"Concerned about direction, Westbrook wants out of HOU (via KXCN)"
Wed Nov-11-20 08:05 PM by LeroyBumpkin

Breaking: In telling Houston he wants out, Russell Westbrook has given them a list of teams he’d preferred to be traded to.
On that list, the Milwaukee Bucks, The Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers, and the Atlanta Hawks.
League sources tell KXCN.

Can they swing that? 👀

I still wonder how the Lakers would've looked if they maxed out a third superstar (i.e. butler). Could've still had rondo and caruso type d-leaguers.

Although, Westbook's contract has to be at least 5M - 8M more than the salary Kawhi could have signed for. They'd have to get rid of Danny Green, KCP, and not extend Kuzma.

But honestly, I don't think Westbrook's style makes them better. They'd be subtracting a lot of their outside shooting, weakening their depth, and Russell also isn't a great defender.

It's risky but he just doesn't seem worth it considering their chemistry was already great last year. #runitback

I wouldn’t consider westy a help type of player. I hope they start from the ground up with the Rox. Hopefully they don’t saddle themselves with another irregular/distressed asset superstar.

back before the Bubble started. Vic originally said he was not going to play in the bubble. Then, the team kind of put it out that he was medically ok to play. He intimated, that from folks he'd spoken with, there was some uneasiness with his injury and should he play or not.

PG and Kawhi don’t see eye to eye.

Cry cry, trade me. Clippers would be foolish to trade PG for Westbrook.

And Derozan wants to play with the Lakers.

This era of basketball players is becoming insufferable. This is why Damien Lillard gets mad respect.

All those stat padded triple doubles*... still can’t shoot for shit and is as one dimensional as they come... he’s going to fall off a cliff so hard once that athleticism wanes and he has to rely on his acumen and actual basketball skills.

OKC was a team of underachievers with ONE STAR like the 2001 Sixers with Iverson.

He’s a PG that can only penetrate and finish and or dish it off. He can’t shoot. He’s not Ben Simmons but he’s not Dame

Saw plenty of Rockets games, mostly for Harden though bc he’s much more gifted. We all have league pass , its only a buck and change . Try again. Don’t catch feelings bc your guy isnt coveted by winning teams

Healthy John Wall >> Westbrook

strange for you to go there. He's only played on two teams in 11 seasons...how do you know who covets him? Of course, Harden is a damn near generational scorer. Russ is what he is...he's never been a great shooter. You keep saying penetrate and finish as if it's something everyone can do. Why don't more people do what he does, if it's so easy? Also...him being the fill in center wasn't about defense at all. It was about him caving in defenses and forcing them to stop his drives or give up a basket...because he always found the shooter, waiting. But, you saw it...in all the Rockets games you watched.

just because I don’t visit these boards as much doesn’t mean I stopped watching sports .

>strange for you to go there. He's only played on two teams
>in 11 seasons...how do you know who covets him? Of course,
>Harden is a damn near generational scorer. Russ is what he
>is...he's never been a great shooter. You keep saying
>penetrate and finish as if it's something everyone can do.
>Why don't more people do what he does, if it's so easy?
>Also...him being the fill in center wasn't about defense at
>all. It was about him caving in defenses and forcing them to
>stop his drives or give up a basket...because he always found
>the shooter, waiting. But, you saw it...in all the Rockets
>games you watched.

lol if he ends up on a championship contending team after all this is done I’ll donate 50 dollars to your favorite charity , he doesn’t fit with other stars . He has to be the guy with the ball in his hands and smaller fish around him or he can’t flourish (not that he ever does anything in the playoffs anyway

I insinuated that you don't watch the Rockets, consistently. If you did, you'd know he literally carried the Rockets for a huge stretch when James played like pure ass and did it with league leading numbers. It's not an opinion. It happened. He acquiesced to James and still averaged 27/8/7 on 47% shooting for the season.

Cool...we'll see if we can get some money for the American Diabetes Association.

Lol so fucking what ? (I couldn’t even think of a mizzou player off top I had to sit and think for a second )

Westbrook a stat padding albatross but an exciting one

Edit And I never said Conley was better anyway . He is a much better shooter though and a much better team player .

Offensive box plus minus has dipped each of the last four years.
Win shares per 48 has dipped each of the last four years.
VORP has dipped each of the last four years.
PER has dipped each of the last four years.
His free throw rate has dipped each of the last four years.

He can still put up some monster stats for a team, and he will still will his team singlehandedly to some high profile wins... but overall, his positive impact on winning has been diminishing and will likely continue to diminish with age, because he's so reliant on attacking the rack and on having the ball in his hands.

If I'm Milwaukee, why would I take Westbrook? I already have Giannis, who's basically Tall Westbrook with better defense. They need shooting. Why would Atlanta take Westbrook? They need shooting, they need defense, and they need the ball in Trae's hands. Westbrook wouldn't help any of those things.

I still think he's a stud 1v1 player, he's a damn bulldog, and he's shown enough adaptability that I'm not gonna call him "one-dimensional"... but I do think it's fair to wonder if his style of play has been conducive to anything other than the level of results his teams have seen. He's not terribly high on the list of players I'd use to start a team nowadays.

He is the iverson of this era.....once the athleticism left, he fell off the earth.

Shooting numbers are almost identical... never shot 50 percent from the field. Never good at shooting 3s. Gambling defense.

Crazy, how Derrick Rose has reinvented his game, and can’t shoot and one of the best scorers of the bench. His injuries were a blessing in disguise.

I read an article on them the other day. There is no other team that is in a greater spot for the present and the future than the Thunder.

They can re-sign Gallinari, keep Paul, and they still wouldn’t be in the luxury tax. And Alexander, Dort, and Bazely will be even better. Plus they have like 12 first round draft picks that will cover the next 6 drafts.

They can rebuild and be competitive at the same time. And Paul will be off the books in 2022, and Shai would be ready to lead by then.

he knows it and Sam knows it. It's winding down for him. He doesn't want to be a competitive 5th seed. He wants to win. Wouldn't be surprised if Gallo and Steven are gone, too.

Biggest suitor is Phoenix, and Oklahoma is way better than Phx on both sides of the ball. Oklahoma is the best 4th quarter team in the nba, with the best 4th quarter players. Phx probably will not make the PO next year. He would have a better chance of getting to the chip with OKC than with PhX.

Lakers can’t afford him as well as most other teams.

So regardless of him being hot, to go anywhere else would be backwards.

His contract is already paid, basically. In order for him to go to a top top contender , he would have to opt out of his contract and take less money and that’s not happening.

I expect him to be back in OKC....unless he opts out to just hop on with lebron to get a ring. Other than that nothing else makes sense.

End post.

It was just two dudes giving an observation on the situation because
of the great season okc had, and because of Paul’s overly inflated contract.

But continue to troll
