The legalese is so blatant that the chick don’t even overtly ACCUSE him. The language is asking him to admit the shit...just based on nothing. No one will bat an eye, since the NCAA recently passed a ruling that will allow athletes to capitalize off their image. Also Duke is too big of an institution, and at this point, everyone is desensitized because athletes deserve to be paid.

If you want this story to stick, you need more than Michael Avenatti and a jilted ex-agent making requests for admission without hard evidence.
It's routinely hilarious watching Twitter freak out every time there's some fringe possibility of a Duke scandal. "Wendell Carter was mentioned on the FBI list? DUKE'S GOING DOWN! Zion was mentioned in the Adidas trials? DUKE'S GOING DOWN!" Will Wade is *on tape* talking about paying players, and he still has his job, lmao. People think an ex-agent requesting admission will move the needle one millimeter?
One day, maybe hard evidence will come out. (Safe to assume that every major school will be implicated at some point, especially ones recruiting as hard as Duke does.) And at that point, a booster will be punished, or an assistant will be axed. Coach K will emerge unscathed, save for maybe some vacated wins, which would move him from the winningest NCAA coach of all time to... still the winningest NCAA coach of all time. And life will go on.

Zion's team responded, saying that the ID they claim was used to authenticate the loan is an obvious fake. Gina Ford's team then responded to that, arguing that there is no evidence that the ID is fake.
Obviously the legal experts following the case agree with what our eyes tell us and that this is an obvious fake for several reasons, and that this development is, of course, really bad for Ford's credibility. So this sworn affidavit that USA Today is citing... will probably also be the nail in the coffin sealing Zion's victory.
This doesn't mean he didn't receive any benefits from anyone, of course. But it certainly means that all of the press this case has been getting, unless Ford is sitting on actual damning and non-fraudulent evidence to be revealed at a later time, will amount to absolutely squat.

This is gonna be the end of an era for NCAA basketball “scandals” though. Covid’s gonna finally chop off the head. Nobody gives a damn about college basketball, and I’m amazed I was such a die-hard UK fan for so long.
i'll always be a UNC fan but after the last title i was relieved and satisfied in a way that i never thought i could be. and it hasnt hit the same since. it felt like a nice end point to my die-hard days.
im way more interested in whats going on with the football program these days

For one, and I know this phrase is tired, but the “product” is not very good. That’s for all of college basketball. With Cal’s recruiting and constant turnover, his teams aren’t truly worth watching until February most years, with some exceptions. I’d rather just watch NBA highlights on YouTube and then watch full games during the playoffs. Maybe peep a 2-minute highlight clip of UK vs Directional State in November, but I’d never sit down and watch that game live on a Tuesday night like I would five years ago.
One more thing - I’ve learned how “conservative” most of UK’s fan base is, and it’s bleeding into sports more than ever. Seeing hella rednecks post CRAZY shit about black people (on the UK forum, no less!) and then act entitled about young black kids on “their” basketball team? Hell no. I’d legitimately love to drop a bomb on 75% of the UK fan base.
Anyway, I’ll stop with the incoherent rambling. Weirdly, like you, I’ve found following UK FOOTBALL to be way more fun the last 5-6 years. I guess I’ve just found other things to do with my time and energy as I’ve gotten older.
