming compared to the expectations. but missing a 10 team playoff field entirely?

if you are who they say you are then you gotta make something happen capn.

they got 1 creator in Luka, zero people that can play defense, and Carlisle seems perfectly content to sit there on his hands.

what you see is what you get

after what i saw tonight i wouldnt be mad at him if he got a minor injury and cadillac'd it like steph to sit out the rest of the year.

After they did damage in the bubble until Porzingis got hurt? Porzingis
avg 30 a game in the bubble.

Luka’s wack because he can’t shoot worth shit and he is slow as fock. And he is
a defensive liability. He can’t stop shit because he lacks athleticism, same problem
with Jokic.( no defense) .

Players have simply adjusted to his game and he is having a hard time getting
separation.

Bird played defense and Boston knocked people on their asses.

A lot of these European players get exposed after awhile...Even Dirk got exposed
for his lack of defense when he played.

Wiggins put the clamps on Luka. He wanted no part of it and gave up.
Bird wanted to be guarded by the blackest Zulu on earth.

expectations. fuck it. talk yo shit, player.

some games this year he's been the only bench dude doing work.

(although i've liked how paschall, wannamaker, toscano-anderson, baze an nem have developed generally over the season).

i didn't watch the mavs game. were they just that bad?

b/c dubs not named steph looked trash the game before that.

if oubre can get out of his own head and consistently knock down open 3s (he'll get them if steph is on the court), this team can be good.

and dray got to at LEAST score 11pts a game. he the most frustrating one for me. dog. you GOTSTA develop a shot. he could put up 20 per game if he was just a decent shooter. but they can't have 2 or 3 dudes on the court at once that you can leave wide open.

but the defense is so necessary. and what's dope is that he's creating a feedback loop out of it. he's feeling good about impacting the game and having it noticed. and he's getting props for it (from teammates, coaches, media, fans), and that's hyping him to be even better at it.

and he knocking down shots and him and paschall are the euro (step) twins.

I get it you’re an elite athlete and you get pulled from a game your team loses, but I respect that the protocol is being followed with no exceptions being made. The all star game is a separate issue.

All I know is bron is justifiably upset about the AS game, and if we’re gonna conflate the issues— him and the Lakers have been grown and responsible — so far nothing from the Lakers squad and camp.

also their main bench scorer (paschall) is out. but everybody dealing w/ something.

hard to beat an nba team back to back. like the dubs got spanked against portland and came back the 2nd game. props to the mavs.

I might have to give it up. he actually has done something no NBA player might ever do again.

If memory serves me correct, he had a back injury early last season that set him back a ton. He lost a lot of the quickness and ability to penetrate, which is the crux of his game. He was never a great outside shooter and was pretty much a subpar defender from what I saw even before he was injured.

Kemba was great for them, but I think that’s the only all star caliber player they’ve drafted, despite having a ton of lottery picks since the franchise came back in like..04?

Ball looks like a potential franchise player with a higher ceiling than Kemba.

Ball is good. But I guess sexy sells. No one is paying attention to how well Edwards
is playing in Minnesota. He is shooting 42 percent from 3 ( vs Ball’s 33 pct) and avg 17pts a game in his last 7 games.

And Haliburton is a god damn beast for the Kings. As you know, I wanted him for the
Bulls from Jump. He has been even more impressive. And if the Kings make the PO..shiit

And Wiseman was rocking before the injury, and he should be back soon.

Ball is good, no doubt. ...but he should have been number 1? Not clear cut.
He might not even win rookie of the year.

All of them better be glad that IQ and Maxey haven’t been given greenlights....those dudes are elite scorers and can drop 30/40 just like that.

All in all, these rookies have not disappointed.

And your Cole Anthony prediction has been way off..My man is doing his thing
in Orlando , game winning shots and everything. Don’t let that NC hate get to you.

He’s bottom 20 in the league in plus minus, bottom 20 in the league in VORP, bottom six in the league in offensive win shares.

That’s not a prediction, those are just his numbers. Same thing I cited before, when you said I was predicting something about him— I was just citing his numbers to date then, and these are his numbers now.

If you think a guy with those numbers is doing well, then that’s your take. There are plenty of UNC guys I like. He just isn’t currently one of them, because his numbers are fairly indisputably bad.

You know damn well you were taking a shot at him.

He has impressed as a rookie PG, and was thrown into the fire

He looks the part and has , so far, proven the critics wrong.

If citing his numbers implies anything, then that’s you drawing those implications. I’m merely making note of the reality of his current statistics. You thought that I was making an agenda when I cited his stats the first time, and you still think I am. But his numbers are his numbers. Citing them doesn’t an agenda make.

Cam Reddish’s numbers are similar to Cole’s in many categories. He has the same BPM. Slightly better VORP or OWS, but worse 3PT shooting. Now, by citing that, does that mean I have an anti-Cam agenda by saying Cole’s shooting better? Or am I just pointing out some numbers?

Morris/Beal/ Barton/ Green/ Joker.

Dozier/Harris/ Milsap/ Bol Bol/ off the bench.

That gives them an elite level Duo, surrounded with solid pieces.

Washington gets back some serious help and offense, and other
players will now get to see the ball so that they can grow.

Westbrick/ Murray/Porter Jr/Hachimuri/ Bryant( when he gets back)

everyone knows he wouldnt shoot that. he cant even make short js let alone a deep logo 3. youd have to be lance stephenson / jr smith levels of dumb to foul him there.

the warriors should have shipped his ass out the second he called durant a bitch. kd stays, and they probably win another title barring injury and the dynasty rolls on, edit so maybe it is good he did what he did

He has 4 TO and it’s only halftime. The pitbulls of Powell, FVV and LOwry

seems like certain outlets in certain markets (ny) are coming up with these trade stories solely out of their own uniformed speculation.

you don't trade a player like zach (who is not even in his prime yet) if you're the bulls. you attempt to play 500 ball this year and then lure free agents to come play with zach.

He doesn't rely on his athleticism and he's an elite shooter in every aspect with good size for the guard spot. That says longevity to me. Decision making and defense need to improve but he's already doing better at that under the tutelage of a real coach.

>The question is, what if THIS is LaVine for the next 5-8
>years?

His trajectory is still on the upswing for sure. Give him all the moneys and trust our newly capable front office to bring in better players. Guys Zach like him don't come around often so pay the man and figure out the rest.

He gives you nothing defensively, and is a TO machine, and has cost the
bulls several games in the last minute.

All Lavine does is give you points, but then gives up those points
on the defensive end. That’s him every year. He is a foregone conclusion.
Also, he doesn’t facilitate. It’s bad when a power forward ( Thaddeus) is your
best facilitator....getting others involved.

Plus, he is getting traded because he will be a FA in 2022. So he will be an expiring
contract next season, making him less attractive to trade, because teams would just
wait until his contract is up....

And they aren’t going to let him just walk like Boston did Hayward and get nothing
in return. So it is inevitable that he will be moved before next season.

Bulls badly want and need a 2-way 2-guard. Or they get a true PG and move Coby
to the 2. It’s obvious Coby is a scorer, trying to play PG. He is giving it his all, but dude
is built to score. So the bulls can’t keep two guards who aren’t really good at facilitating....in closing minutes they both go in iso mode. Other Bulls players rarely
see the ball.

Donovan wants a Paul/Shai or Paul/Booker like backcourt ...and so do I. Our backcourt
defense is atrocious. No way the Bulls keep both Lavine and White.

Fuck that dink-and-dunk artist in the NFL.

LeBron IS greatness. He can bullshit but come up with the 3 late. I think he's better than his 2011 self by miles and he's basketball OLD.

it's a crime that he didn't have the luck to rack up the rings. this is a guy that has more influence on his team's success and he just gets it fucking done with bullshit he shouldn't be allowed to do at his age.

like I remember LeBron having the brokest-ass J for a player of his caliber. even when he came back to the Cavs I used to CRINGE at him hoisting.

Shai didn’t even play.

Dort/Williams/Bazely/Hortford/Diallo was the starting lineup. Repeat
that lineup again.

Williams dropped damn near 30 points while being guarded by Lebron.

Williams is their freaking second/ third stringer. That’s how depleted OKC is at the
guard position.

This is the second straight game where the lakers needed OT against OKC.

Lakers defense was non-existent especially in the paint.

But of course the story will be some Heroic Lebron news.....

Now if it were a contender, totally different.

But this was against OKC...with some backups starting.

I’m just saying, fam. Let’s be honest here.

I remember several years ago the Bron detractors were partying off some random analytics flash in a pan stat that stated LeBron was a bad jumpshooter --- fast forward to today and he's literally one of the top long-range shooters in the game. It's insane how he can redefine his game to basically do whatever it takes to will his team to a win.

He is *the* most accomplished individual talent to ever play the game, period.

Dude ran himself into the ground in Houston during the regular season. When it came time for the playoffs, dude had nothing left in the tank. I would have to imagine one of the key reasons he wanted to go to Brooklyn is so he can take a load off in terms of how hard he'll have to exert himself to create offense.

when KD and kyrie were out recently and it was just harden, joe harris, and a bunch of rotation players that weren't hitting open 3s you could see how frustrated he was. he was doing everything, playing a ton of minutes, and his team was still losing. he looked like he was thinking, "i can't believe i'm back to this bullshit already"

and to your point re: houston harden:

now he also has to put up 30 PPG? he's playing within the system as directed by the coaching staff. what do you want him to do? is he supposed to rebel and take 35 shots/game like he did in HOU? he's easily the best passer on BKN — and one of the best in the league — and has shooters and scorers all around him. he's using his history and ability as a scorer to create open looks for his team. that's the plan. BKN is not lacking for scoring: they're still 2nd in the league in PPG (120.4) despite the recent skid. when they lose it's because they don't try on defense, not because they can't get buckets

Great game

Really thought we had that one...we’re actually winning on the road this year

and it was a getback game after POR cooked us earlier this year

Dame went the fok off in the 1st quarter

But we fought all the way back...and I think the largest lead was 8 in the 3rd

Then Melo did Melo things in the 4th

Disappointed in the lack of execution on our final possession

But I think we can take some positives from the game

That would make him NOT a pg, just a short 2. He essentially said himself that he and Harden “decided” that a few games ago.

A more interesting question is who’s going defend point guards and shooting guards

>Harden’s playmaking ability is sick.

It’s funny that people act surprised, he did lead the league in assists one

and top 10 in AST every season since then. i don't think folks watched the morey-harden-d'antoni rockets despite them being in nationally televised games all the time. if they had watched they would have consistently seen harden make passes like he's making now. the only "new" passes he's making are the full court transition ones because HOU rarely ran transition offense, preferring to dribble the air out of the ball in a half court offense. HOU was successful then because harden was creating dozens of good-to-open looks for his teammates every game. that's not possible unless you're an elite passer. the difference between BKN and HOU is that BKN has more capable shooters so more of the potential AST are being converted. HOU always took a lot of threes but were usually slightly below league average in 3P%. BKN is leading the league in FG% so harden's AST numbers are up a bit

It’s one thing to get stat padding assists, and its another to direct people and
put people where they need to be.

In Houston, it was more dribble, dribble, dribble ,and then bail out to shooters for the assist. We all remember what Giannis said about him.

With Brooklyn, he holds the ball less and dribbles less. He finds the open man a lot
quicker, and is more direct with his play. He gets immediately into the offense.

He said he felt he needed to carry the offense while he was in Houston, so maybe
he got stuck in a selfish mind state.

He is playing more like he used to play when he was with OKC.

Yeah. It was quite strange.

Except for that first year with Chris Paul. They were excellent that one
year and probably would have won the chip had Chris not gotten injured.

But even then he was still dribbling all over the place....Chris would be like “give up the ball”. That shit soured fast.

>It’s one thing to get stat padding assists, and its another

>

this keeps getting brought up in these posts and i don't understand what y'all are talking about

is that when a basketball player improves their team's chances of winning by passing the basketball to a teammate who then scores points by successfully throwing the basketball into the basket? is it stat padding when they're down or up by a certain margin? is the stat-padding assist stat tracked on second spectrum?

>In Houston, it was more dribble, dribble, dribble ,and then
>bail out to shooters for the assist. We all remember what
>Giannis said about him.

yes. this was the game plan as directed by morey and d'antoni. morey often said that harden isos or harden-led pick and rolls were the most efficient possessions HOU could generate so that's what they did all the time

>With Brooklyn, he holds the ball less and dribbles less. He
>finds the open man a lot
>quicker, and is more direct with his play. He gets immediately
>into the offense.

there is more movement in BKN offense. again this is down to the coaching and FO. if morey/d'antoni wanted HOU players to move off-ball more then they would have made it happen

he did have to carry the offense in HOU. were they going to let danuel house run the offense? maybe run 20 pj tucker post-ups every game? when there was someone else capable of running the offense (cp3, russ) he shared and deferred. i will grant that he would occasionally get a little selfish (his 30 point game streak comes to mind) but i truly think he was just doing what he was told to do. do you think he wanted to shoot 15 stepbacks and drive to the rim 10 times and run the offense and handle the ball 99% of the time he was on the court in every single game? he must have had massive decision fatigue every day while he was in HOU. even when he was carrying them in early '19 through all those injuries he would say after every game, "i don't want to play like this but i have to do this in order for us to win"

>He is playing more like he used to play when he was with OKC.

on last night's broadcast mike breen noted that billy donovan called harden the best playmaker on OKC. i think harden is getting back to his roots and preferred style of play
