"Wild’n Out: 2021 NFL Wild Card Weekend Post"
Sat Jan-09-21 11:57 AM by CyrenYoung

Today:
Colts at Bills

Rams at Seahawks

Bucs at Washington

Tomorrow:
Ravens at Titans

Bears at Saints

Browns at Steelers

Can Rivers stay out of Jonathan Taylor and the offensive line’s way, enough for them to possibly pull off the upset?

Rams/Seahawks really could be a toss up...with or without Goff playing. The Rams defense is really that good.

Are the Titans about to go full one and done?

So I can see Antonio Brown having another good game, and Gronk putting in some work. WFT don’t do so well defending TEs.

But WFT doesn’t give up a lot of points...so 24/17 or 28/21 at the most.

..We know Arians likes to go vertical. They'll play smart, but they're not backing down to Young & that def line. With Jones in the backfield, play action should be the move.

Evans & Godwin have earned Brady's trust. Gronk is healthy.

Carlton Davis returns just in time for the playoffs.

Just for fun, I will go Bills because Rivers always throws that costly interception.
But Colts might cover. PO games are usually defensive and close.

Washington has the defense to win, but the qb situation is focked up. And the eagles
were in position to beat them last game but decided to rig. Bucs have tons of weapons, at some point you have to be able to really score. I’ll go Bucs, but WFT might cover.

Seattle/Rams...Rams qb situation is focked too, so it will be a lot of running. Not sure
that is going to be enough, Seattle’s defense is playing at a high level now. On the flip side, Rams have the number 1 pass defense, and Russell has been playing like shit.
It SHOULD be a low scoring game, but I wouldn’t be surprised if this turns into a blowout or high scoring. There is always some crazy shit with west coast games. I never bet on them because of it. Fock around a see s Russ Hail Mary.

You go for it on 4th down that far away from the end zone in a PO game in the 2nd quarter? Dumb. You always take the points. PO games are defensive and close, so every point matters.

That might fock around and be the difference. I want to see the so called analytics that told them to go for it.

Rivers throws 3 feet behind Pittman Jr and the kicker misses a 33 yard field goal. 14 play drive with nothing to show for it.

They keep chasing and leaving points on the field.

Going for 2 only makes sense if you kick the FG in the first half or make the FG in the 2nd half.

isn't going to be looked at with the side-eye by history.

you got buffalo with fans but other teams without fans. you got a team not being able to practice all week. you got key players out. coaches not being able to coach. what the fuck is this shit? i mean, i appreciate the pandemic entertainment and all and it's cool having my shitty bears somehow still alive, but c'mon.

at least the nba* had an even (no fans), covid-free playing environment in their bubble.

*the nba is quickly heading towards side-eye territory at the moment.

Akers ran for 131 yards and the rams scored points,
and this was against a QB with a broken thumb!

Seattle was able to get 20 off of playing badly.... Seattle gave up
up 10 points in the last quarter. They couldn’t hold water.

yes that oline is atrocious. But that defense got RAN the fock over. All types of
holes up the middle.

Sean controlled this game through the run that Seattle couldn’t stop.

My wife was yelling at the tv and she's not even a Settle fan. She was like, "Their line is trash!"

Sadly, this isn't new. They've never had a great o-line. There is this feeling that they can just throw one together and Russ can make a play. It's the curse of black QBs really. Go make a play champ.

These dumb ass teams keep going for 2. And it’s now a one possession game for WFT.

Now you have lost 2 points. You miss an XP and then try to make up for it.

WFT hanging around. They have to get pressure though... don’t be afraid to blitz . Can’t let Brady just stand on his spot

..That Team in DC made them work for it, but Tampa secured a win that was anything but impressive.

Heinicke showed heart and kept the game close 'til late in the 4th. Bucs finally got pressure when they needed it the most.

They'll need a lot more than the effort shown today in order to continue to advance.

WFT fucked around and found themselves their Romo?!!
If the refs called offensive holding, WFT wins that game handily. Heinicke is a baller!

Oh well, he gotta deal with the Pack or the Rams, depending on what happens tomorrow. Hope it's the Rams. Aaron Donald deserves REAP.

Goff actually came in there and played on a bum thumb. Rams D does what it does.

Seattle underachieved this year. Got the division but that offense should be better than it is.

Bills almost found their match in the Colts. Not quite there yet. If Luck had that O-Line though....? Sheeeeeeeeeeeit.

I'm fuckin w/Buffalo though. Josh Allen is OVERACHIEVING. IMO.

Yes, I'm mad. Let's move on.

It was there for us, despite being woefully overmatched.

Heinicke was brilliant. I don’t know what the future holds for him. At minimum, he’s a fun little footnote in Washington Football lore.

There’s enough to get excited about here. A few handfuls of young guys who I love, who play hard every snap, who aren’t obnoxious Twitter Gen Z pussies; McLaurin, Gibson, Young (duh), Sweat, Payne, Allen, Ionnaidis (get healthy), Curl...

We both overachieved and managed to announce an arrival at the same time. My desperate hope is that this isn’t all for naught. I trust that Rivera holds them accountable and gets the most out of this group in the offseason.

I don’t have a clue what to do at QB. All the props in the world to Alex Smith but its of course time to move on from him. Heinicke is probably fools gold but damn, are you gonna just let him bounce after this? Is Stafford available? Is Deshaun Watson available? Is Jameis an upgrade? I wholly believe if this team can get competent QB play, one more receiver, and a starting grade linebacker they’re in the mix. Like NFC title game mix. Again, just so much young talent to get excited about.

I’ve never been this encouraged by a Sk*ns team in my whole life. I hope this season is the start of something and not a fleeting moment.

Is Stafford available? Definitely. Prolly for less than a 1st round pick.

>Deshaun Watson available? Prolly for two firsts, though texans may be stupid enough to settle for less. Still worth it from my POV, given skins talent.

>Is Jameis an upgrade? uh...maybe. I'd take him over Cam at this point, solely due to health.

Tanny has to cut it loose and be his best self in this 4th quarter. They’re trying to keep it simple since they assume they can stop Lamar. But Lamar can stick a few throws then execute a brutal tuck and run a few more times and the Titans will be in real trouble.

I expected the Ravens to really eat offensively due to the Titans’
porous defense. Hollywood is usually good for one TD a game.
Let’s see if Ljack can make one decent throw to him.

Tennessee always makes a huge 4th quarter push, so I’m sure there
will be more numbers.

Deep ball, behind the line up scrimmage, WR screens. Rookie is a beast
Green Bay couldn’t stop him, but he got injured in the 4th quarter. And is ruled
out for this game. As soon as we lost him things went to shit against Green Bay.

And we lost our best defender in that game, Roquan Smith.

This is going to be an extremely hard task.

Miller is going to have to step wayyyy the fock up today. It’s hard to run against the Saints, but we have to find a way and get our TEs going ....and then hit them down the field with Robinson. Control possession, eat clock, keep it balanced. Take some shots , but play towards our strengths....and use Mitch’s legs.

but drops a perfect TD throw.

He is not doing himself any favors, because most people want him gone for the spiting
incident that occurred earlier in the season. This will intensify it.

Mooney makes that catch in his sleep with his eyes closed.

Robinson, Wims and Miller have to be perfect today.

Saints are going to sit on Robinson...they know the other receivers aren’t solid.

They playing man to man on them and keeping a safety over Robinson.

Defense is playing strong and makings plays. Keeping us in it. Gibson good play.

It was more of a swing to get him away. He wasn’t targeting his head.
It was a reaction as the player came up on him.

There has to be some logical middle ground there, and not some letter of the law call.

Clearly he wasn’t targeting his head. Dude came up on him and he reacted by
swing at him to get him off. It was a quick response like dude get off me. He hit him in the head while doing so ...but he was not TARGETING his head. He was just trying to get the guy away from him because he ran up on him. It was a reaction swing or punch.

And it looks even less serious on replay.

Clearly it was a defense reaction because it was from behind...

From ESPN:

“Miller was in the process of walking back to the Bears' sideline following an incomplete pass when Gardner-Johnson approached Miller from behind and said something that caused Miller to shove him.

The officials also flagged Gardner-Johnson for unsportsmanlike conduct, but only Miller was disqualified from the game.”

Said shit about TARGETING his head or going for his head...it clearly says shove.

But do you.

They got wims like that last time.... ejection is bullshit.

Saints player comes up behind Miller as he is walking off, and he was
pushing him away. Wasnt a straight up punch. That should have been taken
into consideration. Miller didn’t initiate. He was provoked.

I’m surprised we did this well without Mooney and Roquan.

Next year, we get Cohen back with Mitch, Robinson, Mooney , Montgomery and Cmet with Bill Lazor calling plays. Re-sign Patterson and continue to build the oline, draft a QB, and we will definitely be a better team.

and they have WRs that can do things. Tennessee played way too conservative going up against Baltimore. If not for that pick I was really wondering if anyone would get to 20 points.

on another note: Baltimore is very lucky to have Lamar.
cause while he didn't light it up against Tennessee outside of that run....

....their offense is mostly ASS. props for them having a fullback proper to run behind, though

Yes, I'm mad. Let's move on.

Going up 28-0 in the first quarter can be a curse, because it’s hard to
carry that same energy for the rest of the game.

And the rapist is a comeback master.

..for winning their 1st playoff game in nearly 20 yrs.

Not much to say about Pittsburgh. They took keystone cops to a whole nutha level.

Hopefully the Browns will show better composure in the wake of this win.

that marks 4 times the Browns dropped 40+ and the only time they couldn't undo it was the Ravens game.

WE BEAT YALL WITHOUT HEAD COACH.
WE BEAT YALL WITH ASSISTANTS
WE BEAT YALL WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO PRACTICE FOR THREE WEEKS
WE HOED YALL ON YALL HOME FIELD.

This is worse than the 3:16 game because the Steelers had all the advantages.
