Sources: Termination is imminent.

Please, so Udoka can get the job, and I don’t have to worry about him Chicago.

Lue's name is being floated...I think an experienced coach like Lue would be a better choice

we're kinda stuck 1-5 with all the money Brand spent last offseason
Horford
Richardson
Tobias
Ben
and Jo...I think is already like $130M guaranteed next year just between those 5

unless Brand can pull off a trade...we really can't improve the roster

that's a big ask for a rookie HC, IMO

Udoka is being touted as the most sought after HC candidate heading into the offseason

...and we still haven't seen all the chips fall...

I expect at least a couple more attractive opportunities for him, than this situation

I really do like Shake and Richardson... there is a lot of talent there.
Tobias is a trooper. Still worth 20-6-6, just highly overpaid

Embid is lazy as fuck, mentally and physically. And Simmons is stubborn.

I would dump both..just saying.

w/o Jo a couple of seasons ago

That is...it’s always felt like a choice needed to be made between the 2

I would dump Jo if I could just to send a message

Year 5 and he’s still not in NBA shape

His first half vs 2nd half numbers tell the story

...and you can see him bent over and gassed in the 2nd quarter on a regular basis...

But the final straw for me was him barking at Shake

Shake, in year 2, and his first start at PG in the new lineup

...had his worst game I’ve seen him play...

Does Embiid try to pick him up...hey lil’ fella, get me the ball and I’ll bring us home, etc...?

Nope

He shows him up on the court by starting an argument during an inbound play that continued to the bench on the deadball

That’s not leadership

He can go with Brown.

Ben’s issue is singular, a jump shot

I have way more confidence in that development than Embiid’s conditioning and attitude

Ben’s a + player in literally every other facet of the game.

you can't understand it with an explanation

Yeah, Ben is great in everything else.

He needs to sit down with Rick Rubio. Rick was the same at one point. Defense on lock, passing, rebounding, but couldn’t shoot, and refused to shoot. Got to PHX, developed a 3, now that PHX backcourt ain’t shit to fock with..just ask Kawhi.

Shake jumper wet as hell. That kid is going to be nice. Just gotta get other people involved, assists way too low. But he is a youngin..still growing.

... but I also can't see them not kicking the tires on him. Especially considering that the entire narrative has largely been "Philly can't shoot."

I don't think Philly kicking the tires on a local hero who also happens to be one of the two best coaches running an NBA style offense in college is a bad idea just because Pitino and Cal sucked at it.

Which is, of course, why Philly is kicking the tires as we speak.

But again, I don't think Wright will take it. They're a bonafide title contender right now at Villanova, and he can remain a hero there forever instead of leaving to have to deal with the Sixer fanbase.

Calipari coached the Nets to the playoffs in his first season as a coach. The following year the nba went though a 3 month lockout, and Sam Cassell got injured. The nets got off to a bad start because of it, and he got fired

Rick Pitino coached the Knicks to their first division title in almost 20 years, then he quit...and later on took the job at Boston where things didn’t work out.

Their style of coaching is very vocal, and Rick did not want to change. However, that style works overseas, And he has been successful overseas.

That ain’t even close to sucking.. what the two of them did with those horrible orgs was a miracle.

You stay on that Duke shit.

but people bring up their names as “college coaches who flopped as pros,” so I was just trying to cater to at least one point the above poster made, lol.

I actually like Cal and LOVE Pitino. Why would a Duke fan not like either of them? I only give a shit about UNC.

That’s honestly why the Juwan offers made a little more sense— that fan base would ditch him for a Beilein return in a HEARTBEAT, so Juwan chasing that check would make total sense.

But Wright will get whatever he asks for forever— he has a lifetime gig if he wants it, and whatever money he desires— even during the pandemic. That’s better than a thankless job with the Sixers.

I always say coaching in the NBA is more than x’s & o’s, they all run the same plays it’s about managing personalities

There was basically no process under Colangelo and certainly not under Brand. Not coincidentally, the progress of the organization stalled. The management has been abjectly terrible. That doesn't absolve Brown's failings, it was definitely time for him to go. But yeah the front office has been fucking trash.

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

The guy that traded Jimmy Butler for Josh Richardson
...so he could give Al Horford MORE money...
and I would ASSume was the catalyst of the big lineup in a small ball league that couldn’t bully the cast of mean girls

He needs to go too.
