If we go by the metrics the site gave which included playoff games, Shawn would have actually won on all metrics except for most wins. Which he was second by 2 games.
IF we had chosen to pick a champ, I would have used the higher ranking player based on regular season AND playoffs.
Second round was gonna be a brawl in both conferences anyway, Giannis came back just in time and there was a good chance ANY of us could have lost in the second round.

NBA preseason ends 12/19 so I'm thinking we start the draft 12/16 and run through 12/20. This gives us a chance to catch a few preseason games, see who has corona early and scout the rookies a little. If we only have 12, should be a faster process.
Wednesday, 12/16 @ Noon EST: Timed draft starts Noon-5pm EST, 15 min time limit 5pm EST clock off
Thursday, 12/17 @ Noon EST: Timed draft starts Noon-5pm EST, 15 min time limit 5pm EST clock off
Friday, 12/18 @ Noon EST: Timed draft starts Noon-5pm EST, 15 min time limit 5pm EST clock off
Saturday-Sunday, 12/19-12/20: 1 hour time limit over the weekend Clock will start at 11am EST and turn off at 9pm EST all weekend So basically, you have to pay attention to the draft until 8:01pm EST each day to avoid being skipped
Monday (if necessary), 12/21 @ Noon EST: Timed draft starts 1 hour live draft, 5 min time limit 1pm-5pm EST 15 min time limit 5pm EST clock off
^^^As the NBA season starts on 12/22, we would have to finish on Monday.
Let me know if these dates are inconvenient. But I figure with a chunk of us likely working remote or on lockdown, should be workable for everyone.

1. We only have 14 players. It was floated to put two bots in the league to thin the player pool to normal levels and keep the conferences/divisions balanced. Would you prefer this or just to ride it out with 14? Would be funny to see Magilla lose a playoff spot to a ghost though. 😂
2. We've been chatting on WhatsApp for the league as OKP has been uhm...less than lit...lately. We'll keep both communication methods open but if anyone wants to join the chat, let me know. A good majority of the league is on there and that's how we found out Theo was still alive.

How are the rosters handled? While I assume that you could queue up a bunch of contingency players, who is to say some of the players that the bot teams pick don't become valuable WS players, which would then thin the talent pool more than we'd like?
(I'm not at all saying this because my title was won because of Jordan Clarkson's rookie year)
I feel like the way to go to keep things totally fair is to just roll with 14 teams and there'll be an extra pool of players we don't normally get to pick from, but whatever you guys decide I'm fine.

The talent pool will still be better bc you don't have bot teams making in season adjustments. Without the bot teams, there'd be an additional 24 guys that are normally on rosters, that would be Fagents.

I'm just saying, what if they drafted someone who is probably going to be bad, like a 2nd rounder or something, and that person actually becomes a 1.2 FPPM scorer late season? That'd suck.
I know you can probably get by by queuing up like Klay Thompson, Liangelo Ball, etc. but just saying a "bad" player becomes valuable later on. I guess it's fine though.

I'm just saying if we have 16 teams, and 2 of which are only there for essentially a bye week, those teams have potentially viable players on the roster that COULD be good pieces for the other 14 active teams. The player pool strengthens without 2 teams taking up space for no other reason other than balanced divisions, and can potentially hold players that could help other teams - unlike a managed team that someone could trade for those players.
It probably doesn't matter either way, I'm just wondering what the benefit of having 2 ghost teams even is. We're already at a 72 game regular season, so records and stats are going to be different anyhow.

I suggested the ghost teams. It wasn't so much to even out the divisions, it was to make the fagent pool thinner and more aligned to a normal season with 16 teams.
And the 72 game season factors into wins but not average or 1.3 guys being a free agent.
And I'd be willing to bet that the two ghost teams will not have the worst record in the league. The cpu actually drafts pretty good..they won't do anything surprising or anything dumb. Of course, not making any roster moves will hurt but with some good luck, they'll be respectable.

So here's my solutions as the draft is tomorrow.
1-We recruit a former or new player to come back but they gotta yeet the entry fee if they want to win the pool. Otherwise they play for bragging rights and the runner up gets the pot (both winner and runner up share) if the new/returnee wins the league. With this option though, we have to get this person within the next 16 hours. We have options (if they are still around). Lead candidate being Frank Longo.
2-We have one bot and we let everyone pick a player for the bot team. As it's 12 roster spots, Me/Cenario and RBO/Ernie will cooperate on picks being league administration and the last few champs. This way we don't let the CPU put together a beast with auto pick and we can use those draft spots strategically (avoiding injured players, no point in Klay being drafted by the bot if he wouldn't be by a player). If no one likes this, we'll auto pick the roster.
