"Watching the 2012 Men’s 4x100..."

Usain was really from another planet, that Olympics. That was was so good. Justin Gatlin got the US the lead with a dope second leg, but Yohan Blake kinda ate Tyson Gay’s food on the third leg and closed it up. Usain and Ryan Bailey, for one minuscule moment, were side by side. By the time Bolt switched the stick to his other hand, he had pulled like 2 body lengths on dude...and he was still opening up. He eviscerated Bailey, man! Fuck.

He starts out SPRINTING, slows down, then tries to restart ... he needed to be perfect to even have a chance and he was not that.

just focused on him, only. He takes off, sorta downshifts as he waits for Gay to come to him, then ramps up, again...meanwhile, Bolt switched the button over and was cookin.

He can't be serious, right?'

That whole USA squad and jamaican squad were dope.

Nesta Carter tested positive and was banned, and Bolt lost a relay medal because of it , he was doped to the gills as well. Same thing for Blake who also tested positive in his career

We all know Tyson Gay and Justin Gatlin were and are dirty as hell.

He cant be serious with that question.

I submit the 800m from the 2012 Olympics. David Rudisa breaks the WR. Pulled everyone along to all kinds of national, junior, and personal records.

10. "Carl Lewis vs Mike Powell in long jump at the Tokyo WCs (1991)"
In response to Reply # 9

They were jumping out of the pit that day. Carl jumped over 29 feet three times!! First one breaking Bob Beamon's WR (wind aided though).
But Powell came through next round, and snatched the WR (29'4").
Then Carl Lewis comes just short of getting it back next two rounds.

Crazy competition. It's rare to see someone get over 27 feet nowadays.

But I would have to go with Lagat vs El G in the 1500m in athens, pure speed.

And to top that off, possibly the greatest pure speed race off all time, El G vs, Bekele vs Kipchoge for the 5000m gold in Athens. We're talking the greatest 1500m runner of all time, vs the greatest 5000m/10000m runner of all time vs the greatest marathoner of all time.

On the Women's side, this might be hands down the most dominant performance in the Olympics: At the 2016 Olympics, Almaz Ayana destroyed the 10000m World Record, and put up a time that was in the Men's territory. And the crazy thing is there were 3 other runners that ran under 30 mins, and the entire field set either NR or PRs. Also, she lapped the majority of the field....But she was doped beyond her mind, and hasn't even come close to those times since then. She destroyed a WR that was set by a chinese runner who admitted to doping, and the record was considered to be a record that was far out of reach due to it being a doped record. Ayana destroyed the record by 14 seconds!
